And the one that kicked off the Rwandan genocide:

Good point. Also radio was used to gin up the conflict. And bulk.made Chinese made machetes. Sad. I had a friend who idealistically went to the Dark Continenf as aome Peafe Corps. Survived but said nuts. A coup happened and rifles were primarily used as blugeons because rege bought rifles but not much ammo! Central African Republic as I recall, but names change quocy there.

Sorta cool.  Converting abandoned JFK TWA terminal as a retro "TWA Hotel." They are even going to use an old 1958 Lockheed Constellation as a cocktail lounge.

Every time I go thru JFK, I feel like I need a four hour shower.  Maybe this will help that tired facility.

Navy Recordings of Viral Sky Penis Incident Show Pilot Worried 'Balls Are Going to Be a Little Lopsided'

QuoteEven before drafting the shaft, the lieutenants knew it could cause a stir. “Dude, that would be so funny,” the pilot reportedly said to his partner. “Airliner’s[sic] coming back on their way into Seattle, just this big fucking giant penis. We could almost draw a vein in the middle of it too.”

The report lay’s out the creative struggle of making a sky penis, according to the Navy Times:

“Balls are going to be a little lopsided,” the pilot advised.

“Balls are complete,” he reported moments later. “I just gotta navigate a little bit over here for the shaft.”

“Which way is the shaft going?” the EWO asked.

“The shaft will go to the left,” the pilot answered.

“It’s gonna be a wide shaft,” the EWO noted.

“I don’t wanna make it just like 3 balls,” the pilot said.

“Let’s do it,” the EWO said. “Oh, the head of that penis is going to be thick.”

“Soon after, I realized the extent of our actions,” the pilot reportedly wrote later. “That the contrails were remaining longer than predicted.”

The pilot then tried to scrub what he had done. “I flew one pass over it essentially trying to scribble it out with my contrails. That pass was ineffective,” he reportedly wrote.

It always amazes me how they're aware of where each element of what they write or draw is. Bearing in mind they're working in three dimensions.

You have to have a mental map of your position and surroundings, or as in this case they have to be picturing a giant penis.

Near miss: Workers were working on repairs on a runway at Asuncion silvio pettirossi international airport

I think I like "ear scratching, I'll just mosey out of the way of the incoming jet" dude best of all

Making an unscheduled landing in my corn field

Can't you sync some audio with Norry doing a Mumy and saying "get to the cornfield."  ;)

By the way is it true that, generally, at least for sweet corn, there is only one ear on a stalk? Discussion question over beers this weekend with an uncle. I swear when I was a kid there was more than one ear? I could be wrong but seems weird. I haven't been back to a cornfield in a while and have only seen at a distance so can't tell. The 'interwebs' say his claim is, maybe true? I attempted to counter with "feed corn," Indian corn, non-GMO corn and every claim I could until I steered into other conversations so as not to lose the argument/question.

It takes a "hot stick" to draw a sky penis. (Pun intended.)  He'll probably take a hit on his FITREP under "Judgement" but he'll no doubt get a top grade in "Airmanship."   It won't hurt him in the long run if he decides to stay in and he probably is already a living legend within the naval aviation community.

What do you suppose his call sign is now?

If it isn't Sky Penis I will be terribly disappointed.

Generally yes, 1 ear per plant is optimal. Sometimes you'll get 1 medium sized ear and a stunted second ear(usually with no seed) and rarely a mutant plant with 2 decent sized ears(more common in heavy fertilized commercial or "feed corn") but the seed quality is pretty poor

Well, I was wrong. Dammit.

Sixty Years Ago, a Pilot Flew a B-47 Nuclear Bomber Under Michigan's Mackinac Bridge

B-47.   B-58 would have been much cooler  :)

The situation just looks worse and worse for Boeing:

Boeing admits flaws in 737 MAX simulator software after crashes
QuoteBoeing has acknowledged it had to correct flaws in its 737 MAX flight simulator software used to train pilots, after two deadly crashes involving the aircraft that killed 346 people within six months.

The US-based aerospace company said its simulators were incapable of replicating certain flight conditions that contributed to the Ethiopian Airlines crash in March, or the Lion Air accident off Indonesia last October.

It can also drop the brand new for 2019 B-61 Mod 12 bunker busting nuke. It is hyper accurate and is of a dial-a-yield config.  You can select either 300 ton, 1500, 10,000 or 50,000 ton equivalents of TNT.
The B-2 can carry 16 of these or the other nuclear gravity bomb, the B-83(max yield 1,200,000 tons TNT) on the Rotary Launcher Assemblies that the B-2 can carry.

For the first time in 10 years the 2018 US nuclear stockpile is now again classified. I wonder if this new weapon is the reason why?

I might do a drive-by or at least look up and try to see. Huge helicopters hauling HVAC units or stuff onto buildings are impressive. In this case "require FCC repairs" to a local TV station's antenna. Apparently will involve at least one Erickson S-64 and "will lift pieces of steel up to 56 feet long and weighing nearly 20,000 pounds"
