Aviation...of sorts.
That is nuts/awesome. And it looks like there has been a development in the "suits." But that is crazy. For a country of insurance underwriting and banking they sure let people take risks! Interestingly also, just a weird footnote, Japanese tourists love that area and it is quite funny when a bus full of them come in. Seriously the guide steers them around with an umbrella or sign on a stick, like sheep, and another handler/collie-dog (not really a dog but a person) goes after the strays who are snapping photos so quickly they don't look where they are going. Local told me it was because some Japanese Princess choose that area for a honeymoon, or something like that. Also, the legend of the mountains: Eiger (Ogre) (featured in the book and Clinton Eastwood movie) The "Ogre" is after the "Jungfrau" (virgin") who the Mönch (monk/priest) protects.

Former Astronaut Buzz Aldrin to Delta: "This is the most lousy operation I’ve ever seen.”

"You don't know who you're Fucking with !!!!"

Former astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second person to walk on the moon, was caught on video yelling at Delta Air Lines agents after he reportedly missed his flight at Los Angeles International Airport last week.

TMZ reported that Mr. Aldrin, rose from his wheelchair in a rage after Delta tried to remedy his situation by offering him a seat on a later flight.

“Are you operating an airline here or not?” the 87-year-old asked. We’ve been sitting here now 20 minutes waiting for somebody to come and fix a two-minute problem… I don’t want the next flight! This is the most lousy operation I’ve ever seen,” he said after asking for the agents’ names.

To me, this counts as proof that he never went to the moon. :(

Video taken in Wales from a great spot to do some aircraft watching.  I don't recognize the plane at the 1:06 mark.
Any idea what it is?

Guess the timestamps don't come over from LL.  It's the 4th bird in the sequence

Dunno,  Thought it might be an F-5 variant of some sort but then thought better of it.

Definitely not an f-5

I couldn’t see the video. What year was it taken?

I thought the Hawk was more of a chubby looking beast.

Agreed. At the Mach loop, North Wales. The one in the photo above has what look like AAM racks on the wing tips.

See if you can find a picture from below of a Gnat. It has a similar shape and is British.

Never mind. I hadn’t refreshed my browser

Mr Edward Petter (designer of the Folland Gnat) also designed the Westland Lysander, EE Canberra and the EE Lightning. The Gnat was a beautiful little aeroplane.

Putin has seemingly asked the United Aircraft Corporation to develop a civilian supersonic transport based on the Tu160 while at an aircraft factory in Kazan. The head of the company responded by saying that such a plane was already in development.

And if it is, what is the market? I wonder if it will be as successful as the Tu144?

Probably have more success developing the Tu160 design into a large, supersonic business jet for the ultra rich than a commercial airliner type transport.  I've never been in a Tu160, but assume it's similar in layout to the B-1.  No wasted space internally, even taking out all the military unique systems I doubt they could accomodate enough seats in the a/c to make it economically viable as an airliner.   Would also be a challenge to modify the a/c to met commercial emergency ground egress requirements for even a couple dozen people.
