Maybe it's just I'm feeling generous of spirit on this nite, but I think George is handling this pretty well.

So far it's been pretty good. I am still waiting for Hoagland like how Linus waited for the Great Pumpkin.

Whitley with some real inside info. Did he say only he and Bob Crane were C2C alumni that went to the funeral

That would be bad for her mentally, I fear. We don't need more of that. I sort of like this bit of the backstory. Inside baseball and a bit Norry promoting but still ok.

I agree the first too were pretty good. Certainly not famous on air connection but certainly  important behind the scenes. Lots of "You doing  great" comments to Noory by the guests

I like the guest saying Art was sick of politics and wantec to get away from it as it bored him. Who was Noory first   (Non tribute) guest...... the very partisan  political John Curtis  :-X

I want, strike that, demand SDM calls in from Federal Prison. And RCH. Even if it is on open-lines, if Norrys dares having them.

I am hoping for some surprise or returning voices and not just the usual suspects. Hoagland the top of my list. Is there any possibility of Heather? How much would Heather freak out of George gets Airyn?

She didn't know that Art liked cats!

She literally has no idea who Art is.

Wow this week has been horrible for some of my favorites. My favorite 90s talk show host and now my favorite 80s-early 90s show lead actor. [quote

awww..WTF...he was great on Night Court and Cheers...read he got a little weird after a bit

What seemed to caught my attention that he seemed like he aged a lot from the end of the series (92) or even the end of Dave's World (97) and then when I saw him on the Night Court reunion episode of 30 Rock (08) Just in a decade he looked really different. He always had a youthful look in the 90s. but he put on some weight and just looked differnet (more so than the normal aging process)

But very saddened by this, loved the Harry T Stone character, loved the show.

Art open lines is the only time I enjoy hearing "the folks" call in on any show ever. The suspense of not having a net with call screeners. He can deal with bad callers perfectly, but he just seems to get more interesting calls than other shows which always amazes me.

A few other guests come to mind. Art really was the first time i heard of Michio Kaku. It really launched him to mainstream success. Roger Leir alien implants was always a good listen as well.

Thanks for this, I was wanting to see his last posts on here. I am a bit surprised he hasn't been on since August.

If he taped a final show, it would be amazing. But I doubt it, in recent years he didn't seem much of a long term planning kind of guy.

I remember when Art started up MITD and was picked up locally. I was so hyped for it, as soon as it started it ended. But today I think it a day for positive and still sounded pretty darn good in MITD and his C2C days in the 90s were legendary

Shows never done and, now, never will:

1) He never told his Ouija Board story. He said he never would, and he never did.  He literally took it to his grave.  Having said that, I can't help but wonder what the hell happened?

2) A show on life in the Philippines and how life there is different from the USA.  As I have a lot of Philippino friends (and have even dated a few), I was really looking forward to this show.

Telly

What I thought today was that this year is the most mainstream media coverage of UFO ever with the NY Times doing an in-depth story of the military interactions with UFOs. I haven't followed Art on facebook (only the few times I might catch somebody posting it on here) would have loved to hear this thoughts on this and if he would give a big "I TOLD YOU SO"

As for Keith wanting it to be kept quiet. I know a lot of people who really cared for Art like a family member. That he would like to have days of rumors of "Is it true or isn't" and add added uncertain heartbreak to those people. Really says something.

I always enjoyed Art with Hoagland. There was always some humor in those shows because Art loved needling Hoggie. "As you can see, there's a ___ on the surface of the moon" "I don't see it" Hoagland starts getting upset lol  ;D "IT'S RIGHT THERE ART!"

One of the things that been really underrated about Art legacy is his use of the internet to compliment his radio program. Art was a legend in painting a picture with his words, but was also great in using online technology that you can go and follow photos of UFO, crop circles, ghosts, big foot, mars or moon close ups and also did the webcam stuff.

Really ahead of his time in that department during an era of dial up modems

I understand Noory not wanting to announce a death before he is certain. But when the Nye sheriff department announced it at 1am you think it wouldn't take 90 minutes to confirm. That was pretty much confirmation.

Not sure what to make out of his reaction, it seemed a bit forced but I can't really get into what's in somebody heart.

I normally avoid open lines but wanted to listen but my body gave out about half an hour into it unfortunately .

It's nice to see long lost posters checking in.

Unfortunately nothing gets people back together like a funeral. But I agree it is nice.

Always had mad respect for Art for going against the grain when he decided to do this type of show. It was the first AM shoe I would listen to, he was something special during his peak.

I remember the first time I heard Art on radio, I was flipping the dial for some reason and heard this story of UFO and cattle mutilation, it was a total "What the heck is this" moment. But the details and storytelling, Art asking all the questions I had, the build that kept you staying on segment after segment. It certainly hooked me.

It's amazing that Art still have influenced today that I didn't know he had. Last night I checked twitter and he was Third most US trending tweet when I last checked. (even though yesterday did have so me big news happening) Not sure if it went higher, but still showed a lot of people talked about him

Lisa who?  Lisa Kowski?  Who?

George said it was her father who recently died, not her husband.  "So, she is still married, in case you're wondering".   He put onto the same level a woman being newly single as a woman being recently widowed!  OMGoodness.  Her dad dies recently, and all he cares about is "she is still married".  What does her marital status have to do with anything?

I think they were talking about Lisa Murkowski (Sen-R Alaska) and I will admit I was half asleep during it but during the 3AM est hour the guest seemed to allude to Murk killing her husband? Which of course it's one heck of an allegation considering they were married in '87 and he's still alive.

A few minutes after Noory had his coincidental "Phone problems" where he proclaims that they lost the guest and might have to go to open lines for the rest of the night. I assume somebody told him his crackpot guest just accused somebody of a murder of a person that's still living.

I was really out of it in the 4am hour, but the guest returned and if you said it true that Noory tried to cover for it by saying her father passed away? Looking up online, it seems like her father Frank Murkowski is still alive at this years Congressional gold medal ceremony honoring Bob Dole.

He also said Murkowski is an "never Trumper" and said to vote down anything that's put up, even though she voted for the Tax Cuts in December. David Adair was pretty much all over the place and wrong on basic things. Must have been strange for Noory as he was hyping him because Noory give him some award over the weekend but the guest really sounded like a nut last night

Notice “gun control” doesn’t mention “public safety”, “children’s safety”. It’s as stupid as blaming car manufactures for car accidents. Or booze companies for DUI deaths. Or cigarette companies...oh look the idiots on the left do that to.

That actually is a real bad example. Car manufactures were blamed in the 60s for the high rate of car accidents deaths. They were pretty much death boxes compared to the cars of today. Lyndon Johnson created the " National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act" in 1966 (oooh scary big government) ever since, Motor vehicle deaths have dropped every decade.

We started having higher safety standards, mandatory crash testing, mandatory seatbelt laws, anti-lock breaks, airbags, booster seat laws, design the car to be safer etc etc. It became safer to drive a car.

Deaths per 100,000 population
1966 - 25.9
1976 - 20.9
1986 - 19.2
1996 - 15.9
2006 - 14.3
2016 - 11.6

Death by 100 Million VMT (Vehicle miles of travel)
1966 - 5.50
1976 - 3.26
1986 - 2.51
1996 - 1.69
2006 - 1.42
2016 - 1.18

Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan dies aged 46

Last night I got a chance to see The Commuter and it's a very Liam Neeson film. I thought it was fun but critics don't seem to like it, but whatever it old man Neeson walking up and down a train like a mad man beating people up, so that's enough for me  ;D Oh yeah and one of my favorite actresses is in it to..

What was with that woman desperately trying to give out her number on the air and Noory kept stopping her and she just ignored him and starts again giving out her number. I was only half paying attention did we ever find out what she wanted?

I seriously doubt you even read the lawsuit. It is interesting. I doubt it will go anywhere but the arguments are a bit compelling and cite the same stuff that the Clintons, and their media, bitched about at the time of their "troubles" with an "Independent" counsel investigating accused of going far afield ",ultra vires," from their brief (as you lot would call it.)

From C2C site

C2C is excited to announce our new affiliates in several Canadian cities: CIRH in Vancouver (starting 12/25), CFRB in Toronto (starting 1/1/18), and CFKR in Kelowna (starting 1/15/18). We are looking to replace several other markets in Canada, where there has been a switch-up. Stay tuned for further announcements.

Breath easy, it seems like they are just moving affiliates. Canada can still hear all their American right-wing talking points and snake oil medical advice.

Personally I would love to see C2C loses affiliates on any side of the border

I lost one game all year in my Fantasy League. This week starts the playoffs with me seeded #1. My starting QB has been Wentz and he gets injured right before the playoff round.  :-[

Rep. Trent Franks, facing ethics investigation, says he will resign immediately

On Thursday, the House Ethics Committee said it would create a special subcommittee to investigate Franks for conduct “that constitutes sexual harassment and/or retaliation for opposing sexual harassment.”

The investigation came after House officials learned that he had asked two female employees to bear his child as a surrogate.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/powerpost/rep-trent-franks-facing-ethics-investigation-says-he-will-resign-immediately/2017/12/08/bec2f630-dc55-11e7-b859-fb0995360725_story.html?utm_term=.5cd8c714c0ad

QuoteAP just added A former aide to Republican Rep. Trent Franks has told The Associated Press the congressman repeatedly pressed her to carry his child, at one point offering her $5 million to act as a surrogate...The former staffer said the congressman asked at least four times if she’d be willing to act as a surrogate in exchange for money. Franks, in his statement announcing his resignation, said he and his wife have struggled with infertility.

This story makes me wonder if I should watch the Handmaid's Tale

Representative Trent Franks (R-AZ) is resigning over allegations of inappropriate behavior.  No details yet.

https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/arizona/2017/12/07/trent-franks-said-stepping-down-congress/932052001/

The details are certainly strange on this one. Trent asked two women in his staff to be surrogate mothers for him. He was going to resign next year but his wife went to the hospital last night and he's resigning today.
