I think the title is perfectly said. It's the exaggeration of both sides. I think it does no favors when you portray anybody as an angel, you are just asking for people to find faults.

On the other hand and taking somebody possible worst moment and just seeing that same footage replayed all the time and say that the representation of that person can be very unfair.

As for the slippery slope argument (he started stealing, you know it will get worse) somehow that same argument is not said for drunk drivers. Should anybody with a hint of alcohol in their system get the same fate? They can be a danger to society too.

I agree with everything you said, and don't worry..  I used to go on many similar rants when I first joined.  It's all that decompression from discovering you're not the only one who thinks George and his guests are idiots (I use that word sparingly but sometimes it just fits better than anything else).  In time you'll become numb and just throw out one-liners like the rest of us.

:D Don't worry I am normally much more chilled and sarcastic than angry lol. I think I just got ticked off because just last night Noory went on about respecting others and not to offend and 24 hours later he has a guest calling his opposition Nazi's without even a comment from Jorch.

Nice call from that female caller just now.

I am more calm now, I had to get that rant out of my system. I hear the "It's snowing here, so that means there's no Global Warming" even locally and it just drives me up the wall cause it's such a lazy point. Because Australia could be having a major heat wave but there a flake of snow here that's enough proof for the deniers. Aww

I can't stand the hypocrisy of whining about scientist being mean to him yet he's the guy who goes on public radio and called the entire scientific  community the worst possible group in recent history.

Something quick about the Bitcoin discussion. It kind of shows how much of a jerk Jorch can be at times. Jorch was the guy who took the interview into a different direction during the interview (bringing up how people are getting aggressive ) during the first hour then later on in the second hour I caller called in and give his opinion about the aggression topic and Noory told him to stay on the Bitcoin topic. What the heck, Noory the guy who took the interview to that direction in the middle of it, then talks down to the caller for bringing that subject up again?

Can somebody please tell Jorch how much of a dumb f*ck he sounds when he says "___ is cold/snowing, so where's Global Warming?" That's literally as stupid as saying there's Burger King near my house, therefore there must be no such thing as famine. Or I live near water and have water, so there's no droughts anywhere . Wasn't it just a few weeks ago that the temperatures  were abnormally high. Again I don't mind debate, but is as narrow an argument as you can do.

What's more C2C predicable. First sign of snow have a global warning denier on even though the past weeks were above average in temperatures. Or whenever there's a national violence tragedy have the NRA on.

While I am on a rant, I like how Noory got all preachy about "Why do scientists have to get so personal against the deniers " or something like that. Well I don't know Jorch maybe because your a-hole guest compared  the entire scientific community Nazi in the first five minutes of the interview, and that you allowed just to slip by

Did Noory just say the winter been brutal so far? No it hasn't, it's been actually pretty calm (cold wise)

Regarding last night's guest calling the Southern Poverty Law Centre a 'hate group'.  Actually the group is one of the leading anti hate groups around.
While I doubt there are any antisemitic sentiments in the documentary, the film's executive producer Robert Sungenis has been found on the internet to have made a number of rather vile antisemitic comments.  Whether that is enough for the SPLC to protest the film can, I suppose, be debated.

Thank you. Once again we get half the story on C2C with Noory but the full story here. You are right that is much more up to debate as to why SPLC protest the film, but at least give the honest reason why they are protesting. Unlike Noory and his dishonest guest who kind of gave a straw-man argument and made up the reason why SPLC had a problem with it and argued against that

As for the beginning of yesterday show. I could understand somebody having this opinion, I don't agree with it, but I understand if somebody has the opinion of "don't rock the boat" or "poke the bear" etc. Again I don't agree with it, but if somebody lives their lives like that, I could appreciate that point of view.

What I DON'T understand is how on earth can a host of C2C have that opinion. His entire profession consists of guests questioning mainstream/safe opinion. As J. Einstein & 142 said a few pages back, there are countless times that Noory had topics on that could be considered offensive. As mentioned his anti-science guest yesterday to people taking tragedies and making a conspiracy about it (Hell they even alluded a bit on yesterday story) I sure some religious people are upset when he talk about aliens. There are many times his shows fan the flames of an already intense situation with exaggerations expressed by  himself or his guests.

Not sure if there's any South Park fans here, but the Noory/Corsi reminds me of the episode of South Park titled "Cartoon Wars" Where the townspeople (Norry) were worried because "Family Guy" was going to show a drawing and their solution is to literally bury the entire head in the sand. Cartman (Corsi) who is a known as an awful person acted really "offended" by it and wants pull the "FG" episode off the air. But in reality he didn't really give a damn about the drawing but just hates FG so wanted to use this as excuse to pull the entire show. Which sounded so much like Corsi last night as he multiple times brought up Family guy disrespecting his values and it looks like he's only using this to push his own agenda.

This was a bizarre exchange, even by Noory's standards. Cilente was talking about interviewing Connolly in a hotel in, I think, 1992.

Cilente: Nellie was there.
Noory: Nelly the singer?
Cilente: (after a suitably dumbfounded pause) No, his wife.
Noory: Oh. Because I know Nelly the singer.

That's a good transcript of what happened. The kicker was right at the end after Noory said he knew Nelly the singer. There was another awkward dumbfounded pause and Cilente continues with "Oh okay..." and continues on with his story  ;D

I have to say I find it odd that yesterday guest (I forgot which one) seems so offended/angry/upset that a political leader likes playing golf.  I never really get that, what a politician does in his/her off time really says nothing about what they do on the job. What difference if somebody likes playing golf or any other sport, or does crossword puzzles or plays music, or horseback riding in their free time. He mentioned the golf a couple (also angry he plays basketball) I just find that strange as that is something to be hung up with.

Although GDP grew swiftly in the last quarter, other numbers that attempt to predict the future are more mixed.  So saying "it's not so bad" is probably accurate.

I agree, but than again that would go totally against Fitts' "We are going down the toilet" prediction she was giving all of the previous year/years.

When I heard that I thought he HAS to be trolling this site. Right? That a special case of air-headiness. The only ET Noory should be involved in is Entertainment Tonight.  I think he'd be so much happier there.

Another thing that was kind of confusing from Noory, in the first half hour before Fitts came on he mentioned due to the economy doing better there will be less food stamps for people. Than he editorialized/mumbled something by saying I think "That's not good news". Did I hear that correctly? He didn't explain why that wouldn't be good news, wouldn't the economy doing better and less people needing to use assistance be good news? If anybody can get that first half hour and have a re-listen can tell me if he indeed said that.

As for Fitts, wasn't she a economic doom and gloomer since she came on C2C. Saying everything this admin is doing is going to ruin our economy. Now that the numbers are showing the economy didn't tank,  she comes on and says "It's not so bad".

Didn't Noory say he had an uneasy feeling about the upcoming year during the prediction shows, than during last night show he said he was positive feeling for the next year. I am sure after the doom and gloomer trend guys he will feel "uneasy" again.

Radio and Podcasts / Re: Dave Schrader

I enjoyed Saturday night show very much. She a very good story teller and had a fascinating story to tell.

I also forget what a good interviewer can do with the C2C format. Wow the interviewer actually utilized the three hours and talk about each stage of Susannah experience with depth and proper follow up questions. What a concept  ;D

Schrader going in depth every half hour about her early symptoms, her false diagnosis, her friends and family reaction as she gets worse, and finally the correct diagnosis was a good job on his part.

I like the strange and wacky. Once in a while I enjoy when a guest is so over-the-top absurd that you go "What the heck!?" Those could be enjoyable, not all the time, once in a while they are great to have a laugh at times.
Unsolved Mysteries
Space Science
Cryptozoology/Monsters/Creatures.
Prophets & future predictions in general
Ancient planet and society/Atlantis etc

I don't like the stuff you hear in mainstream and political shows.
When the NRA topics come on, there is nothing worse. Okay we get it, the only solution is more.
Climate Change deniers. These shows usually all over the place from Global Warming isn't happening to it's happening but so is Mars. I don't mind it's a true debate, but normally it's just guests contradicting themselves and Noory just agreeing.
Economic Doom and Gloomers
Numbers lady/personal psychic readings. Like I said on the New Years Day show. I don't care if Margarate is finding love
Self-help topics.

Radio and Podcasts / Re: Gorch's New Book?
January 03, 2015, 12:03:18 PM
I am not sure if I am reading too much into this but at 2:16AM eastern time on the Friday night/Saturday morning show right in the middle of with his interview with Alten the C2C official twitter account tweeted out NOT information on how to get the guest book but information how to pre-order Noory's book.

I just found that odd timing (and somewhat lack of class) that his show's twitter account was promoting Noory side stuff during the exact same time Jorch are interviewing somebody else.

I like the woman caller who described the awful state of the nation back when the late religious nut/doomsdayer Harold Camping predicted a date for the end of the world.  Everybody was so upset, according to her.

She said you could have cut the tension around her with a knife.  (George didn't give voice to having suffered a similar fright attack.)

It's hard to imagine the terror a crack-pot like Harold Camping caused among guileless people who already had enough to worry about in their day-to-day lives.

Then, of course, the world didn't end, and she said she breathed a sigh of relief.  Camping's next end times date didn't bother her nearly enough, thank God.

She seemed like a nice enough person and was living on a fixed income.  It had been a year of heavy expenses, her basement flooded and her furnace required a major repair.  The woman kept hinting around at George for one of those Christmas CD's.  She didn't have a computer to order one.  George said to talk to a friend with a computer.  None of her friends owns a computer.

George was aghast.  He derided her: "Nobody you know owns a computer?"

Of course, Tommy wasn't instructed to get her address so that a Christmas CD could be sent to her because George is an asshole.

My favorite part of the call is when Noory informed her that Camping past away in 2013 and she said that was a bad year for her also. Of course the curiosity is too much for Jorch to take, what could have happened to this lady that is on par with this dude death. Her reply... she had some plumbing problems. You can almost hear the air come out of Noory's balloon.

This dude build a time machine so he can go all the way back to the seventies...... The 1970s

I guess he watched That 70s Show and thought "I HAVE to know for certain if that's factually accurate"
#1186
Wait. Did Noory just say allude that cancer research is a money grabbing scam and there's a conspiracy to keep the funds coming. just an hour after he supported Alten who talked about donating funds for cancer research.

That is one heck of an eye-catching commercial

Catsmile, interesting point and you might have something there, she seems to have been a very underrated part of Art enterprise.

I'll give credit where credit is due, the Lake Vostok story was cool

Now to open lines. First caller out of a gate, political crap. Guy who said he read a conservative site about some big political conspiracy.

This Bill guy seems to be on the air more then the weekend hosts combined in a month.

Haha Jorch "relaxed" the 30 day call-in rule. In other words, it's getting harder for people to call in.
#1189
Thank you for the warm welcome.  :)

Quick note on yesterday (New Years "professional" prediction show) I know somebody in radio who always thought psychic personal readings to individual callers was the lowest common denominator in talk radio. That's it's very easy to get people to call in for that, but it horrible for the listeners because that only is interesting to the person getting the reading but the thousands who listen is excruciating because who care if Margaret finds love.

Numbers Lady very close to the top of the list of turning off automatically for me in C2C. I've got some time for Hogue, as he can be entertaining at times.

Hello, long time lurker, first time poster. Even before I was a full time C2C fan with Art I grew up always listening to the New Years Eve prediction show, it was just such a cool weird fun interesting show even before which brought me into the C2C culture. Listening to what Noory did to the tradition was just the saddest thing every on C2C and was so bad it motivated me to get on here.

First of his guest Pelton, I'll ignore his race-baiting but the thing I thought was so outlandish for C2C is when he said ""Social media makes people  suddenly think that the authority are out violate  you (I guess the you mean black people) and Noory of course agrees with him. HUH, Isn't C2C (and even Noory claims he is) a proponent of free speech? Isn't C2C all about alternative media, Isn't C2C all about believing in people over power. Now there's a guy on here that saying using social media to speak against the people in charge and Noory just nods his head with approval? So it's one of two things, either a) Noory a racist, he thinks certain people should have rights to speak up but not other ( I don't think Noory is a racist) or b) Noory is a total tool who really doesn't stand or believe in anything and willing to agree with every guest even if it totally contradicts C2C primary beliefs just so the hours can pass by (I think it's that)

Now finally we get to the prediction, and it's not much better. I HATE when C2C becomes political, I was attracted to C2C because it wasn't political. It WAS an alternative. Then we have caller after caller giving over-the-top partisan political calls and even worse real dumb the "so-and-so is a secret ___" which is just tiring now. What's worse it's the same sh*t for half a decade, Noory repeat previous years prediction which is the same sort of stuff. But somehow this year is REALLY going to show it!! The prediction show used to be about imagination and looking into the future, but with Snoory it just a repeat garbage from the past. I agree with Immy, Art's single rule on the prediction show is a good rule, you would think anybody with a sense of good taste and decency would follow that rule. Of course that something Jorch knows nothing about.

The singing, what about the singing. Ever watch Bill Murray "Groundhog Day" (I am sure Noory has he LOVES MOVIES) do you remember how Murray got annoyed and lost it when he had to wake up to "I got you babe" every day an a loop. That's how I felt listening to "Auld Lang Syne" over and over and over again, I went from "I like that song" to "I never want to hear it again!" in about half an hour. Which demographic wants to hear bad karaoke over the radio for a couple of hours, it's certainly not me. Sorry for the log rant, but that NYE show pushed me over the line which I just had to share my feelings.
