As I was saying in the News thread, I think this was dumb American Muslims and not outside professionals.

The fact is, the "outside professionals" are working harder and harder to recruit and connect with Islamic fundamentalists around the world.  This should be clear by now to anyone who is watching the story unfold.  That's one of their top modus operandi.  They connect and help others plan these kinds of attacks.  And I wouldn't ascribe stupidity to anyone in this.  It's not a case of smart or dumb etc, it's a case of how whacked out and ballsy and ready to kill the individuals are.

Yeah, even in allegedly moderate countries like Indonesia, they supposedly polled people and a large number said it was ok to kill infidels, people who leave the religion should be killed, and many more primitive things, etc.

As I was saying in the News thread, I think this was dumb American Muslims and not outside professionals. This was a really shitty terrorist attack that will be forgotten in a week because the attack was poorly executed. If this was ISIS regulars, we would have had a triple digit bodycount at the Super Bowl or something crazy and unable to ignore.

Once it came out today Muslims were behind the attack, the media immediately cut the story off and went to other things. A professional attack wouldn't have allowed that.

There's a rumor going around ISIS was funding these idiots with Bitcoin and the guy in custody was the recruiter but I doubt it.

    It pretty much shows that the terrorists were foreign. There are better guns- more accurate, more easy to get ammo, and easier to get in the US- than this one.
    The [San Bernadino attackers] must have trained on these, so even if they did get them here (not impossible), they did so because of their training abroad. (For example, the AR-10 is more accurate, has a longer range, and is about the same price).

You're absolutely right about that. But in my opinion funding some guy to go whack the people he hates at his holiday party isn't a good investment. I have no doubt this guy was a wacky Muslim but were hardcore ISIS boogeymen involved? Outside of this guy maybe watching some ISIS video in between tentacle porn, I don't think so.

Yeah I found a guy who's a Century 21 real estate agent, and he's also a member of a right-wing neo-Nazi biker gang who's leader and other members were arrested on weapons and explosives charges by the FBI.
