so this theater in Everett WA holds 826 people, the average ticket price is about $75 - gross revenue $62,000. I have no idea how much the theater rental is, $10,000? you know they are paying the guests shitty, probably costs the two big time promoters Dannheiser and Wagner or whatever her name is $5000 to bring them in. Noory probably demands $10,000-20,000 and what's left after expenses is split between them.

The guest is a psychologist who has studied 'heroism'. Noory takes the opportunity to tell a little story featuring himself, of course, as a hero. He was at a restaurant in St. Louis, a guy stole the purse of a female patron of the restaurant and took off out the door, Noory doing what any manly man would do, he chases the thief down the street, he's in such excellent physical condition Noory soon runs him down and then tackles him to the ground and holds him down - other people come to help and then the police. They take the thief away. As Noory explained it because everybody knows him in St. Louis he gets a call later that night from the police, they told him the perpetrator was found to have had a 16" knife in his pocket! Jeeze!

Herd immunity when nobody knows if and how much immunity those who've had the virus will have. The last couple of days there has been some optimistic news that there may be long term immunity - if this does prove out then yes we should definitely go with that strategy for most of the population. But there have also been many reports that this virus leaves quite an impact on various systems in the body so maybe i don't want it even if i would mean immunity and helping end this shit.

And then even more cowardly he adds 'Something to think about Howard'.

that show interviewing the Coast fill-in hosts was classic Noory. as expected the Connie Willis interview was a cringefest, hard to find 2 stupider people, she had absolutely nothing to offer by way of anecdotes, basically admitted she knows nothing about any of this paranormal shit including BigFoot.

I am a radioholic, been listening to talk radio since I was a young kid, a bit unusual but we had a local guy in the evenings I really liked - the callers were mostly older people and being a Buffalo station many had the thick Great Lakes Polish American working class accent which made it more amusing - it was mostly political talk and whatever the big news story of the day was. Half the callers were racists and bigots and rather than get into confrontations the host would egg them gently on to say something even more stupid and racist. I have listened to hundreds, many hundreds considering I'm in my 50's now and still listen to a shit ton of radio, and George Noory is indeed the dumbest, laziest talk host I've ever heard. I've said it before here, he could do a banal morning show in a medium sized market on a low rated station no problem, there are plenty of George Noory's out there in radioland. But he should have never been allowed anywhere near a nationally syndicated program with Art Bell's legacy attached to it.

The big news today is that the current version of the virus is not the one that began in Wuhan, it's mutated into a much more contagious pathogen. The NY Times got their hands on a leaked WH document that says by June we'll be up to 3,000 deaths a day.

I've been very careful up til now with the social distancing, hand washing and wiping everything i bring in with Lysol wipes. I'm not going looking to get the damn virus but I'm done with worrying about every damn thing I touch or every damn cough I hear. We're all going to get this thing. If you're over 60 or have a health condition that is associated as a major risk if you get the virus then stay at home and away from spreaders if you can. There will be many deaths of healthy younger people, they don't know why some people succumb to this but their guess is there are genes responsible where immune systems of healthy people go haywire when faced with this particular bug.

I also can't believe how ignorant conservatives are with their promotion of 'herd immunity' as the solution for the pandemic. There is ZERO proof so far that once having the virus you become immune, they think the presence of antibodies automatically means immunity, it doesn't. We get the common cold virus, we develop antibodies to it, they provide immunity for about 2 weeks. we get the flu virus, develop antibodies and no long term immunity. So while herd immunity is possible it isn't likely. We need a therapeutic solution or a good vaccine. The vaccine developers I'm sure were not happy with today's news that the virus has mutated, for some it probably means several steps backwards.
