I remember "Hell Is For Children"

That was Benatar.

Heather's a bit slow on the draw when it comes to handling callers.

This guest is lame:  "There's no evidence a Yeti caused this" ... but his cheesy Discovery channel doc basically had a scene where a "yeti" tried to bust into his cave camp.  I actually bought into that cheesy show for a while till that part.  ::)

Good on ya Heather for giving the guy some grief on all this.

Is that the one where some photos taken by the party  were supposedly stored for decades, one of which seemed to show some dark creature behind some trees?

One of the big winners (I forget which movie) actually dedicated their speech to the LGBT community.

I'm writing a screenplay featuring a transgender single mom fighting to stop oppression after a nuclear meltdown.  Oscar guaranteed.

Ha.  Don't forget to mention Bellgab in your speech.

Just heard a clip of DiCaprio's acceptance speech, warning us not to take our planet for granted.  So let's see, racism and global warming were checked off.  Who carried the LGBT banner at the show?

Pioneering promoter of sci-fi books and films, the late Forrest J. Ackerman, never believed in an afterlife of the soul; nonetheless, he promised a few respected colleagues that if it were to turn out that he was wrong, he would try to send messages from the Other Side. Author, UFO researcher, and filmmaker, Paul Davids, joins George Knapp to describe in hair-raising detail Ackerman's numerous unusual and uncanny messages from beyond, including impressive scientific support of an afterlife. First hour guest, filmmaker Keith Arem, discusses the unsolved disappearance case of four Phoenix residents who went missing (video link) the night of the "Phoenix Lights" in March 1997.

I really respect Knapp as a host.  That said, I opine that tonight's bosh is more befitting Noory or Garr.  I really hope the first hour guest brings his A game.

I dig that song.

I am horrible with musical artists, but he sounds like some old-school country singer to me.  Not Merle.

ediot:  Why it immediately reminded me of this sort-a throwback song, I dunno:

To me he (Simpson) sounds, and looks, like Joe Diffie.

I lost count after 40, but that was in like 10 minutes.  He dropped at least 6 times that many.

To put this in perspective, it probably takes Noory a month to offer "amazing!" that often.

I logged on just to mention it hard to focus on the topic when the guest keeps dropping okay !!! all......... the .......... time lol

he just give an "okay, alright, okay"

If anybody can listen back and give me a total number of okays, that would be great. Okay  :D

Haha, you beat me to the trifecta report- that was impressive.  Honestly I wish I would have kept count.  He has to be in the neighborhood of 50.

Nah.  It was a brief call.  The show topic is the student loans situation, and his contribution was to mention the little guy always gets hurt.  George actually plugged his YouTube site..

From a political perspective, Tim Scott might be the best possible choice as Trump's VP.  But Scott is endorsing Rubio, so that might eliminate him from consideration.

He had a few chances to explain his connection with these mob guys but didn't want to say. Got cold feet or something. George had to let him go.

I believe George thought he was full of it, hence the sarcastic "Sorry you got screwed out of the movie" bit in reference to the caller's claim.

Maybe, just maybe, women don't belong in the locker room.

Remember when Sam Wyche banned a female reporter from the Bengals locker room?

QuoteThat whole "great American" stuff is thrown around way too liberally.  Too few deserve it.

In principle that's essentially inarguable.  But it's more a lighthearted salutation not to be taken seriously.

QuoteI cannot stand a lot of sports talk guys either.

I'm still a fan of sports, though not to the extent I once was.  But as a group I have found there are too many frat boy types in that field.

QuoteGlen Beck and Clyde Lewis, our Mormon members of the sucky radio hosts hall of shame.

They're okay in my book.  I think Lewis is a pretty solid host for the most part, but I tire of the perpetual apocalyptic conspiracy.  It'd be nice if he'd do more paranormal stuff.

That is what I tried to point out but he just ignored it.  For God's sake , they took many vacations together.   They were great friends.  If anything  that shows what a tolerant man Scalia was and that he valued friendship over politics.

I probably should have scrolled back a bit before posting that.  It's certainly telling of the man that someone who actually worked alongside him, essentially as his judicial negative, would regard him as her "best buddy".  Much more so than what the Democratic Underground types would offer.

I suppose my retort to '136 or 142' would be to ask him why Ruth Ginsburg, a Justice I am confident he adores, held Scalia in such high esteem.

I believe you're referring to Bill Cunningham.  Yes, the attorney-turned-Springer talk show host who, without a doubt, has an undeniable face for radio.   ???

He's the originator of it, though Hannity has also used it for some time now- at least I assume he still does.  Cunningham is much better on his own show in Cincinnati IMO than on his syndicated Sunday night show.  He's actually pretty funny.

I'm of a similar opinion. But one thing about Church I don't care for much is his weird affectation in his voice. To me it sounds like he's about ready to swallow his throat...something like that. It's kind of a "on the verge of a gargle" thing I'm hearing.

I actually think his voice is one of his strengths- like the guy or not he's got the chops for the airwaves.  I suppose one impression I get with the limited exposure I've had to him is that he perhaps tries to be too chummy with his guest(s).  But again that's based on a very small sample size.

I hope they are on with another host like Knapp or on another network with a better interviewer. He was better with the Star Trek guy but even there is could've been better and seemed to be cut short. But the "split show" format that C2C insists on is also to blame I suspect.

Bingo.  I also agree that the interview was a bit choppy, and probably not his best effort.  I really haven't listened enough to Church to develop an informed opinion on him.  I don't care at all what he did or didn't do regarding Art.

So who else can't wait till the draft?  I have long since grown tired of the Combine, Pro Days, etc. that precede it, but the draft itself is one of my favorite events in all of sports.  You get a sense of  how much the NFL dominates the sports landscape when you consider that the draft routinely out-rates (a real word?) actual contests from MLB and the NBA.

Maybe Cam was trying to get to a phone booth when he fumbled that ball.  Maybe one of the Bronco defenders grabbed him by the cape.  Who knows?
