You forgot Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which Noory would pronounce to be "a classic" -- certainly not a controversial statement and one with which even the greenest movie reviewer would agree. Noory always does go out on a limb when making these types of executive proclaimations!
i might seem like a douche to some by saying this, but i didn't enjoy that movie AT ALL.  i just didn't.  don't get me wrong, i'm a movie lover and i'm also partial to that genre, but i just wasn't taken by it in any way.  i also have a tough time tolerating richard dreyfuss.  however, at the same time i will acknowledge what about bob? as one of my all time favorites, despite the inclusion of dreyfuss.  however, he was perfect for that role.  absolutely perfect.  i get the feeling he didn't even have to act.

Marijuana sucks.
any substance can be used irresponsibly.  from super glue to wooden spoons, there are plenty of people who will improperly use nearly anything you could put in front of them.  i don't think it inherently means all of these items/substances should be rendered illegal.

furthermore, i think if the ill effects of any drug are truly of concern to the prohibition crowd, they should turn their gaze to the pills legally sold by big pharma... pushed by lobbyists... and endorsed by paid (bought) legislators.  the cdc says over 300,000 people are killed each year in the usa due to adverse pharmaceutical reactions.  i will concede, however, that in 2009 approximately 11,000,000 orders were placed to papa john's due to pot use.

hell, if you ask me, that means not only is pot likely the safest drug known to man with thousands of years of use to back up that claim, but it's also a major source of economic stimulus.

LETS PRETEND LIKE ITS THE 90'S, THE ECONOMY IS BOOMING, AND ART IS LIVING IN NEVADA.
i share your feelings about the 1990s.  i think about it a lot, as a matter of fact.  the 90s were so awesome in so many ways, especially the second half.  lots of great memories.  they were my 1960s.  oh, and i love you, too.

Remy Stern taking about infomercials.  Pretty interesting, actually.  I was shocked to hear the video professor is scamming people, so I did a little google and heck if it ain't true.  Here's a link to a bunch of complaints about that old coot:  http://www.consumeraffairs.com/education/video_professor.html
     Just can't trust anyone.
     Nice work, Ian.
wow.  i read some of the complaints on that page.  did you see the one from the woman whose account was debited for like $400 or something and now she can't pay rent?  HELLO, PEOPLE:  FILE A CLAIM WITH VISA!!!  duh.  i shouldn't be so condescending, though.  i guess a lot of people aren't aware of the options afforded them.

was sean david morton actually indicted or just sued?  i'm not clear on this.

151 here.
i noticed in the first 50 signatures i viewed, george noory himself apparently has signed it three times.  clearly, he too wants out.

the two threads are merged here.  just wanted to provide clarification for any confused souls.

On the decimation of the American middle class, the movement of manufacturing to low cost centers around the globe certainly hasn't helped, and is probably the main contributor to the dramatic loss in jobs that traditionally supported many middle class families.
couldn't agree more.

while i would assess myself as a conservative (on the whole), i feel compelled to qualify that self assessment by adding that i'm also a populist.  i have for a long time felt at odds with others in "my" camp who feel that free trade is ALWAYS good for us.  "free trade at any cost!" they shout.  this vacuous philosophy depresses me.  it represents a complete inability to look just a couple decades into our future without manufacturing jobs.  we can not sustain ourselves over the long term as a service economy while sending all of our wealth to china, an enemy state, in exchange for their poisonous products manufactured by what can only be classified as slave labor.  a decline in our standard of living is an inevitable result, and that decline is already here today.  just look around.  scratch that.  just look at your PERSONAL circumstances today.  if i hear the simplistic, worn out blacksmith analogy used one more time in an attempt to make me think manufacturing in the usa is obsolete in 2010, i'm going to begin raping people in order to blow off steam.  i'm a proponent of protectionist trade.  there, i said it.  i guess that makes me a traitor to the "conservative" cause.  i'm ok being called a traitor, though, because i think people like me are the real conservatives.

in some regards he might have been eccentric (the word is crazy when you're not rich), but people for years laughed at ross perot as he warned of the impending "sucking sound" we would hear when jobs would be exported to third world shit holes like mexico in the name of free trade thanks to globalist billionaire approved measures like nafta.  go try to find a factory job with which you can take care of your family for the next thirty years.  who's laughing now?

you know, the resurgence of this thread reminds me of a dream i had last night.

michael jackson's daughter released to the media a video she had recorded in a clandestine fashion in which it was revealed that michael jackson had been surgically altered (by his own choosing) in such a way that he now possessed a vagina.  you could clearly see it in the video as he knelt down while wearing a short skirt with no panties underneath.  it was very red and fleshy, in almost a "40-ish used up porn actress" kind of way.

no, i am not making this dream up for the purpose of being shocking or anything.  this is exactly the dream i had last night.  yikes.  i just felt the need to document it here for future generations.

just found a guy, Kevin Smith, that talks similar topics to the OLD coast.  HE TAKES CALL UNSCREENED!.  Thats all that matters.  Its very enjoyable and he seems like a reasonable guy.  i have only been listening for an hour.  this might be posted in the wrong forum, but traffic is so light i wanted to make sure people saw it
where can we listen?

...it's near-impossible to find objective information because even the scientists are playing politics with this issue.
agreed.  that's why i think we should perhaps refrain from destroying western economies based on information that seems inherently to lack objectivity.

You are all insane, uneducated, hate-filled children.

Stupid too...
you've taken a bit of a leap, here.  who said EVERYBODY here believes obama is ineligabbulehx to be president?  i never said that, nor was it asserted by anybody here other than the OP from what i can see.

if merely disliking obama's political leanings or opposing his agenda warrants calling people insane, uneducated, stupid hate-filled children, then i stand guilty as charged.  proudly.

Rahm Emanuel must have personally taken charge of this himself.
imagine if someone came into your bathroom as you're showering to poke your chest because you failed to answer the census questions in an appropriate and timely manner.   hooooly shite.

Dude what the fuck are these two morons talking about -- Snoory and Alex Jones. I just got my census form the other day and it doesn't ask any of the invasive questions they're referring to. It doesn't ask how much your mortgage is..

F these two idiots. They're going to look like asses when a million listeners get their census forms this week and think "What the hell were they talking about?"
same here.  mine asked nothing of the sort.  funny how many people who listen to c2c think they're actually at the cutting edge of news or something.  and alex jones is an arse log, no doubt about it.  sad thing about him is he's the perfect guy to trot out there if you want to discredit the tea-party movement or any other anti-government movement.  in other words, he's a complete tool.

I found that interesting because recorded history doesn't begin until 5,000 years ago and we generally have no idea what the fuck happened before that. So I wonder if she has any concept of ancient history or if she just thought up a number that sounded cool and decided to go with it. I listened for about 15 more minutes and turned it off.
not only that, but to my knowledge, the modern human in our current physical form has only been around for about 20,000 years.  c2c really is a joke.

How very FOX to talk about it from the POV of "This little piggy is gonna cost us all big bucks!"

Good lord - I mean - really - they even LEAD with that - it's not an "and oh BTW"
i don't think that's necessarily a fox gimmick so much as it's just a journalism gimmick in general.

i know from my own experiences in a newsroom that a news director will hammer people to take an otherwise self explanatory story and give it some sort of bullshit twist that supposedly makes it more relevant or pertinent to the reader/listener/viewer.  this is especially prevalent as a newsroom attempts to take a national story and shoehorn it into something of local concern.  the whole journalism industry is bullshit, and people who have never seen how a story goes from nonexistence to existence or how it is manipulated from beginning to end would be astonished that they ever gave the news as much of their attention as they did, or assigned as much credibility to it as they did.  as i looked at this story, i could just HEAR the conversation in the fox newsroom meeting.  goosebumps.

Ummm...because it would not actually be a debate and NASA knows that...
this is true, and it was the first thought i had when reading valdez's question.

however, truth usually rises to the top, and it's why i wouldn't think a nasa sanctioned debate with hoagland would be such a bad idea under appropriate circumstances.  i've heard hoagland debate a real scientist before, and he had his ass handed to him.  the example i'm thinking of at the moment is his debate with edgar mitchell.  art was the host, which could account for a significant portion of the balance and sanity associated with this debate.  hoagland's crackpot theories and harebrained suppositions came across as woefully unprepared, paranoia driven bilge.  i'd like to see that happen again.

I'm a big Zeppelin fan.  I've heard lots of "tribute" bands attempt to bottle the Zeppelin sound and re-sell it to those willing to buy.  However, they've all ALL left a lot to be desired in a lot of ways, particularly in impersonating Robert Plant's voice.  Just a couple days ago, I discovered a YouTube series called "Virtual Zeppelin."  These guys are apparently in different locations (Canada 1, USA 2, Japan 1) and they record their parts to be pieced together in a production studio.  It's just amazingly faithful to the original Zeppelin recordings.  I've never heard anything like it.  If you're a Zeppelin fan, you'll appreciate this.

Virtual Zeppelin-Over The Hills And Far Away

Virtual Zeppelin - The Lemon Song (Led Zeppelin cover)

Virtual Zeppelin-Ten Years Gone

Virtual Zeppelin - Misty Mountain Hop

well, then.  now THIS one is dead too.  funny how a tv network doesn't want you to actually be able to WATCH the network.

i guess rupert murdoch doesn't have enough money.  i've got to go out and pay for 75 cable tv channels so i can have access to ONE channel that i actually want to watch.

The obvious question  occurred to me after listening to Hoagland for the umpteenth time talk about some NASA conspiracy to keep us in the dark about alien structures in space:  Why doesn't George get somebody from NASA to come on the show and answer for their scandalous behavior?  A debate with RCH would be very cool.  Heck, even just a straight interview with whoever the chief honcho is would make for a decent c2c evening.
agreed.
