Politics / The Treason Thread
February 05, 2018, 11:14:27 PM
If you’re not deeply troubled by a POTUS who enthusiastically endorses the idea that the opposition party is guilty of treason for not applauding him during a speech, please explain in your own words how that's any different from the way North Korea rolls. If you disagree, please explain why, and don't be afraid to torture your logic.

“And who would ever believe I owe it all to this nutty guy? Does he have a plan for world domination, or what? When he told me he could arrange for me to win the nomination and beat ‘Crooked Hillary’--his idea, by the way--and make it look like an accident, I honestly thought his brain had turned to cottage cheese from an untreated dose of clap he caught from Paula Deen Jones or some Miss Arkansas runner up he boinked back when he was governor. Am I right, ladies?”

How To Use BellGab / Picture viewing issue
January 01, 2017, 03:20:45 PM
I recently posted a couple of pictures that I can see on the board only when I'm logged in, although I can see others I posted around the same time without logging in. Does anybody know what would cause that? Thanks!

Feel free to damn with faint praise when it's appropriate, too.

Here goes: "I don't say this to just anyone, baby. But you smell exactly like my grandma did when she and my latest new grandpa and uncle got back from Sturgis when I was eight."

It's probably not a good idea to talk about the Queen on Independence Day in these here parts.

After seeing all the rancor and butt hurt on display here today, this must be the Airing of the Grievances phase.  Can't wait to see the Feats of Strength!

He's branched out to past lives, and will be trying to squeeze a few drops out of the chapped udders of that tired old bovine on C2C tonight.  Too bad, because I used to be a fan, and even though I've come to believe he's always been part of the disinformation and misdirection campaign to cover up the crash of a classified experimental U.S. aircraft at Roswell, it's kind of disappointing to see him flogging the past lives topic now.

How To Use BellGab / Image posting options
July 15, 2015, 11:31:16 AM
I recently noticed that when I want to post an image, I don't see the full-sized image option that used to be there.  All I can do is post thumbnails.   Did something change, or is that just another instance of new technology leaving my antiquated computing machine in the dust?  Thanks!

While I'm eagerly counting the days to Art's triumphant return, the complicated twists and turns of the myriad plot lines of As the Butthurt Turns, aka Bellgab, have become way too difficult to follow on a daily basis, especially since I have a lot on my plate this summer.  Therefore, I'm taking a little break, but will check in from time to time to see if the place is still standing. Please feel free to use this thread for whatever floats your boats and creams your Twinkies.  Namaste, bitches, and Happy Pancake!

At least that's what this person claims - http://www.thebeatlesneverexisted.com/.

I just started reading the site, but it promises to be entertaining.  Much of the "proof" is based on an exhaustive analysis of Paul's ever-changing eyebrows and fluctuating height.  Fake ears apparently have something to do with it as well, but that part hasn't been posted yet.

It should come as no surprise that some people believe they were Illuminati "Puppets/Clones" - http://www.thebeatlesneverexisted.com/botr/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=17

Sounds like it has all the makings of a really wacky C2C show.

Tomorrow is "International Talk Like a Pirate Day," which really should be called "Talk Like Robert Newton Day" in honor of the British actor who created the manner of speaking that just about everyone today associates with pirates with his iconic portrayals of Long John Silver in the 1950 version of "Treasure Island," and Blackbeard in 1952.  If it hadn't been for Newton, it's quite likely we wouldn't think that pirates spoke in a raspy growls and began all their sentences with "Yarrrrrr!"  So crack open a bottle of Pusser's Navy Rum and drink deep to Robert Newton, me hearties, and ponder the mystery of how pirates really talked, because nobody really knows.  Maybe they sounded like Pee Wee Herman.

Radio and Podcasts / Coast Insider Dork of the Week

I'm starting this thread because these people deserve to be singled out for ridicule recognized for the many qualities that make them special.

So, without comment, because his CV eloquently speaks volumes for itself, I nominate Eric, aka White Soaring Eagle, for the first CIDotW award.

"My life exists between multiple worlds. I'm a person of many interests. I'm a Software Test Engineer, Musician, Shaman, Consciousness Researcher, and Journalist. I'm also a Reiki Master/Teacher and Spiritual Councilor who is ordained through the Universal Life Church. I’ve also taught remote viewing to many people from many different walks of life with my own protocol known as Intuitive Sensation. Though one thing that really gets me is that you guys have been focusing on too much on demons and demonic activity way too much. There’s already enough to worry about without having some religious negativity being thrown at us on a constant basis. Otherwise, keep up the great work! I’m loving the show and have been an Insider since 2006."

You won't find better value for the money! And it's worth it just for "Bristol's Blog," because unwed teen moms who've had elective plastic surgery have, y'know, like lots of important things to say and stuff.

Random Topics / Cool historical stuff thread

After my dad died, we found a set of pictures taken in a French town during WWII.  It shows a fascinating sequence that starts with a German force leaving the town, obviously in bad shape as many of the troops are riding bicycles and horse-drawn carts, and others are actually pushing trucks, that must have run out of gas, down the street.  Those are followed by pictures of a good sized U.S. force, with tanks and various other vehicles entering the town.  The first shots were taken from a second story window, by someone (probably an advance scout of some sort) who was clearly standing back in the room to avoid being seen.  As the U.S. force enters, the photographer is standing out on the balcony outside the window from where he took the first shots.  There are also some very cool shots of what appears to be the local resistance group.

Unfortunately, I know nothing about where or when these were taken.  My dad never mentioned them or showed them to us, and as far as I know, he was a clerk/typist with a bomber group who never saw any action, so I have no idea how he would have obtained them.  Anyway, here's a few of my favorites.  If anybody wants more, I'll be happy to provide them upon request.

He says his opponent was hanged a few years ago, along with a few other members of Congress, by the World Court in the Ukraine.  I must have been absent that day.

Mine is one worn by a glowering, bulky middle-aged person with a gray mullet and a big, blocky completely androgynous body type walking around at a small town festival.  It said, "I'm Not Your Sexual Preference."  My immediate, though unvoiced reaction, was, "Who's asking?"

A close second is, "The liver is evil and deserves to be punished."

I've long believed that the best way to settle the dispute over whether or not to allow prayer in public schools is to allow it with no restrictions and leave it to each school district to figure out the specific details.  As rancorous as the dispute over school prayer is between those in favor and those opposed, its nothing compared to the carnage that would ensue if a couple of dozen different religious factions had to decide how to implement a prayer program.  The first item of business would be who would lead the prayers.  Teachers?  You mean the same teachers who would rather promote multi-culturalism and the gay agenda, and pass out condoms willy-nilly?  Not a chance.  Then how about Father Mike, the Catholic priest?  Sure, over the dead bodies of all the Protestants.  How about a Protestant minister? Okay, but which denomination?  Would we get an enthusiastic "Amen" for one or the other, or is it more likely they'd all start fighting like a pack of starving dogs over the last Jerky Treat?  It's not hard to imagine how the smart money would bet on that one.  Of course, they could always go with a rabbi, imam, or lama.  Ha ha, just kidding.  Like that's ever going to happen.

And what about the fundamentalists?  Not likely.  Given the multitude of doctrinal disagreements between the various groups, they wouldn't be able to find common ground if they were all dropped in the same field.  Even if they did eventually reach an agreement,  they'd have to convince the Catholics and mainstream Protestants to go along with the decision. That one's not going to be resolved before the sun goes supernova and renders the whole dispute irrelevant.

So, I say let's allow prayer in schools, because the resulting gridlock will ensure that it never comes to pass.
