OMG I have one also, still in original box.
I think mine is setting under an Apple IIe, buried under boxes of IBM 360 punch cards.

Reddit kind of sucks.

Yes, but it has 36 million user accounts with 169 million unique visitors per month.

QuoteAll the responses to anything are either horrible puns that go on for a yard or repeated jokes such as "Well that escalated quickly"

I don't know what to say to you here. It's like I don't even know you anymore.

When I first discovered reddit not too long ago I came across a porn actress ama. (don't judge) I think she was looking for donations or something. She stayed really polite to even the more depraved questions. I think if a young porn actress can handle it Art Bell will have no problem.
Ummmmm Art's dignity is still intact sooooooo you lost me

A couple of good ways to get used to reddit, which is the true front page of the internet right now, is to use this link as your entry point:

https://www.reddit.com/r/all/

It is an endless list of the most trending things on all of reddit, and the goal of this  Art Bell AMA is to get it to the "front page," which means to the top of this endless list. You can do your part to help by registering at reddit and then starting to click the "up" arrows as a vote or push up.

To make your time on reddit extremely pleasant, you really should add the "Reddit Enhancement Suite" into whatever browser you're using. You find the add-in or extension listed in each browser's goodie page.

It is a huge audience if we can bump the Art Bell AMA to the front page. Big media often talks about the reddit bounce that destroys servers, just the way they used to talk about the Coast bounce. So, yes, it's a very important venue.

This is where all media gets their stories earliest, or if there's a catastrophe, it will be here on the reddit front page within seconds and is often the best source of the breaking news. It's very weak on UFOs and such, which is where we all come in.

Great info, Nancy. You've convinced me. Sounds like Reddit is definitely the Gateway to the World these days. Time to register, home page it and get with the program. Now I've got Twitter, FB and Reddit. So long, Ludditeville!

I think her chosen profession wasn't the important part of the post. We were all trying to insulate Art from trolls which is what People Who Love Art do. I was just saying I think he can handle it.

I'm still wrapping my head around how he's never heard of Reddit before. Hey, Art, there's this thing called the Georgia Guidestones, it's been around awhile, hopefully someone will call in and tell you all about it!
That's cause yer just a youngster, a li'l whipper snapper.  Don't worry,  you'll be an old phart before ya know it. ;)

I'd just be renting in this new digital paradise for a while before you decide to sell up and live there permanently. Ludditeville isn't so bad. It's quieter for a start. People can usually manage a sentence without inserting 'like' in after every couple of words. After about ten seconds of looking at that Reddit page I had to get out of there  before I went insane.

He's probably heard of it, like me, but I hardly know much more about it than him. It all looks so scruffy on there for one thing, it puts me off. At least it's a bit more ordered on here. When I look at Reddit I feel like I am staring right into the dead eyes of some moronic 19 year old who will faint if he doesn't check his phone every two bloody minutes.
You have more knowledge of Reddit than I do.  I've heard of it, but I've never ventured there till a few days ago.  I think I want to do some research on that place first.  I don't think going in there blind and stumbling around in the dark is a very good idea lol.

It depends who's administering said arrow.

And don't be vulgar!

Roswells, Art

Could we get a link to the exact thread we should up arrow here?

SaucyRossy

Ok I'm back with the living.

So anyone on here who is familiar with reddit that would like to help me tomorrow during the AMA I would ask that you send me a pm for details.

The AMA will be posted 30 mins before the official start time. We will then let the questions come in and all of us on bellgab who use reddit should be very helpful to use reddit the right way by upvoting great questions for art and doing the opposite for bad ones.

As far as reddit goes. Yes it's a bit of the lions den of the Internet, yes it has its downsides, BUT it's upsides of 8.6 million subscribers on the IAMA sub alone far out weigh the downsides.

This hopefully will bring a large number of people to the new show.

Yeah, hold your fire everyone. Then when we're told, let rip and stick Reddit with more arrows than Custer.

Fair enough. Although your eloquent reply might have carried a little more weight if you'd previewed it first. Those 70 hour weeks must have taken their toll.

They did take a toll although I wasn't really concerned about who much "weight" I carried. Ipad mini  plus fat fingers are my excuse.

There's something odd going on in Ludditeville.  Everyone has some form of interpersonal skills that don't require an electronic device.  I really have no idea how this works -- maybe witchcraft.  Definitely paranormal; might be a good topic for Art's show some night.
