I would say that one show is in the ICU on some pretty extensive life support.  The other show departed Rampart 2 week ago and looks to be in pretty good health.

What are vey-gas odds on Heather making it back on the air?

I hope so I wanna listen.

This whole radio thing has become a very small world. I cant imagine talking to bill cooper like this back in the 90s. Its both good and bad.

stargazr1976

I remember the day I called allan wiener in the am. I said your dead air brother. He said no no everything is fine here at bcq. Lmao. Then I asked him if he knew glen hauser. Within five minutes transmitters were on the air. Times keep a changin.

Spooky Tim... if you catch this... have you or anyone you know ever performed any ghost hunts in a dead mall? All the ghost shows I have seen in the past seem to target homes, hotels, restaurants, asylums, graveyards, museums, factories, etc. Not saying it hasn't been done, just haven't seen it. Of course there is Dawn of the Dead and Clyde Lewis' Orange Julius monster, but a crossing of malls and ghosts seems rare.

I'm hanging out on a forum named after a dead guy. Assuming that I have 25 cents to spare just goes too far.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled boredom after this short but important product announcement.

I'm sorry, I keep floating in and out with my boring self. I found this article from 1999 that talks about Art Bell suing and a bit about his studio being used to film for the dating site. Granted, it's from the Washington Post, but I thought it was interesting.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/lifestyle/1999/05/29/the-resolved-mystery-of-art-bell/e3e69bd3-3c23-4c39-9836-22b863f43e6e/?utm_term=.2b6469b47ce1

So the more we learn, the more things Oates claimed assume an air of truth. Seems more like Art disappeared when such claims started hitting too close to home.

oats still talks about it.

stargazr1976

Working night shift for 5 years gave me a lot of time to hear most of it. 8)

Now I will try to heal.

stargazr1976

Hell I used to hang my shortwave in the six floor window and let it record to mp3 but then wtww and bcq both dropped the show.

As to some of the criticisms of Art brought up on Gabcast... Don't we all have a little bit of a sleazy side. A little bit of an idiosyncratic side. Some just suppress it more than others.

I've always been drawn to dead resort, malls & amusement park photos. Mainly in Japan but the one that sticks in my mind most is the Catskills.  https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-ghost-hotels-of-the-catskills  I just picked that link because it was at the top of the list.

Honestly. I used to play with reverse speech a little. I recorded my daughters when the were young and reversed on sound recorder. There is some truth to reverse speech Im just not the expert needed. Its fun to play with. Y a know. Yes we can is thank you satan. There is something there.

Yes, I have a very sleazy side but I try to keep it confined to the internet and to my wife.  And I'm not talking about sick, pervy stuff.  Just the usual red-blooded male obsessions.  A bit kinky, yes, but not unusual.  Art lived out all of his fantasies and left his older kids behind at a young age.  I couldn't do that.

I'll be straight up with you,  as you seem to not be.  I don't work for anyone,  but the night that Heather went on LNM, I told her that it would get messy if she takes that name.   I don't think I was wrong.  Do you?

Yes, you are correct. Disputes over ownership of a name can get messy. Your insight and powers of reason are amazing. Keep up the good work. You being unemployed isn't shocking.

I still haven't see you post anything proving if Keith, or Heather owns the name Midnight in the Desert. I have no idea who owns the name. Do you? If you do please post the facts. Facts would be a breath of fresh air around here at the moment.

Otherwise we're just left with your amazing powers of deduction. Powers which concluded disputes can get messy. I've already considered what you've deduced. Along with many other notions and scenarios weeks ago & moved on. Leaving me bored awaiting the next chapter in this drama.

Great find.

"Police raided the business, which they believed was used to make porn films but which in fact sold singles the chance to videotape themselves for viewing by potential dates. "

Art obviously kept the juicy tapes in the cuckshed.
