Is Norry celebrating Mardi Gras tonight with Corny in LA? Laissez les bons temps rouler! Where is Connie? Getting some beads in NOLA?

"Whut is this Mardi Grass?  I jest don't get it!"

How insidious is Jorch Noory’s mind numbing blather?  I’ll tell you how insidious.

I have maintained a C2C membership for 10 years.  I was going to drop it after the first two years but by that time my wife had developed the habit of listening to it on her iPad after turning in at night.  She invariably falls asleep within 5 minutes after hitting the pillow and launching the podcast.  We both think the man is a total ass and we joke about him all the time but we also agree that the show’s benefit as a sleep aid cannot be denied and therefore is worth the membership fee.  (I know that there are ways of listening to Jorch’s dulcet tones free but it just wouldn’t be the same.)

So, there you are.  The son of a bitch makes money even from those he puts to sleep . There oughta be a law...

Let's just say Jorch won't need any Noxitril for awhile.

Think I'll tune in to the beginning of the show so I can get Jorch's riveting take on the school shooting.

George just said, in response to suggestions from various guests & callers, that C2C is looking into setting up their own crypto-currency.  People, get yourself ready for the investment opportunity of the year:  Jorchbux!

Hell yeah im tooooning in. Cant wait to invest in mustache cash.

Meh, I'm checking out.  Watched Casablanca tonight with my wife.  Her first viewing. She thought it was a great film to my surprise.  She usually has a hard time with old films.  In my eyes, it gets better with each viewing. Anyway, there's a couple of documentaries about the Warner Brothers on the same set plus a Clint Eastwood documentary on the film itself so I'm going to forego the rest of Jorch's show and watch those.  It is great to see you, zeebo!

It's good, but personally I'm more of a "To Have and Have Not" fan.   :)

You too 21st, guess I had to return to the source from which all bellgab sprung - GNS.   :D

Well there it is, for me anyway, Jorch's first observation in 2018 that the year is passing too fast 'gosh, we're rolling into March already, it's going so fast'. He's more predictable than Richard C. Hoaglands Bulova Accutron watch.

The best sleep I ever get is when I sleep thru the show!

Nice hairdo.

Proposing gun control against school shooters is like proposingno currency due to shoplifting.  Wouldn't it be better to install metal detectors at all entrances.  We go through door detectors to protect mere merchandise at Walmart and libraries.  Why wouldn't we want to protect our children more than our cheap goods?

And airports.  Detectors all over.  Why are planes, pilots and passengers more worth protecting than children, teachers, administrators and school buildings?

Pubesents and adolescents are frequently myopic and full of angst.  It's a vulnerable time, when egos are new and can't see past their own nose.  Definitely a time for extra protection.

I have no reason to listen to C2C other than I can't find anything else with live talk overnight. I tried listening to Red Eye Radio but hard to believe, two old blowhards talking conservative politics, is worse than even Jorch and his guests.

Seems as if Punnett is the guest tonight:

QuoteFirst Half: Former weekend host of C2C, Ian Punnett, will be a professor of multimedia journalism in the fall. He'll discuss the current state of media, and how it's changing us, as well as his latest book about the way true crime is reported.

Punnett only puling a 2.2 on Rate My Professor.    Also no Chili Pepper so 'Not Hot'   :D

Dunno - doesn't seem so

He did one show (must have been Coast?) when he was plugging the book and starting his professorship in some small town in Ohio.  Looks like he's moved on to Arizona St, which could explain why the description is similar but show not a repeat

Heh heh, reading the student comments.  Sounds like the same ol' Ian, but as a professor

ASU promotes the heck of their "online university" so Ian could be doing it that way I'm guessing? Didn't spend a whole lot of time getting Ordained or something? Weird he teaching journalism after that? Or maybe doing multiple gigs (in addition to his book about the relative's death.)

Yeah, seminary at a Presbyterian college, bishop (deacon?) or whatever they are at an Episcopalian church while doing radio.

After quitting radio, he went to the Walter Kronkite School of Journalism at ASU and got his Master's.  Upon graduation, he was hired to teach at Ohio Northern University.  Not sure what happened there, or if he's still there.

Radio - minister - professor, dude loves being in front of an audience.  Next move, auctioneer?

Noory introduced him now as "Dr. Ian Punnett, Phd"

Discussing true crime series... can only mention a fictional series “Remember Dexter?”

Lol ... Ian describing how on C2C the hosts have the long-format luxury to form a narrative, a story with a beginning/middle/end.  Um Art knew how to do that, and Knapp is a master at it too.

But Noory?  It's more like a chronologically and thematically disordered mix of hand-scrawled bullet points, just-read wikipedia excerpts, book titles, barely relevant movie or tv clips, etc., with no narrative structure whatsoever.

I remember a classic example of this with an astrophysicist who'd written about the entire history of the universe - and within 5 mins. George jumps ahead and blurts out "So where is all this headed?"  I mean way to kill the drama, man.

he's not very bright, little intellectual curiosity, what there is of that is on the level of a 5th grader. and then there's just laziness, Lazy Jorchie.

one of my favorite posts on here was by somebody who posted an excerpt from Jorch's latest ghost written novel where a crime scene is described and Jorch rather than do any research at all describes a group of law enforcement specialists who had arrived as 'the coroner people'.

Cops from homicide. Plus I guess coroner's office isn't in Noory's lexicon of words.
