You should probably get your facts straight.  There is a difference between having a conversation with someone and being spied on by them.  Flynn knew he was talking to the FBI.  He didn't receive any money from Russia either.  Let me help you out:

Flynn did perfectly legal work for a private company in Turkey.  As it was a private company, he didn't believe he needed to file as a foreign agent.  Apparently advising this company also benefitted the Turkish government, triggering a requirement to register according to Muller.  Yet he wasn't charged with that. 

What he did with the Russians was ask them not to retaliate when Obama took actions to punish them for their role in trying to undermine our elections.  A move he (Obama) finally made months after finding out it was happening, and nearly two months after the elections themselves were over.  Flynn's crime is telling the FBI he didn't have those conversations.

Trump and Flynn were doing the right thing, hoping to start things off with a better relationship with Russia than Obama had.  Flynn should have told the truth, or perhaps referred the FBI to the president-elect if he didn't want the content of talks between the transition team and foreign governments possibly leaked or made public.  Lesson learned, but let's not make Flynn into some evil criminal here.
