Weird story. So it was still snowing, I guess the car must have been there a bit and it snowed over the tracks?
I'm a bit disappointed that you didn't have road-flares and a CB radio, at least the emergency kind with the magnetic antenna and cigarette-lighter power.
Ha!  A Cobra with a mag antenna to slap on the roof.  "Breaker, Breaker..."

"Yee ha!"

No tracks at all. Usually if there are tracks and then it snows you can still see the original tracks as depressions. And this wasn’t a blowing snow.  It was just a fluffy dry kind of snow that was really only falling in the notch between Wilmington and Lake Placid.

I was driving an Air Force blue Dodge window van with 3 other guys.  We looked for flares or a flashlight and couldn’t find anything. This was years before the Olympics and well before ski season so there was nothing open - not even the one seasonal motel across from Whiteface.

And we never saw them in the side of the road in either direction.

"Those Were The Days" triggered me into imagining Norry crooning that song at some "big event" in the former Red Lion hotel's lounge and RCH in bolo-tie and western leisure-suit hitting on a waitress.

Whatever happened to all the CB radios people had, and all the police and emergency scanners?  It was quite the thing for awhile, people sitting at home listening to the truckers, and even getting to know them when they came through.

CB radios, Beanie Babies, Pokémon cards, crypto-currencies... Oh wait, that last one hasn't vanished yet

Scanners on the Web now.  Sorry I have no link, but I heard about it here.

I couldn't find an appropriate thread but I think I posted somewhere in the Paranormal or Paulides thread the other day. An odd story. Clyde covered it a bunch last night and had some callers from the area and familiar with search and rescue there and some truckers who dispute that a trucker would pick up someone in full ski gear and drive him across country after he passed out.

Around the hour mark he brought up the Todd Sees case. Amazed I don’t recall ever hearing Paulides discuss this case. It’s freaky.
QuoteOne of Todd Sees boots was found seventy-five feet up a tree.

I remember Paulides discussing this case on one of his C2C shows.  I don't recall whether it was with Noory or Knapp, though.

Must have been when he was on with Noory. I’ve listened to his shows with Knapp many times. The Noory ones not so much.

I’ve got a 2010 C2C show from back when I was an “insider” and Ian Punnett filled in for Knapp. I believe it was Paulides first appearance on C2C. Pre Missing 411. It was back when he was doing the Hoopa Project with police sketch artist Harvey Pratt. It’s a really good C2C.

Kidnapping does not alleviate stress.  What is stressing you out?!  How bad can it be, if you have discretionary income?

Sorry. I missed your other question. It was an air force van. I was stationed at Plattsburgh AFB about 50 miles north of Lake Placid.

really? it has always worked before.  ;)

you really want to know what is stressing me out?

i won't tell details. i have GOBS of support. i will tell you that it's something really big. one of those things that is going to change me for the rest of my days. something, that for once, caught me completely unprepared. a stress from the changes and being unprepared.

i am very aware of what is happening to me and see it as a personal opportunity. a challenge. a test. a moment in time where i can actively change myself from deep inside. some karma time.  :)

everything that i am, both hidden and seen, visioned only by me, is wide open to me.... it's a thrill..... and it's formidable in nature. my emotional fuse box sparked briefly and then had a meltdown. i was aware of it the whole time. i still am. all of it. i'm a "just fly the damn airplane" kind of person. i don't give up. never have and it always comes with a price.

i've patched up the ol' fuse box. it's holding the load. now i just need a way to take some time to prepare for the experience ahead. that coming moment has one rule.... it will take how ever long it takes. so i really need the distraction of solitude. that solitude won't come again until i can see what comes out the other side of this experience.

being kidnapped is a start and you asked.

btw, all income is discretionary.  8)

why yes! waking up to find yourself face down, naked, covered in a thin film of some kind of multicolored crust, in a home you do not recognize... is something everyone should experience at least once.

EDIT: this post is in no way related to my previous post about porn. at least as far as i know.  ;)

That was my first thought.
Well, glad u have support.  Maybe God will "kidnap" you.
Where I live, shelter takes up most income.
Would being kidnapped interfere with the experience you r anticipating?

Switzerland just passed some interesting animal laws. You can't punish a dog for barking, cats must have a daily visual contact with other felines, and hamsters or guinea pigs must be kept in pairs.

An illegal arrested for "forcing" a goat to use cocaine and drink whiskey. The goat, dubbed Keith Richards by the police, was deemed in good health by vet. (Ok, I made up the last part.)

Can the hamsters and guinea pigs be same sex?

We all have heard of camel racing and camel beauty contests (a controversy recently about the use of botox in them) in Muslim lands but apparently Muslims enjoy another odd "sport": Combat taa lkbech -Sheep Fighting. Don't worry, the animal abuse is excused by The Guardian as just a way for young Algerians dealing with so much violence blowing off some steam and escapism....

"They treat their sheep like mistresses"
