It was a great memo. It was the best memo.

The best words too.

Quote
The bureau on Wednesday attacked the memo as fundamentally misleading, saying Nunes’ document reflected “material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy.” After the memo’s release, the FBI said its criticism stands.

“Deputy Director McCabe testified before the Committee in December 2017 that no surveillance warrant would have been sought from the FISC without the Steele dossier information,” the memo claims, referring to the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.

Asked if that was a true representation, a source familiar with McCabe’s testimony responded: “100% not.”

If anything, the memo inadvertently makes clear that the FBI was probing possible contacts between Trump associates and Russians before it started looking into Page. The document notes that the bureau started investigating Papadopoulos in July 2016, three months before it sought the first surveillance warrant on Page. ::)

Using a bullshit dossier as the basis of spying on a political opponent. Is that simple enough for you? Something that peabrain of yours can digest? :D

Alas, it wasn't the basis...

Quote
The memo makes a considerable effort to draw a line from the Steele dossier to the Page surveillance request to questions about the legitimacy of the Russia investigation as a whole. The memo then notes it was information about George Papadopoulos, another Trump campaign foreign policy adviser, that prompted the launch of the FBI counterintelligence investigation in July 2016 - months before the Page surveillance request was granted.

Read the memo in full on the House website
The things that don't add up about Carter Page
The biggest news was Papadopoulous
Papadopoulos has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russian nationals while a Trump campaign adviser and was told by one contact that the Russians had "dirt" on Mrs Clinton in the form of "thousands of emails".

The memo doesn't address any of this, (WHAT A SURPRISE!) instead opting to recount how that investigation was initiated by Peter Strzok, a senior FBI agent who has since become mired in a scandal surrounding an affair with a co-worker in which they made derogatory remarks about Mr Trump via text message on government mobile phones.

Explain what laws he broke and support it with actual evidence.

Mueller won't tell us yet, has he told you? No? Damn.  >:(

Is Carter Page in or out with the WH and Trump? Because last year when he was being questioned by the Feds the WH line was he was only a rent boy, I mean peripheral to the Trump campaign (Although he was an advisor) and therefore (like Popudopulous the coffee boy) not important, nothing to see. Now it seems that Page was wronged by the FBI and they're championing his cause because he was important after all.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-South Carolina, tweeted after the Nunes memo release: "As I have said repeatedly, I also remain 100 percent confident in Special Counsel Robert Mueller. The contents of this memo do not - in any way - discredit his investigation."

Obvious Democrat.  >:(

On Saturday morning, before heading out for a round of golf, (Where else?) President Donald Trump tweeted this:

"This memo totally vindicates 'Trump' in probe. But the Russian Witch Hunt goes on and on. Their<sic>(He has the best words) was no Collusion and there was no Obstruction (the word now used because, after one year of looking endlessly and finding NOTHING, collusion is dead). This is an American disgrace!"

The memo mentions Mueller, erm, never. And it doesn't vindicate anyone. Not even Carter Page who is the apparent subject of the memo (Trump will be angry it isn't about him when he finds out).. It was written by the Trump circus in a very weak and half assed attempt to discredit any investigation into Trump. But it doesn't even do that because in law, I'm fairly sure the defence cannot decide who and what the Prosecution case is going to be nor decide guilt..Yes, I'm pretty sure about that.

The entire DoJ, including FBI are Democrats; Including Comey (Republican), well okay then...Ahh Rosentein DAG, oh, he's a Republican too, well okay then, what about Jeff Sessions, hang on, I think he's a Republican although his memory is shot...Okay then Mueller is definitely a Democrat, Shit; No? He's a Republican too? Trump is definitely not worried he's in the shit that's why being so innocent he's trying his very hardest to obstruct what Mueller was ordered to do by the DAG.
I know you fled here but you have to understand the plot. Once inside the Beltway, Party, except for reelection purposes, for the most part, disappears on major things. Social issues and the political version of "click bait" exists, to get reelected (many of the "Christians" cheat or are homos and many of the "socialists" live in splendor and rake in $$)  but when the real stuff is concerned the major impetus is to protect the system and bureaucracy (with, a bit, of shuffling between objectives/agencies.) Why, even under your Dear Leader Obama companies like defense contractors, lobbyists, etc still thrived even though, supposedly, the Democrats are "anti-war" and "anti-corporations," etc. And why Democrats, including Schiff I think, voted for Trump to continue to have the power for the spying, etc even though they claim he is a "new Hitler," "idiot," "Russian" agent etc. Why vote through those Bills, like the NDAA, if Trump is that evil and under Russian control? Hmmm.

In other words you hate America, but you loved it until Trump was elected and it all seemed a bit dodgy because in the campaign he was on the stump declaring how shit would come out on Clinton a week or so before Wikileaks had done so. Hmmm, call me cynical but some might think he had an inside track..Oh, Wikileaks was acknowledged by the western spooks to be run from the Kremlin long before Trump announced he was standing as a candidate. Where are you on Snowden?

There is a difference between the Country and the Government, as currently run. I know you fled here but even our citizens, often, don't understand that the initial intention was not to have such a large, bloated, top-down system of government but one balanced in powers both at the Federal level (which have limited powers) but also balanced between the Federal government, State, local, and individual. It was never intended that DC would control, regulate, or tax every aspect of one's life. And I still don't get the logic of you Democrats: Trump is a Russian agent, or under control of same, but still vote for questionable powers like NDAA? Trump "never wanted to be elected" etc but wanted Russian help to do so? The narratives are not logical. Do Russians (and others) try to interfere in elections or spy on us? Sure. We do also, in one of the more brazen attempts, besides Ukraine, was Obama's in Israel (which was, however, a somewhat funny change of pace considering.) Also, the obvious is never talked about: like us in some circumstances the goal of the Russians (and others) would likely be to not, necessary, want a certain person to "win" but rather to sow chaos and internal disruption.

My favorite part of the #memo is how, now that is de-classified, it clearly puts the nations security at risk.

It so chock full of delicious intel nuggets that enemy spies will have to digest its contents for a very, very long time.

I don't know how much longer this nation can survive after all these critical secrets have been put out there for all the world to see.

I would feel safer if it had remained Top Secret.  I believe because of this the doomsday clock has moved up to a few milliseconds to midnight...

I will have trouble sleeping now, thanks Obasma!

Yep. The sources they were trying to protect?  Yahoo News

The methods they were trying to protect? Generate bullshit through a consulting firm. Leak said bullshit to protected source. Have a writer that works for protected source while also working for aforementioned consulting firm write and publish article to be used for corroboration of original bullshit. Use corroborated bullshit to support FISA warrant. Release FISA memo 30 days before said author releases book on muh Russia. Micheal Issikoff is a triple dipper!!!

But there is absolutely no curiosity or alarm been shown by the GOP or Trump that they will likely make moves to attack the mid terms in a few months from now. Mike Pompeo the other day said they will, but didn't mention anything to try and do anything about it. Doesn't that worry you even a bit?

It's favourable to Putin that Trump is POTUS because he's a far more useful idiot to Putin than he could possibly have wished for. He knows Trump doesn't give a shit about anything, has no interest in knowing anything that hasn't got his name in the title and never likley to. Bingo, Putin can do as he pleases and Trump won't order a finger to be lifted to counter it. The recent #release the memo? Twitter have said that they estimate that at least 2/3rds of the retweets were from Russian based bots.. Why might they do that if they didn't have a vested interest?

We can safeguard the midterms and subsequent elections by requiring voter ID to probe citizenship.

Who the fuck gives a fuck about twitter bots and facebook newsfeeds. If you vote based on the number of retweets, maybe you shouldn’t be allowed to vote. Maybe twitter and facebook should be eliminated as coconspirators and be shut down for 30 days before every election.

I think Snowden is a criminal that should face trial.

More obfuscation and deflection. Who said anything about Mueller. I was discussing the “need to protect sources and methods” that the democrats were screaming about. Read before you respond.

Maybe zuckerberg is a russian agent. Maybe Putin owns facebook stock. How exactly is Putin buying facebook ads illegal?  Did they charge him?  Did they make zuckerberg refund the money?  Do you remember radio free europe? Do you remember Obama donating money to keep BeBe out of office?  One of those was illegal. Can you find it?

Then how do you explain the tweet that Trump sent out at 3.30 this morning (before leaving for a round or so of golf)?

"This memo totally vindicates 'Trump' in probe. But the Russian Witch Hunt goes on and on. Their was no Collusion and there was no Obstruction (the word now used because, after one year of looking endlessly and finding NOTHING, collusion is dead). This is an American disgrace!"

The Dems were screaming about it (and prompted the director of the FBI and the DAG to plead with Kelly not to release it) because (yep, you guessed it) until it had been released, only Nunes and his mates (and Trump of course) had seen it, so no-one knew what was to be released. Nunes admitted he hadn't read the background info on which he based the memo on..It's been likened to doing a book review without reading the book.

And it isn't obfuscation, I was quoting directly Republicans, one who did the memo, the other responding to its contents..

I'm on record here before of saying I would much rather have a good relationship with Russia rather than the war you and fellow Democrats seem to want. They have a dwindling population and lots of resources that our companies could exploit better, and more safely, than Russian ones. And provide stable and cheaper gas to Europe. And we have a common enemy in Islam and, at least until recently, potential enemy or threat, China- instead we drove them together (sorta.) Trust them? Hardly. Very corrupt. Decades of communism and the debacle of our "help" post Cold War that just went into oligarchs and mayifa hands (like Putin.) But we do business with corrupt regimes all the time and, n theory, opening up and making our companies abide by our laws might actually help become less corrupt? If not we make some money, they make some money, and that is better than wars (hot or cold or proxy.)
Snowden, I don't like because of where he fled but the information was valuable but, in a way, nothing those interested or into 'conspiracy theory' didn't know about. The folks that hacked, leaked the methods and software are bad . And names, like the Chinese situation under Obama that, though mentioned, briefly, didn't make "Big news" cycles even though worst intelligence failure, arguably, ever. I also think the post-911 changes under Bush are bad for national security. We shouldn't design/react our systems to some backward Muslims but for more robust folks like Russian, China, etc.
