Students for Concealed Carry has made OSU a focal point in their efforts to get the laws changed in the State of Ohio to allow the lawful carry of concealed handguns on campuses across the state. I think they have a suit pending in the courts.  Will be interesting to see if the media picks up that storyline.

We passed it here and the media and the usual suspects were crying and hand-wringing. So far no incidents that I'm aware of, the law is that a CCL holder can have a weapon on campus. No just "anybody" can carry: you have to take a course, go through a background check, qualify, and pay a fee (former and current police officers or military can be exempted from taking the course) and can't carry if on alcohol or drugs. The campus has it own police force and they are armed but the County/City can also intervene and they are armed. I noticed today that my local elementary school has a armed cop during pick-up/drop-off times, I'm not sure during the day. I think security guy and doors to outside are only opened once office verifies who you are.

Police, even as of this hour, haven't determined his motive or will publicly state it. This isn't a case where the police need to worry about a prosecution. The terrorist is dead, it is ok to tell us the motive. Political correctness will be the death of the West.
