I can't recall a day in May in Georgia where it failed to get out of the 40's.  This year marks a first.

Wow. We had a warm spell in April, then it cooled off the last week or so. But still in the high 60s low 70s. Back into the 80's this week though.

We had some wierd weather yesterday that caused 100s of birds to fly into a building in Galveston. Galveston is a major flyway for migrating songbirds.

Weird. It is cold and rainy here today.  It is supposed to clear up tonight.  Temperatures should only drop to about 40 though that is still abnormally cold for this time of year.  Tomorrow we  will be 65-70 but the nights are going to stay cold for the foreseeable future.  Days will be no warmer than the 70's.   We were in the high 80's most of last week.

These are the days that try a Houstonian's patience. Deciding when to shut off the AC for the day so you don't have to run the furnace at night. First world problems.

With my luck, the feather pillow I had ordered and had shipped via FedEx, was in Atlanta.

Hope 21CM is ok.

Just seeing this.  I'm fine but thanks for thinking of me.  :D  It was an F0 with winds of no more than 85 mph so it was a pretty sorry tornado. ;D

I would think eating more steaks helps reduce the amount of methane. I plan on doing my part tonight.

I love how his chef called him out and said that he had cooked him thousands of steaks in the last 10 years.

"Obama and his wife Michelle are in Italy this week on vacation, after the former President spoke to the Institute for International Political Studies in Milan on the importance of addressing climate change, to preserve the world’s food supply and protect its underprivileged.

Apparently, he’s decided to demonstrate humanity’s contribution to global warming by making his own carbon footprint as big as possible.

On Friday, the Obama’s jetted into Tuscany on a private â€" not a commercial â€" plane, escorted into a small Florentine airport by six additional military jets, according to Italian state television."

Trump pulls US out of Paris Climate Accord!   ;D   Way to go, Mr. Trump. ;D

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4563932/Trump-announces-U-S-Paris-climate-accord.html

Right on! I always thought clean air, water and food were way over hyped. We don't need any of that. We have money and now we can make more!  (money, that is, not the stuff we need to survive)

The accords have nothing to do with with clean air, water and food.  I'm all for those and we should all work to maintain high standards of those on a community by community basis.  The people have more say this way.  I despise global hegemony and the accords were a scam to redistribute wealth.

Yes we should! I am confident that Trump, since he's always been for environment before making a buck, will be the one to lead us into a future where our water, food and air is clean. Like China.

Oh stop it. The sarcasm is drooling from your fingertips.  Trump would rather not sacrifice jobs based on junk science.  I hope he cares for the environment. We all should.  The climate accords were not the way to go about it.

Oh, do I sound sarcastic? It must be a speech impediment. I totally agree that global warming is junk science. Those two scientists that were payed by the oil industry to make it seem controversial were totally telling the truth. I'm glad you hope Trump cares for the environment because that makes all the difference.

Do you know Joe Bastardi?  He's hardly being paid by the oil industry and many meteorologists don't believe in man-made climate change.

I'll read the link you posted. First, do you remember when a certain political party said global warming wasn't happening, and now when it's obvious that it is they are now saying it's not man made. Yeah, sorry, it really just seems like they are making shit up as they go along.

Post Script: I remember reading in a magazine in the 90's how global warming will be good for golf courses.

Oh, hey. Look at that, Bastardi doesn't deny climate change and would actually challenge anyone that would. Yeah, now that it's obvious.

Don't you remember when it was being denied? Why do you think that is?

Bastardi says:

In my opinion, most of the warmth today is likely natural given the tiny amounts of CO2 relative to the entire system, of which the oceans have 1000x the heat capacity and are the great thermostat of the planet, taking centuries of action and reaction to reach where they are now.

He doesn't mention the icecaps melting. lulz. Also, we get a lot of our oxygen from the oceans, just like with trees, so we need them to stay the same temperature.

This fact doesn't impart the weight of authority and significance that you're frontin' that it does.

That's what I thought too.

The reason he disagrees with me is he is into the chem trails and weather manipulation conspiracy theories.  I haven't ruled any of that out completely but I need more evidence.   The CO2 theory is what I claim to be bunk.  I will also add that it has been unusually cool this spring in North GA and next week they are calling for lows in the low to mid 50's.  Highly unusual for June but I'm not ready to jump on the global cooling bandwagon quite yet.

The main problem of the Paris accord is that it redistributes wealth and I simply don't want a world government body making decisions for our country.  It is a socialist/communist grab at power using the front of climate change.
