Isn't this an admission of who it is out attacking society?

Perhaps the London knife attacks are simply a pretext to knives being restricted to Britains, so that when the time comes for the Muslim takeover, it can go forward with little left to resist.

Let's call it "The Fortnight of the Long Knives."

What, if anything, should Trump do about the gas massacre in Syria? Nuke? Apologize like Obama?  Let’s see if we can discuss this with our own words.

We could give the same response to this civil war that we gave to the Iran-Iraq War. Decide who is our enemy, and support the other side.

After Nearly 100 Years of Gun Control, London Adding Knife Control

On April 2, 2018, Breitbart News reported that Britain began an incremental adoption of stringent gun controls in 1920. The controls were ratcheted up during the decades that followed, until the hoops one had to jump through for legal handgun ownership reached a point were doing so became impractical. (The handgun prohibitions were contained in the Firearms Act of 1997.)

In 2009, just 12 years after the passage of the Firearms Act, the Daily Mail declared Britain was “the most violent country in Europe.” It reported that Britain had “a worse rate for all types of violence than the U.S.”

On October 21, 2017, Breitbart News reported that rapes in London were three times higher than in New York City and, on April 2, 2018, Breitbart News reported that London’s homicide rate had surpassed the number of homicides in New York City, year-to-date.

Lovely.  Maybe The Pud has returned to his homeland to help out.

"Hospitals in Mayor Sadiq Khan’s London resemble those in a war zone, a senior surgeon working to save victims of the capital’s surging violent crime wave has said.

The shock comments made Thursday morning come after two more men were killed overnight, a couple of days after another night of violence saw a boy, 16, stabbed to death and a 17-year-old girl shot in a “drive by”.

Wednesday night’s killings, both in Hackney, East London, brought the death toll from suspected murder in the capital to 50 so far this year, pulling away from New York City, which London overtook at the weekend."

http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/04/05/lead-surgeon-london-hospital-war-zone-two-slaughtered-overnight/

"The right to keep and bear knives shall not be infringed..."

Oooops...that's not in British Constitution....

Oooops again... Britain doesn't even have a "Constitution."

But anyway, good for the London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, to backtrack on his reduction of "Stop and Search" because of his "having previously declared the tactic racist and potentially Islamophobic."

So part of the answer is a $50 Million infusion "into the Metropolitan Police department, so that they can better arm themselves against knife attacks." I guess the Queen will have sell some of her jewelry to pay for this.

The "tough, immediate" measures involve an incredible police crackdown, a ban on home deliveries of knives and acid, and expanding law enforcement stop-and-search powers so that police may stop anyone they believe to be a threat, or planning a knife or acid attack.

How Archie Bunker Forever Changed in the American Sitcom

The return of ABC’s ‘Roseanne’ inspires a reevaluation of television’s history of portraying the working class

https://www.smithsonianmag.com/arts-culture/history-working-class-families-american-sitcom-180968555/

“Roseanne” returns to ABC. The reboot comes at a perfect cultural momentâ€"television comedy is thriving in its second Golden Age, and while recent shows have made strides exploring issues of identity from race to sexuality, the elephant in America’s living rooms, class, has been only spottily addressed in the 20 years that “Roseanne” has been off the air.

From their post-WWII inception, American sitcoms showcased primarily affluent, aspirational, white families; think of the Cleavers on “Leave it to Beaver,” the Andersons on “Father Knows Best,” and the Nelsons on “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet.” An academic study of 262 situational comedies from 1946-1990 revealed that only 11 percent of programs featured blue-collar characters as heads of household - the most notable were the two “ethnic” comedies that came directly from old radio programs like “The Goldbergs” and “Amos ‘n’ Andy.” In the 1950s and 1960s, the genre was dominated by professional, college-educated protagonists and their impressive, pristine homes. (The only real exception was “The Honeymooners,” which aired in the mid-50s and starred Jackie Gleason as New York City bus driver and would-be domestic batterer Ralph Kramden.)

The boy is in a lab coat. Yeah, I agree those shouldn't be used outside a lab. Are you really trying to be the judge of what everyone on this planet should be wearing so you can tell whether they are female or male?

The lab coat wasn't on my radar. The way the boy's hair is styled is what I thought was "girlish".

What I don't get is that Obama's NSA admits to spying just about everybody, including members of Congress, and our intelligence agencies brag about our surveillance and data-mining capacities, even down to the local PD using things like STINGRAY etc and the media complaining about all the Russian hacking etc but nobody can find all the Clinton emails that were on the unsecured, illegal server? How is that all data-mining and etc done NSA, DIA, foreign intelligence agencies, giant corporations, ISPs, etc can find just about everybody else's activity (or so we are told) but Hillary's can "disappear?"

The very fact that many, if not all, Americans are being surveilled to some extent would mean certain Trump, and his staff, would be.

“Rogue” Network Of Cellular Eavesdropping Devices Discovered Throughout Washington D.C.

The Stingray units operate by tricking a cellular device into locking onto them instead of a legitimate cell tower â€" revealing the exact location of a particular phone. As AP notes, more sophisticated versions can eavesdrop on calls by forcing phones to step down to the older, unencrypted 2G wireless channel. Other Stingray devices can plant malware on a phone.

David Hogg’s Sister Complains Her School Now Feels Like A ‘Prison’

Parkland students returning to school complain: ‘Feels like a prison;’ ‘invasion of privacy’

https://thenationalsentinel.com/2018/04/03/parkland-students-returning-to-school-complain-feels-like-a-prison-invasion-of-privacy/

Security changes announced March 21, 2018 by the Superintendent Robert W. Runcie for the Broward County school district where the Feb. 14th Parkland Shooting occurred.

Dear Broward County Public Schools Families:

Across our community, our hearts remain with Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and all of those impacted by the February 14, 2018, tragedy.

Over the past several weeks, we have received many inquiries regarding the District’s efforts to fortify school campuses and enhance safety protocols. We want to assure you that the safety and security of our students and employees remain our highest priorities. In addition to the District’s ongoing efforts, the recent signing of Senate Bill 7026 (the School Safety Bill) into law, provides our District with additional resources to support this critical work. Below are details on safety and security measures Districtwide.

Safety and Security Measures â€" Now and Ongoing
• All safety protocols for routine school operations are being reinforced at all schools. This includes requiring students and staff to wear identification badges while on campus; locking classroom doors at all times; locking and securing exterior doors and gates throughout the day; being vigilant in monitoring the campus throughout the day; and conducting emergency preparedness and response training for faculty, staff and students on a regular basis.
• The District actively conducts code red training, which is the foundation of active-shooter training, throughout the school year at all schools. We are working with law enforcement agencies to evaluate the protocols and frequency of code red training and drills for all schools for the next school year.
• The District is in the process of upgrading real-time surveillance camera systems at all schools. The work will be completed by June 2018. This work is being funded through the District’s current capital budget funding sources.

Safety and Security Measures â€" To be Completed
• The District has expedited the completion of Single Point of Entry measures for campus visitors, which use fencing and door systems to limit access to one entrance. This work will be completed at all schools by the end of this calendar year or the first quarter of 2019 at the latest. This work is being funded through the District’s current capital budget funding sources.
• With the approval of recent legislation, the state will provide the District with approximately $8.5 million to place a minimum of one School Resource Officer in each school beginning in the 2018/19 school year.
• With the approval of recent legislation, the state will also provide the District with approximately $6 million to expand mental health services beginning in the 2018/19 school year.
• The District will develop a Districtwide Security Risk Assessment for all schools by August 2018 and compete for a share of a $98 million statewide allocation to fund, in whole or in part, the costs associated with improving the physical security of school buildings. The state anticipates awarding grant funds to approved school districts in the first quarter of 2019.
• The District will convene working groups and task forces to garner suggestions from citizens in our communities.

Keeping our students, staff and schools safe is the responsibility of everyone in our community. We encourage parents and families to reinforce with their children â€" if you see something, say something.

While we cannot change the heartbreaking and senseless act of violence at Marjory Stoneman Douglas, by working together, we can change the future. All students deserve safe schools. We are proud of our students’ determination to effect positive change in this country â€" and for the incredible support from the Broward community and across the country.

Thank you for your ongoing support during this difficult time, as we continue to recover from this tragedy.

Sincerely,
Robert W. Runcie
Superintendent, Broward County Public Schools

Had to renew my Texas DL at the DMV office this time. Every other time you get to do it all online.

You can reserve a place in line the day you're coming by phone, or maybe the reservation was made online, I can't remember, (I won't have to renew in person next time).

I arrived at the DMV within the 10 minute window of time to check in for my 2pm appointment, but I still waited 40 minutes before being called to go to the counter to renew. But, I overheard a DMV worker tell someone that walked in that their wait time would be about 2 hours. Most of the people waiting there looked like English might have been their second language.

There's a larger, regional DMV site about 25 miles away, that says you don't need an appointment, and walk-ins can get served there in usually under 30 minutes.

To be on the safe side, I brought everything in a folder with me, my birth certificate, my SS card, and a utility bill to prove my residence.

The DMV workers on the floor were taking no bull from anyone. That had the feel of when Malcolm McDowell was told to stay behind a line while he had to reach forward to sign his paperwork to be released from prison in the film O Lucky Man!

But once my name was called, and I got up to the counter to get my license renewed, it all went well, and I was outta there in under 5 minutes.  :D

It has been reported that, in China, it is not uncommon to see, with parents nearby, small children peeing on the floor of a gate waiting area. You'll just have to Google westerner's travel experiences in China, especially away from the larger cities, like Beijing.

The report states that the two fighter jets, among the most advanced in the world, circled at high altitude above Persian Gulf sites suspected of being associated with the Iranian nuclear program.

It also states that the two jets went undetected by radar, including by the Russian radar system located in Syria. The source refused to confirm if the operation was undertaken in coordination with the US army, which has recently conducted joint exercises with the IDF.

The source added that the seven F-35 fighters in active service in the IAF have conducted a number of missions in Syria and on the Lebanese-Syrian border. He underlined that the fighter jets can travel from Israel to Iran twice without refueling.
