So who else got a massive case of goosebumps when Art opened with The Chase and delivered his "From the high desert and the great American Southwest . . ." intro? I stopped in my tracks, thought it was 1995 and got giddy. Like mad giggling and jumping up and down giddy. It was bad.
Exactly.  Exactly.  The Real King of the Night is BACK, baby!

Yea I agree...hope they have a hard line connection of some type...but that is difficult in the middle of the High Desert!
I'm no expert in telecommunications but, yes, some means of maintaining a reliable link is needed to maintain listeners.  I hope Art's relatively remote location isn't going to make this too difficult.

You did fine, Redacted.  Sounds like folks making a mountain out of a mole hill, IMHO.  I'm more concerned about the tech problems being resolved.  They didn't bother me but they'll bother enough folks that it'll bug Art.  Who isn't thinking about what happened with Sirius.

I don't think that The Knapster is afraid 'to walk.'  It's about being a professional.  I could be wrong because I don't walk in their shoes, but I think, that ART respects The Knapster for being a professional and carrying out the mission that he was paid for.
I could be wrong, I've never shared Scotch and looked into the eyes of either of these men.
I don't think Knapp would be afraid to walk, if it came down to it, either.  I also think he's smart enough to pick his battles carefully.  I'm sure he wishes Art the best with MITD, whatever PremRad is up to.

Now I understand why Art was soooo worried about the weather and his internet. Apparently there are NO wired ISPs in Pahrump... it's ALL wireless only. So the rain scatters/diffracts the microwave link just like heavy rain causes satellite TV to tile up and drop out. Yikes.
If it's the rain, even though they apparently have a drought in the area, it is the monsoon season out there, too.  If they can just make it through August, it's not like Pahrump is in the Philippines.

Just hang in there, Art.  Where there's a will, there's a way.

YEah, that was kind of a bummer.  But The Knapster is a Professional.  He's accepting the 'kings' coin and gives them what they pay for.
Yes, he's a pro.  I'm not surprised he didn't mention Art.  I also wouldn't be surprised if he was highly advised by the suits to dummy up.  Salute and carry on, unless you want to walk.

The 20th launch date was the focal point of the entire blitz, they can't push it back this late can they?
I doubt it.  If the issues can't be completely resolved today, if I were Art, I'd just acknowledge them at the start tomorrow and say they're being worked to resolution ASAP.

Crap happens but you have to keep pushing ahead.  Art sounded great and is more than worth a few growing pains.

MV, where did that come from?  I thought he registered here under "Dave Noory", I offered the originally and was corrected being told he was introduced at an event as Dave.  Please set me straight.
Prior to Sirius, a Bellgabber contacted a radio station manager inquiring about Art.  The manager mentioned Noory but referred to him as "Dave Noorie."  It stuck with us at BellGab.

Art sounded like he was in my living room.  I was listening on Dark Matter via the Tune-In app, hooked into my Denon stereo and was plagued with drop-outs, like others, but the sound quality was fantastic.

"The Chase" never sounded better. ;D  Hang in there, Art.  It will only get better.

All great choices, Laura Branigan died much too young...

I would add Al Stewart, Year of the Cat.
How did I ever miss that.  I didn't know Ms. Branigan had passed.  Way, too young.

There's nothing better than BOC Reaper if Art's got a creepy show going.

Right now I'm blowing my eardrums out with my own collection of best of Boston.

He screwed-up El Dorado?  As Dave would say, "geesh!"

I think PIng is right...I just joined in April, even though I visited from time to time since Art quit Sirius...if Art didn't have the admiration of the BellGabbers, he might have just thought there was not the demand out there for a return...All the folks here on the forum MV and his crew have worked on over the YEARS I believe kept the fire lit!

They are humble folk, but I think the facts speak for themselves....
I had similar thoughts when listening to Redacted's chat with Art, and was glad to hear your Bellgab-related comments, MV.  When I signed on to BG several years back, I thought the ride was indeed over.  Now Art's giving us another crack.

Thanks for helping to keep the dream alive, MV!

My curiosity is piqued.  I may tune in to Knapp just for his intro just to see what he says.  Of course, Art will be on simultaneously.

At this point, I wonder how much Knapp would really have to lose if he did.  I'm sure he'd like to but I wouldn't be surprised if the PremRats specifically told him not to mention Art.  I think even they realize, especially with regular radio stations coming on board for MiTD, they finally have some serious competition.  Hell, the C2C schedule is virtually all paranormal this week, after tonight.  A coincidence?  Ask Dave.

He probably would've thought he was possessed what with his speaking in tongues. Certainly Norry is obsessed, the first stage to perfect possession,- securing the grid, toomeric, tragic deaths (the younger or more bizarre the better,) paranormaldate, mean babies, etc.
Ha!  Dave probably would have cut Malachi off after the first hour so the listener's could be enthralled with Fanthorpe's millionth recital of Springheel Jack.

Yeah, I hope so too. Believe them or not, one of the things guest like Evelyn Paglini and Malachi Martin had in common was they were both memorable. Long after the shows were over, speaking for myself, I remembered what they said and how it kept me on the edge. I know there are great potential guests out there, and I think they may just gravitate to the person who has the conversational skills to do them justice.
I have high hopes this time, especially since Art isn't subject to the idiocy of corporate suits.  Can you imagine what a disaster Father Martin would have been with Noory?  He would have been just another guest lost in the fog of Dave's malaprops and missteps.

After last night's interview, which was brilliant btw on all counts, I am sooooo hoping that a genuine, cauldron stirring, spell making, potion devising witch comes forth and carries the baton (hawthorne branch?) for the formidable Evelyn Paglini. That would be awesome.
With Art's talent, I'm sure he'll attract many new interesting guests over time.  My hope is someone in the mold of Malachi Martin.  Father Martin was the type of guest I love with Art.  Bright, experienced, and walked the fine line between us and the twilight zone.
