Second story, I met Tori Amos before a concert in 2007-08ish. She was awesome. She signed items for about 30 of us, and talked and took pictures for about an hour. She was tiny, and very pixie like. Hard to believe that voice comes out of that tiny woman

Years and years later, I discovered that what I experienced has happened throughout history in an almost exactly similar fashion. It's referred to by medical professionals as 'sleep paralysis", but there is no exact explanation as to the almost ever-present appearance of the woman during this event. Due to this fact, many others call it the 'Old Hag Syndrome". 

Apparently, as the story goes, the old hag visits primarily young males and takes their youthful energy for her own purposes. There's supposed to be something specifically about the energy of males. I believe on one of Art's shows, someone said that it's because she does something "sexually" to the victim.

So, long story short, I may have been raped by a witch.

You have lots of posts out there, pate. That's what I look for in finding fun posts to quote. You can't believe how many members will have a single post and that's it. Sadly, due to time constraints, I don't read them. I stick with members who have at least five pages of posts. That way I have more of a chance to find something good to put in the thread.

Smithfield, which is now the main meat market in London, used to be the place that they burned heretics back in the 17th Century. There's all sorts of interesting history to be found in London.

I am very interested in that Ackroyd book, plus the one about George Davis.  I noticed a number of books about the Tyburn 'Tree'... might go for one of those while I'm at it.  One of the things I like about London is it's fascinating history.  Appreciate it, Sredni.

You'll see a bit of graffiti in the first few minutes saying 'G Davis is innocent'. Love those Cockney accents, but then I love all things London, England. A favorite English actor, the late great Barry Foster spoke with a Cockney accent in some of his rolls. I guess he was just acting though, because he grew up in West London.

I appreciate the info on Mr. Davis. Did some digging and his first wife wrote a book about him. The Wars of Rosie: Hard Knocks, Endurance and the 'George Davis Is Innocent' Campaign in 2008. I'm thinking of purchasing a copy of it on Amazon.
