That interview is

Jim, I'm sure George Noory would pat you on the back for all of the nice things you said about him. But, If you didn't know, this is the George Noory sucks forum.

Pretty much since nooron had Harold on, jim has been licking noorys nuts.

I also disagree with the premise Noory is a good host and works hard. Fucker even admitted he surfs internet during interviews, and does't pay attention.
I think art showed it was still possible to have good paranormal radio with dark matter.

Art could also create new topics like punnet said couldn't be done, weird time travel stories, crazy bottomless puts, ghost trapped by big zappers etc.

You don't get that with noory, you get half assed rehashing of the days news. In arts time c2c was ahead of the curve with news.

George is not a nice guy, he is a liar, fraud, hoaxster.
I think it's convenient no one brought up noory having on Oates.
Noory is still a fucking doucher for doing that.

I'd like someone to ask Ian straight out if he believes in god.

Given the praise he lavished on George Noory, I wish he'd been asked if he's ever actually listened to George doing the show for any length of time.

Those are the polite questions I'd ask him

Remember the time he called in to George to promote the next night's show and flipped out.  Was it really just a lack of sleep?

I'd like to know why he couldn't tolerate a caller having a different opinion that he did on something.  Or worse - a caller having thought of something Ian hadn't.

I'm curious about the 'two brothers in the NFL' call, and would like to know if he ever figured out what the caller was talking about

He's always bragging about the guest who claimed he thought he was a horse trapped in a human body and how much people liked those shows.  I'd like to know how much negative response he'd gotten, considering those were actually a couple of the real low points in Coast history.

I'd like to know if he just threw in the towel after being made to apologize for fighting with one of the guests then dumping him (Joshua Pee Warren?).  That seems like the moment he went from being a very good host with a few immaturity related blemishes, to being an ass for most of the rest of his time on Coast.

I think that guest Ian dumped was Steve Quayle, not Joshua P. Warren (who was never on with Ian)...

Where would I find the old interview with Ian Punnett?

You are correct, thanks.

Sometimes I confuse these dingbats, since I didn't listen to very many of the shows they were on.  I did hear this particular one, though.

There were 2 separate incidents.

One was Ian hosting a show with Steve Quayle.  Quayle wanted to do the show about some gloom and doom thing and Ian wasn't having any of it.  They got into a big fight on air and Ian ended the interview.

The next weekend Ian hosted both Saturday and Sunday and opened up both shows with big apologies.  Speculation here was he was told to do so.

The other incident was Ian used to call in every Friday to plug his weekend show.  One time he called in - it was during the 2010 World Cup and George started by asking him about soccer and about Paul the zoo octopus who had correctly picked several games - and Ian started babbling incoherently.

There used to be clips of this on YouTube, but standup guy that Ian is, they seem to all be gone now.  I did find a clip of a different show playing it and talking about it.  Starting at about 2:12:

That was fantastic. I am sure Ian would blame that on tinnitus. But there is NO way Ian was not either hammered drunk or on drugs.

"great big houses mean surprises  big movement different heat like wow driveway. that that that depends threaten the hoover keep shirt off  any reason at all to get it off"

So how does Noory respond.
"exactly" George was not even remotely paying attention.

Foodlion

That was Ian's prime. The infamous night he talked about being raped by the hoover vacuum cleaner.

Anyone know how Ian is doing?
I liked him way back when, but I got fed up.
However, I do hope he is doing okay in life and stuff.
I suppose I could google him.

Not as much fun as asking a dumb question here though;)

If anybody remembers Ian interviewing "Simon" about the Necronomicon and has a link to it somewhere, please let me know.

I loved that show and I can't seem find it!

Ian is awesome!!!  Last I heard, he left coast because of his ear issues. Apparently he's in university going for his master's or PhD. I would love to hear Ian as guest host on Art's show at least once a month. Maybe one of our Jr detectives can email him and see if he'd like to post here. Great guy!!!

coaster

I loved listening to Ian. Hes in my top three next to Art and Knapp. "Threaten the hoover."

I don't doubt Ian that he had/has tinnitus which can be really awful and even debilitating. But I've heard some interviews with him after he left C2C. I have a feeling it was more than just the tinnitus or his going back for more degrees that caused him to leave. You could tell from his more later shows that he was getting exasperated with some of the ridiculous guests and frequent ridiculous callers. I enjoyed especially when he had good guests but I could sense from friction between him and Norry and especially "the new direction" of C2C. I wish him the best. I wouldn't mind if he would be a fill-in for Art on occasion on the new Art Bell show in July.

Albemuth

Loved listening to Ian. A great idea about him filling in for Art… He always brought his own set of weirdly entertaining topics and opinions.  More importantly  - seemed like he actually read the books under discussion. Too, he was a sci-fi / comic book geek which I appreciated.

If anything exposes (Noory yet again) for the false piece of shit he is, its his to response to Ian after that call.

No challenge, no query, nada... just "Uh eh uh exactly!"

You would think the would do a surprise and host one night. I know he was having hearing problems but i figured when he left he would fill in at least once by now..

A slightly salty Deacon with a wild & Dry wit. This just a week or so on his Twitter feed;
Valley of the Kinks? "Egypt investigating porno made @ Pyramids." The plot sphinx, but it shows a lot of Tuts & asp.

Did Ian have a non-compete and would it perhaps be ending soon?

Top 10 Reasons I miss Ian Punnett on the radio:

10) He and I were born the same year (1960)
9) He would talk about a lot of the same geeky stuff as I liked (like comic books, movies,  reincarnated horses etc..)
8) He advocated that in the event of a hostile alien takeover â€" the commonsensical  approach that the Canadians be eaten first.
7) Had a local connection here in the Twin Cities for some years (multiple radio shows on a handful of different stations.)
6) Had his own UFO encounter (sighting) and Ghost story (dealing with an elevator in a Chicago radio station.)
5) Was open-minded and could look at and discuss topics from differing viewpoints.
4) Had interesting topics (WWII history, the Mob, Smiley Face Killer etc.) Was not just a one trick pony when it came to themes, topics or guests.
3) Didn’t force feed his own religious beliefs to his audience (though he very well could have being an ordained church deacon.)
2) He was a self effacing,  humble dude and a very decent, well-read fellow/family man.
1) He always read (or in the very least familiarized himself with) the book under discussion on his show.

I was recently listening to an old Ian show with Gavin Menzies and it really showed that Ian read at least some of the book. Heck, he admitted as much.

You could tell it really helped him guide the interview. Ian is good at letting the guest go, but gently nudging them on track if they're working toward some point or revelation.

With regard to #3 he also could call bullshit on people and disagree/prove whatever their claim was with regard to some part of the Bible wasn't there, wasn't true, or wasn't interpreted that way in most Christian sects/history. Especially if someone was claiming some judgment, retribution, racism, politics, etc that pissed Ian off. Guests, or callers, couldn't get away with, as they do with Norry, of claiming some ancient Aramaic translation of a verse meant "Obama is the anti-Christ and decedent of the Nehpilim" or some such. Or get away with, as many New Age guests and callers claim, that "all religions are one" etc.
