The reason this is scary is because it legalizes what they are already doing.

We are well past George Orwell.  >:(

Here is the EFF's testimony to the committee:

Is this already a done deal or are they still deliberating?

What do you guys make of this ?

This may sound like a work of science fiction, but, I assure you it is not. Before I begin, I wish to state that I am not a “conspiracy theorist.” The conclusions I make are the result of almost 4 years of investigation into a personal experience in which, I believe, I was the the subject of an experiment by a DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) contractor named SARA Inc., involved in EM weapons R&D. I also believe that there were many more victims of this experiment that we will never know about. Due to my extensive background (40+ years) in computer and related technology, I was able to recognize the threat and defend against it. I will try in this writing to put things into perspective. I must state at this time that I wish to remain anonymous and this information is for informative purposes only.

The usual "sources" though. Clearly there has been some research into all kind of things. Some of which has born fruit. Heck just a few years ago you still used to see signs at cafes about "microwave use" and if you have pace-maker. But aside from some of the crowd control stuff I've heard about was more about messing with your mind, or unsettling your bowels, etc, not to kill.  I've heard some intriguing claims about "refresh rates" on television and brain wave patterns. And of course Jose Delgado, V2K, Frey Effect, etc. But why not? I could see some thoughts there going for a "kill option."

ps: this guy I used to see on The Mall in DC sometimes when he would travel down. Apparently he was sort of a cult-figure for his theories that were, at the time, pretty elaborate and come close to some of the modern techniques supposedly being investigated. And he had an intensive FBI file about him that someone got via FOIA after he died etc:

So, what are the implications of that?
Simply pointing that out. Also this statement I find odd:
"These criteria would limit the potential for investigation of death beyond a natural cause."
BS: look at Scalia, look at Jack Wheeler, look at friggin William Colby, look at......

This is interesting.  Looking forward to it being used in the search/detonation of UXO in Vietnam.

haha, that's why Putin put ban on that game in Russia as soon as the game come out,...
and people all over the World were making fun of Putin and of Russia , AND they give exactly same explanations
why that game is a double edge sword with hidden agenda with hidden potential to be misused big time

Is it possible to purge my life completely of Facebook, Twitter and Google and still be considered "on the internet?" I don't have Facebook or Twitter accounts but use Google quite a bit. However, now that I know they're in government mind contr...er, I mean the "news filtering" business I'd like to kick them to the curb entirely.  ;)

www.startpage.com also has a good rep.  I used to route through Tor as well, but nowadays I'm not sure if it's still secure.

That is what I have been using. It is a little clunky with youtube search results on my iphone, but other than that it seems fine.

Just remember that once you click on a link, your isp can still track you. I use OpenDNS instead of my provider's default DNS settings as well.

One thing cool about startpage is all the results have a Proxy link you can pick, which routes through their servers.  Sometimes it doesn't work though, or you get a garbled site.

Two quickies to get you started.
Check your DNS and make sure it is not pointing to 8.8.8.8  . I would suggest setting it to
    208.67.222.222  Primary
    208.67.220.220  Secondary / Overflow

Learn more @:   https://www.opendns.com/home-internet-security/  To whom it may concern, they are now owned by CISCO

Set your default search engine to DuckDuckGo or Ixquick / Startpage.

You also might want to consider running a JavaScript blocker by default. It can be a PITA, but it will save your ass from drive-by-downloads and some data ex-filtration.

Give this a look too:  https://vikingvpn.com/cybersecurity-wiki/browser-security/guide-hardening-mozilla-firefox-for-privacy-and-security

EDIT:  Damn - beat me to it. Give the hardening guide a look though,  ;)
