You might want to be a bit more discerning.

I have fine discernment.
Thank you very much.

If it isn't an equation, Einstein is soon to be very seldom quoted for lifestyle advice.
LOL - true.
During those times, that was the general attitude though.
The only reason I dropped the Einstein reference is because for every 10,000 people that have heard of Einstien, only one has heard of Tesla.
Hell, Art didn't even know the name in the late 90's / early 2000's.
Maybe more know about Tesla now that there are programs on TV about him, plus the steampunk revolution, and because of Elon Musk, but the average person on the street has never heard of him.  :(

Found it!

The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down

Lia Lee was born in 1981 to a family of recent Hmong immigrants, and soon developed symptoms of epilepsy. By 1988 she was living at home but was brain dead after a tragic cycle of misunderstanding, over-medication, and culture clash: "What the doctors viewed as clinical efficiency the Hmong viewed as frosty arrogance." The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down is a tragedy of Shakespearean dimensions, written with the deepest of human feeling. Sherwin Nuland said of the account, "There are no villains in Fadiman's tale, just as there are no heroes. People are presented as she saw them, in their humility and their frailty--and their nobility.

Thank you- will order a copy now and maybe we can talk about it further in the future  :)

Is it just that or does the owner of the animals feeling have an effect on it also?  Maybe owner of the animal is a wrong word, but as a pet to his/her owner.

This is going to hurt, and that's because actual science burns off driftwood.  To everything you've said I need to insist:

Prove it.

Otherwise, mere anecdotes.

The seedbed of nostrums.

This is my last comment on this for tonight. The proof is the action that was the result of specific interventions for a life-threatening illness. The person being treated did not believe this would be effective until well into the treatments, AFTER the results showed significant improvement that she could not explain to herself.

You prove that it does not work, ok? We are dealing with energies and cause-and-effect processes here that we do not yet understand.

It was always possible for humans to build a machine that would allow us to fly in it, but we could not do it until we experimented (with true scientific open mind) and found out how the laws of aerodynamics work. That was our primitive ignorance, not the impossibility of doing it in reality.

I'm out of this discussion for tonight, I still have to finish something I'm working on and am spending too much time on this <g>.

Put three chicken wings in a paper bag. Twist it tight. Now shake it over a pregnant dog and it will deliver cats. It has been proven to work in France. Look at the website.

Repeat them.

Is there a difference in result if you use spicy chicken?

Because at that, even know a bit, the Balkan types were regarded as backward, crazy people with an unstable, feuding, warlike culture whose only, possible, unity was fearing the constant invasions, betrayals, of larger countries- and their neighbor down there.

I'm having that done on my back, and yes, it is helping.  I have severe disintegrating disc disease.
Greetings Starr.  :)
I hope it helps. You'll need to talk to a nutritionist too, if you can.  ;)

$700 for the first visit.  LOL.

Only for yippy dogs like Chihuahuas & French Poodles. It has the added benefit of diarrhea to the dog.

I think Dave has been doing a great job since he took over MITD.

It’s Dave’s show now and I respect his explanation at the top of the show regarding why he chose to have this guest on and discuss this topic. I also agree with the sentiment expressed by Dave from time to time that a talk show dedicated to covering all things paranormal, anomalous, and fringe cannot always have UFOs, Bigfoot, or Ghosts as the topic of discussion (even though that would suit me just fine).

Dave is working hard to get the guest to defend homeopathy in a credible manner but the guest either won’t or can’t make a credible argument supported by either scientifc studies or empirical evidence.

I’ve listened to the first hour and a half of the show in an effort to give the topic/guest an opportunity to become interesting.  Maybe I’m in the minority but I find the topic not interesting and guest not convincing.

I’d be interested to know how the numbers for tonight’s show compare to other shows with better topics and guests.

For the first time since Dave became teh host of MITD, I’m tuning out and choosing sleep over the program..

Treatments you believe in are generally more effective than those you don't.  Anything you come across through your own research activates this effect, which is why they seem to work.

Along the same lines, thinking about medical issues causes you to discover them.  I'm getting out of here before I catch something.   :P
Lol.
