Quote from: Dr. MD MD on October 31, 2022, 01:34:44 PMHere's the thing: The West is currently being run by bad guys (globalist billionaires) so, of course, they are the bad guys. I believe the other 99% of the population are starting to agree now and would like something done about it.

This is what a victim of Russian propaganda looks like, folks.  Hate your country.  Hate its democratically elected leadership.  Cheer for Russia as a necessary counterbalance on the world stage, Russia did nothing wrong, pootie is on our side, never mind that they invade their neighbors and started this thing.

I don't think Biden is that rich, is he?  Didn't he release his taxes?

Biden lost temper with Zelenskyy in June phone call when Ukrainian leader asked for more aid

QuoteBut a phone call between the two leaders in June played out differently from previous ones, according to four people familiar with the call. Biden had barely finished telling Zelenskyy he'd just greenlighted another $1 billion in U.S. military assistance for Ukraine when Zelenskyy started listing all the additional help he needed and wasn't getting. Biden lost his temper, the people familiar with the call said. The American people were being quite generous, and his administration and the U.S. military were working hard to help Ukraine, he said, raising his voice, and Zelenskyy could show a little more gratitude.

Ukraine ships out record tonnage of grain despite Russia spurning scheme

Because all that war-is-starving-kids-in-Africa stuff was bullshit Russian propaganda, they don't give a fuck, as was apparent to anyone not hopped up on Jimmy Bore West-is-the-bad-guy videos.

Quote from: SredniVashtar on October 31, 2022, 10:35:03 AMNonsense. You're just insular and didn't want to get involved until the Japs smoked you out.

No, we drive a hard bargain.  Churchill signed away the Empire for some old destroyers, if I remember correctly, because Roosevelt had him over a barrel and anyway like a typical lying Englisher he didn't think he'd have to keep that promise.  But we made him do it.

For the rest of the world, the defeat of the British Empire by Roosevelt is far more significant than what we did in Europe.

Quote from: WOTR on October 31, 2022, 02:51:09 AMJust so that I know what to expect... When China invades Taiwan, can I look forward to these same arguments? Don't get me wrong- I hope like hell that they can repel Xi's army. I just don't know that entering that war will be a great idea either (particularly when we are already a little preoccupied standing with the Ukraine.)

Having seen our resolve with Ukraine China is far less likely to invade Taiwan than they were before.  We underscored the point by sending Nancy Pelosi to glare menacingly at them across the Strait of Formosa.  I am sorry that most of you will not recognize the flex here because you hate her so much, but the Chinese certainly do.

Quote from: SredniVashtar on October 31, 2022, 07:22:56 AMIt's pretty generally accepted that we could have kept Hitler in his box during the 'thirties if the Americans and Roosevelt had been more aggressive about telling him to stop being a dick. Unfortunately the Americans were more interested in staying out of things, which only ended up making things ten times worse than anyone.

I explained to you before, it is because a good portion of this country saw Britain as the enemy and could not tell the difference between Hitler's land-grabbing in Europe and what you guys had been doing for hundreds of years around the world.  Because there is none.

Only when Roosevelt extracted the Atlantic Charter from Churchill which guaranteed the post-world order would be based on self-determination for everyone including the peoples in bondage to your Empire was American assistance palatable to most folks here.

Where are you seeing a just war here?!

I am perfectly aware of Pootie's case for war which you have helpfully regurgitated here from his ass where you got it, I do not accept a single fucking word of it, Russia under Putin is an old-school imperialist land-grabbing state, see Georgia and Chechnya.  Bullshit provocations, blame the smaller weaker country, never Russia's fault, so boring, so predictable.

But I don't care, even if all of it were true, people facing hundreds of tanks coming across their borders are allowed to fight back.  They don't want to be Russia.  They want to join the civilized West and have rainbow flags and drag queen story time 🥳

*I'm not certain that I see a lot of peacenik behaviour in the people parroting the arguments for the Vietnam war word for word and applying them to this war.

Because this is the closest thing to the classic Just War of self-defense that most moral systems recognize that we are likely to see in our lifetimes, and it is good to help when we can.

Are you seriously thinking they should have just rolled over?  Who does that?

The ONLY sort of anti-war pacifist argument you can make here is that, by arming them and encouraging them, we are prolonging their suffering in the face of an inevitable defeat but that is fucking over man they are kicking ass 🥳 fuck Poo Tin

CNN Exclusive: Suspect in Paul Pelosi attack had bag with zip ties, source says

QuoteThe man who is alleged to have attacked Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, with a hammer in the couple's San Francisco home had with him a bag that contained multiple zip ties, among other things, according to two sources who have been briefed on the incident.

In addition to the zip ties, the suspect also had duct tape on him, according to a law enforcement source.

That could go either way, honestly  :-\

Quote from: WOTR on October 30, 2022, 12:40:29 AMThe funny thing about the situation is that it would now be me, MD, Aldous and a few other far right BG posters out protesting war at Kent state and it would be the woke, transgender, purple haired "them" in the national guard who shoots us. I keep saying that the rolls have reversed- only the new left still hold on to the belief that they have the same values as the hippies and are "good" instead of looking in the mirror at the reflection of Nixon.

*Did you know that Lennon was a Khrushchev's Klown? Can you imagine him not understanding that if we didn't stop Russia and communism in Vietnam we would all be calling each other comrade? Give peace a chance... And allow Russia to take the whole of Vietnam Ukraine?

Quote from: WOTR on October 29, 2022, 06:46:50 PMIt was a moment of weakness. I just wanted the name of the journalistic award he received, and it seemed like a quick way to find it. Yes... I am ashamed.  :-[ I was simply commenting that they have really done a number on his page- and I'm wondering if it is since he is hosting Dore's show, or if it predated that.

I'm willing to come clean in an effort to help you financially. I am aware that you are taking the "Soros Bux". I had looked into it some time back, but found that Putin paid better. On average, I'm paid almost twice the "Soros" rate per paragraph. And there is a bonus from Syria if you can work them in as well. They pay me roughly a quarter of their annual GDP for my posts (The cheques generally average $17.27.)

I will say that since Putin committed a terrorist act against his own pipeline and contributed to crippling his economy, the pay has been reduced. But it is still well worth listening to Pud and Shreddie accuse you of being a "Putin puppet." They should see the Bugatti parked in my drive.  ;)

Haha no way, Poo Tin hates LGBT but Soros wants to make all the manly men gay and I am behind that 100% or in front of that, depending

Quote from: pate on October 29, 2022, 02:41:20 PMI would like to thank everyone for the kind prayers for my unfortunate triple-caccinated mother's battle with teh CornHoleEbola-19.5.

She has survived so far, although she is a bit irritable (I don't think it is a direct side effect of either the Caccine nor her Infection).

I believe she is still in self-Corn Teen;  but we both ignore that fact when I stop by for visits:  we Do Not Discuss my apparent invulnerability to the Whirl'd Ending Dreaded Death Plague.

Mainly we talk about Gardens, Lawns, and Such as I recently aerated & over-seeded her yard which she is quite excited about and talk of thus cheers her up.

My Father apparently escaped the dreaded disease, which I think, contributes somewhat to her irritability.  On my last visit a few days ago she seemed completely back to normal.

Praise Be!

And thank you all again for the Prayers, Thoughts, and Well Wishes.
