There are so many, I don't really know where to start. Since the thrust <yar> of this thread is 'latest', and the idea is for the musical entity in question to be one you really love, maybe I'd have to go with The Feeling. I actually discovered them a while back, but I adore them, and the video of them performing their songs at Abbey Road I've watched repeatedly--I just love 'em. I realize, of course, that anyone being honest would have put Miley Cyrus at the top of this list, but since that's a given I figured I'd list someone else. :-0

Right now I'm really big into Suspyre, a power/prog metal band that fuses jazz and classical elements to create story-telling albums. My current favorite is their album "A Great Divide". Here's a random song selection from the CD.

Fuck yeah! Ill Bill and Necro are some of my favorites in the current hip-hop realm. I really dig his one track "Anatomy of a School Shooting". He's and Necro are surprisingly talented writers, despite the fact Necro, at least, tends to sound brain-dead in many of his interviews.

everyone should take a good listen to this song, it shows a complete and surprisingly compassionate understanding of the school shooting phenomenon, because bill was a geek at school too and was picked on for it he understands exactly why someone would go to such extremes. this is how that anger should be expressed, in a discipline such as poetry where you get to examine your feelings, poetry is cathartic, its a way of escaping, much the same as any artform, its just a shame this one has been hijacked for the ost part by idiots who think they have to live out what they hear rather than see it as a way of frustrated people living it out in their words.

Indeed. The song makes an excellent point that I personally can understand. I was never really a geek or a "cool" kid. I played sports and video games. Pretty much everyone knew me. But I saw a lot of cruelty throughout school, and at that age a kid's ego is pretty fragile. In direct relation to Columbine, I have to admit an amount of sympathy for Harris and Klebold. They weren't completely random. There was method, which implies the obvious planning, which implies motive. You have to ask - what was the motive? Or more specifically perhaps, "who"? And at that point the whole scenario becomes pretty transparent for me.
