Generally people follow the restrictions, but I think this time people are pretty pissed about it all after what happened last year. Until yesterday there were virtually no restrictions at all except masks on public transport and in supermarkets, so people were able to meet family and friends with no problem (as long they're in the same state/country). Gyms, restaurants, and cinemas were open without capacity caps, the Australian Open is being held currently and crowd caps were 30k/day.

Went to the petrol station at about 10.30pm and the roads and streets were unusually full of people. I guess they still had crowds at the tennis too for tonight only, except with this message:

From that to a lock-down? Wow. It's almost like there is no middle ground with complete instability and likely a feeling that you cannot be in control of the smallest aspect of your own life anymore. I suppose one day this will just feel normal...

The idea that, with the collapse of the Cold War and the scary commie threat that oriented society, conspiracy allows maintaining the childish facile good-vs.-evil stories well into adulthood is not new, and neither is the idea that techno-demon aliens targeting and ritually emasculating men for their reproductive potency (the pervasive sperm collection and the gay panic of weebering) represents the sublimation of men's deep insecurities about their place in the modern world, but it's fun to read someone else's take on it.

Thank goodness we can finally move on from that to the more scientific good vs. evil maskers, anti-vaxers, and demonizing those who walk in the out door... Let's not even get started on those selfish enough to still see family members when explicitly forbidden to do so.  ;)

I guess the good news is that we can still maintain those good vs. evil narratives. And now we have Dr. Fauchi to look to as a savior figure and to confirm that we are correct to call those who will not triple mask "evil grandma killers."

I was wondering about what kind of exhaust was in the pipe.  Apparently a type that was warm enough to keep him alive during the winter months.  That, and what kind of toilet facilities were available to him.

Was at the gym when it was announced, and everyone was gathered around someone streaming the press conference and listening in. Reminded me of something out of WW2 or 9/11. I think there was an immediate pall over everyone once announced since we've already been through all this crap before and thought it finally under control.

But that is exactly it... It is 100% about control at this point. Most of the people in my area are fed up and have been visiting indoors (while parking down the street and maintaining a low profile.) Even one couple I know who has not even seen their family since the start is going to celebrate their grandson's birthday with family this weekend. We are talking a prefect record of 4 months of absolutely no in person contact between them and their kids and grandchildren now being "illegally" broken.

I think people are waking up to the fact that it is never going to end. There has never been a virus like this that was eradicated- we have learned to live with each one. I hear people grumbling that the mental issues, child developmental issues, addiction issues and societal break down is not worth it. I would agree- but I am too busy self-isolating in my basement to actually have an opinion.

Do most people down there actually pay attention? I'm not talking parties. But do people still see their family and close friends?

You need to go talk to Keef he is still working through his feelings about Trump's loss, here is the fourth or maybe the third stage of grief which is bargaining, I forget:

Originally he said he was going to focus on something other than on politics but now every day it seems he is still grinding away at it.  And he can't get anyone to follow him to parler or gab or telegram, kind of sad to see.  He really needs someone to play Trump with.

And now it is silver? That is where if they are not forcing the issue by buying physical, they will have their asses handed to them. That one has shorts backstopped by the central banks with an unlimited amount of money and paper shorts and  if they were successful would cause a massive collapse and shatter the illusion of fiat. Buying physical- great. I look forward to seeing the little man behind the curtain. Buying paper? Ouch. This one is not just a few billionaires with hedge funds. It is nation states.

Just going to point out this story from the precious metals website, Kitco yesterday...

"(Kitco News) The mainstream media got the silver story wrong, according to Guardian Vaults business development manager John Feeney, who said the real story is in the physical squeeze, and it is far from over. A lot of the mainstream media picked up the silver story, calling it a short squeeze, which was misguided. The real story that is happening is a physical squeeze in the market, where it is really difficult to get stock," Feeney told Kitco News on Monday."

Anyhow, I find that amusing.

I absolutely love it. It is official- Astrazenica announces that a vaccine against the new variants is 6-9 months away (and then there will be another variant after that with another shot 6 months later...) So, if you get the African variant (supposedly much more infectious), the Astrazenica vaccine provides "minimal" protection.

Yet, the CDC just gave out guidelines that anybody who is fully vaccinated need not self isolate if they were in close contact with somebody who is infected. Does anybody doubt this is 100% about control? "Show me your vaccine passport. O.K. Although you have no protection- but you are free to live your life unlike the troglodyte who is not protected because he refused a vaccine."

*You may enjoy the second link telling us all to double mask. It is very, very important. Do you want to kill grandma?

**Also on my list of questions from that report. If Madison Square Garden can reopen at 10% capacity, has the governor allowed churches to reopen? Or is singing much more dangerous than cheering?

Fuckers.

I have collected as much as I am going to from this pandemic. Which means nothing. But like a good Canadian socialist, I am happy to contribute so that those in their teens can retire on UBI.

*Don't get me wrong- when the government forces you to shut down, they can pay employees. But I know a ton of (mostly) young people making more now than they did when they worked and a number who have told their boss that they are not going back (and they don't.)

I don't see anything wrong with this...

I was listening to the "news" a few days ago when they brought up a company that is "Metis owned." This company has a policy of employing at least 40% natives. Now, out of all of the groups in the frozen north- I will say that is the group most discriminated against... But still. Why can they demand that the next hire be native to keep their quota and I can't say that I need to hire a straight white man for my next hire?

How is this any different than white owned businesses in the 60's only wanting to hire whites? How is this actually not only alright, but celebrated on the news?

I figured that I would drop another great Trudeauism here. Canada promised to buy vaccines for third world countries in addition to our own by contributing to a WHO initiative COVAX. (You can argue if that is good or bad- but the optics were good for the little rat.) Now Canada is not getting enough of the vaccines, and he has decided to take 2 million doses from COVAX to give to Canadians.

I wouldn't have a problem with this if they did it from the start. If they said "once all Canadians are vaccinated, we will give the crumbs to the rest of the world." But that little fuck wanted it both ways. When he thought there would be enough vaccines, he promised to help poor nations along with us and got the pat on the head he wanted. Now that there are not enough vaccines, he is willing to fuck over the most vulnerable and be the only G7 country to draw from the COVAX fund. And the caring "liberals" don't bat an eye. I suppose it is easy to pretend to care when you think you have enough... But when it comes down to it, we should vaccinate the 20 year old college student while a nurse in a covid ward in Zimbabwe does not have access... Liberalism at it's finest.

He bought enough to vaccinate every Canadian 4 times over- now they are not being delivered and he is in panic mode (shocking that big pharma and other countries are not afraid of the new "Cuck led Canada" and are not going to deliver.)

As Justine said when he was elected... "Canada's back" (to take your vaccines.)

With credit to the trustworthy news source, the Babylon Bee...

AUSTIN, TXâ€"Local woman Heather Karenson told her fellow Walmart shoppers Tuesday that she can't believe some churches and small businesses think it's safe to reopen already.

As the herd of people pressed in close together, waiting to pay for their stuff for two hours at the one open register, the woman ranted about how dumb some Christians are for going back to church already.

"Close proximity with all those people, singing and stuff? Man, those people are really anti-science," she said as she waited in line...

I suppose that I should note that Janet Yellin collected 7.2 million in "speakers fees" (more accurately described as bribes for future considerations) over the last two years. Hell, Citidel alone payed her $800,000. But hey, I'm sure that is the going rate for a "feel good" speech these days. Not a bribe at all...

And while it may not be corrupt, I don't think that most of the mainstream media is reporting on the request from Whitehouse that reporters let them know in advance what questions they might be asking. It appears that they are sad that they might be asked uncomfortable questions and would like to avoid that possibility. (I get that Trump did not really do a great job with press briefings either...)

The Proud Boys Are Officially Considered A Terrorist Group In Canada {02/03/2021 03:17 pm ET]

Uh, hope you haven't ordered that Hawaiian Shirt yet...  Probably too late to cancel the order if you already did, the Mounties probably already have your bunker surrounded.

I can offer you safe haven in the PFRDp, but you will have to settle in a backyard Terrorist Training Camp.  Bring your own gear, although compared to Canada the winters are probably quite nice:  Hardly ever gets below 20F.

I will inform the Canine Army Commandant immediately, hopefully you haven't ordered that shirt yet and this can just be another routine Training Exercise for the lads and lass.

Desk:  Duly and Unanimously Elected Dear Leader For Life pate.

GENDIST,FOCUO

I appreciate the offer. Unlike certain other Bellgabbers, I do not expect a shed to be provided and am happy to bring my own tent. It honestly may come down to my accepting your offer if our government continues on their path. It is getting a little scary in terms of outright censorship, banning guns, illegal incarceration and now declaring thousands of Canadians to be terrorists overnight because you don't like their politics. I try not to be alarmist- but that man has done more to change (destroy) Canadian values and freedoms than anybody else in recent memory. And we are rolling over on command like your commandant.

The worst part? Those mentally deficient self-righteous idiots in the east will reelect the little dictator next election.

Nope. This action is known as open defiance of a stupid, fucking law. I cannot actually join them without legally being a terrorist. I cannot support them. But I can wear a shirt to make a point that the gobbermint does not actually get to have that much control.

Yup. They don't share the "right" values. They are now a terrorist group. Like I posted in another thread, I will be ordering a proud boys shirt to this summer. Absolutely unreal. I think that the Liberals are now throwing all kinds or things out now knowing that they are not legal. But hoping to fatigue the few lawyers who actually will challenge them. It's a sad day.

I wonder when Biden will join Canada in and label them terrorists? Trump specifically did not label Antifa or BLM as such. But we all know how much more open minded the left is.
