I didn't know that. The thing is, they already know his views. They just want to create controversy. It's not like he hasn't done plenty of debates (6). It's all getting very old.

Think about it this way, the democrats get their ass kissed at every debate, given softball pre-planned questions, and Fox News is specifically going after the Republican front runner in an attempt to make him look foolish?

Why would Trump want to participate in that when he specifically is the reason so many people are watching the Republican debates?

Tough questions are fine, but setting up one candidate and attempting to tear him down doesn't help the process.

Who is this "we"? It certainly isn't the  Americans scraping by, day-to-day, being fed the usual narrative and saying "fuckit, got bills to pay". Considering where these "facts" are coming from, they're not in line with anything, really.
Real facts, as in statistic driven facts are just that. You can fight them all you want, you can disagree with them from an ethical or moral standpoint, fine, but they are the facts.

Who do you propose Trump should pick?

i haven't given it much thought.

It doesn't matter if he's in the debate or not - Trump isn't going to be the Republican nominee.

i also think he'll be the nominee, but i'll confess a big chunk of that is rooted in hope.  however, it's still too early to say that definitively.  anything could happen.

...and probably will.  I would dearly love to see Trump shake up D.C.,... if he won the election,.... but he's such a loose cannon.  At some point, he'll say something so over the top that the people who like him now will have to shake their heads and look around for a more viable candidate to back.

let me rephrase the question.  in your own words, what does trump say that doesn't align with the facts?  i can use google, too.
My personal favorite and the one he has had to backtrack on (but still pretends that he has been vindicated) is that he saw "thousands and thousands of Muslims in the streets cheering on 9/11", yeah didn't happen quite like that.

He wants to kill suspected terrorists families. While not necessarily a fact it is a statement on how to conduct counter-terrorism, and not a very correct one according to most studies in which state violence, in this case Israel against Palestine groups was studied.

[I had the above study but now I cannot find it, I'll post what I am talking about when I do]

Cruz still thinks his Princeton debating team skills work in politics.  They don't.  In the last debate, Trump mugged for the camera while Cruz thought he was being brilliant, then DT turned and mugged Cruz.  Cruz is collapsing, even in Evangeland.

I think the Republican party at the last minute in fear of alienating their Christian conservative base will make a huge push for Cruz or Rubio - I wouldn't be surprised if either of those two will be the nominee. I think their preference would be Jeb but they do want to actually try winning this time.

This is without a doubt. But on the flipside you have Sanders who'll destroy the economy and try to atone for imaginary racial slights instead of running a super power. Then you got Clinton who still a year away from the election is drowning in scandals and who's only real credibility is she's the wife of one of the best Presidents in most of our living memories. Cruz as a candidate is almost as insulting as Romney was. There's no other real candidate out there.

that's your opinion.  i disagree.

Sure, an opinion. However, what kind of man goes after a woman like Trump went after Kelly -- just for asking a tough, but fair, question? Accusing her, in a rather crude and boorish manner, of being on her cycle? He`s a pig, pure and simple.

You know, I gave him a break on the "McCain scandal", but I was pretty disappointed that he was that oblivious. But the Megyn Kelly dust-up just lifted the veil completely. Not only is he a fool, he`s a f****ing pig. And I don`t give a damn how many women he employs.

The only push Cruz will get from the GOP establishment is off a cliff.  GOP insiders wouldn't piss on Cruz if he was on fire.  He IS hated by his own party, and not just "the Establishment".

If they would be moderators instead of trying to make the news, the debates would be much better and the voters would be better served.

Yes, I'm sure that Megyn Kelly and Fox are hoping to stir things up, get Trump to make himself look bad, probably causing a ratings surge (for a while) for Fox.  Perhaps Trump skipping the debate is as simple as he doesn't want to even give them the opportunity to do that.

So was Reagan.

Trump is gambling on his ability to buffalo the American electorate. He`ll make it sound like a highly thought-out, strategic decision yada yada, as if his business acumen is so keen, he`s virtually incapable of making a poor decision. NONSENSE. He makes plenty of them. This is just one of them. Although, I doubt it`ll amount to much, as his lead seems to be insurmountable.

VS Trump the establishment will get quickly behind Cruz since he presents a much better pew boy for their precious base. Realize as time goes on and the perception that Trump will be the candidate that massive attacks on his former liberal positions will be spread across television, print, and radio. I have a friend who is a Christian right conservative and he absolutely hates Trump - see him as a phony Christian and despises that he is a casino mogul. Who does my friend like? Jeb.

I think there's going to be a huge push to bury Trump.

Trump has the momentum here.

He perfectly played the media on this.

Look at all the media players running to their computers to trash Trump.  He single handily exposed the right wing shills for what they are.  They aren't for an actual debate, they wanted Trump to show up and be part of a last ditch hit piece on him.  The media and even Fox want a candidate they can control.  They can't control Trump because he is such a force, Trump has turned the power towards himself.  Fox News needs Trump,  Trump doesn't need Fox News.

Trump is the draw at these debates, not some blonde bimbo who has to create a career for herself by attacking Trump.

Lastly, Trump has out debated everyone over the course of 5-6 debates.  He has been the clear winner of every debate.  There is no strategic reason Trump needs to attend.  Only the desperate will show up on Thursday to the debate.

Yeah, right lol. The grand narcissist himself, who`s, never in his life, missed a chance to be on camera -- especially with over 10 million people watching -- suddenly gets shy and decides it`s just not important enough to be on a lit stage in front of his millions of adoring fans. Wow. That`s a pretty thin stretch.

He`s scared of Kelly. Period.

Zetaspeak

Trump is a real strange cat, and being in the world of politics that's saying something.

I have never seen anybody willing to burn as many bridges on  the slightest criticism. Even if the criticism is done with soft-gloves and very gently, Trump will go off on them with a flame thrower lol. What even funnier is after he does that the Right-winger who criticizes him always seemed shocked that he Trump turned on them. I am like, what you're surprised, he reacts like that all the time.

Trump doesn't seem to want supporters, he wants cult like submissive yes-people. That just way too strange for me, as my entire life I never supported a party and definitely never a candidate 100% on the issues. If I supported Trump lets say 80% of the way (which I don't, not even close) but if I told him he's got my vote because I support 80% of what he stands for, he will probably tell me to F-off lol.

Saying all that he's still better than Cruz.

Soft porn?? ReallY? If you think that`s soft porn, you better stay hidden in the basement.

This is, by far, the most "risque" photo in the lot:

I have to disagree.

That image is not from the recent Vanity Fair piece.

Even so, that`s soft porn?? Come on, man. You guys ever have a girlfriend?

I never called any of it soft core. I mean I don't hold it against her.

On a better topic, no one ever says this except me because I follow Dutch politics but Geert Wilders' hair and Trump's hair is far too similar.

Well.. it's relative - to my Christian friend who sees Fox as the ONLY channel to watch on TV then yes to him that is porn and has disowned Megyn just for that mag spread.
