PM 'unaware' that Britain currently has NO working hunter-killer attack submarines (let's hope nobody's told Mr Putin either)
Royal Navy currently has no 'hunter-killer' attack submarines on active duty
Five of the seven in service are said to be undergoing maintenance work
The HMS Astute is at sea but is till undergoing tests following an inspection
It comes a day after the RAF scrambled jets to intercept Russian bombers

It's. the. Daily. Mail.

And even if it were true, and I find it implausible it is.. Their secrets haven't been given to the Russians...Unlike what the American bloke who spawned the Taylor class made available. Ever wondered why Soviet subs got to be a match for US and Brit subs in the 80s? He's yer man.

And a Whitehall source, said: “No one is being honest about the scandal.”

Huh, so you find it "implausible" yet Cameron finds it to be a 'scandal"...

https://www.savetheroyalnavy.org/attack-submarine-force-sinking-below-critical-mass/

While the RN’s submarine force has some outstanding people and exceptional boats, it has lost ‘critical mass’, so overstretched that its potency is degraded. Furthermore there is little prospect of a remedy in the next decade. Much like the surface fleet, the future of the RN submarine force will be a very few top-quality eggs in a few very expensive baskets. Nevertheless, if you are a terrorist in a training camp or a hostile warship or submarine commander, the Astute class submarines maybe causing you sleepless nights.

I'm not embarrassed. (2011-2015 is way past its sell by date)  I have lots of opinions about the past and present UK governments, and frankly Cameron 'flying into a rage' is a sight I'd love to see...The same rage that the top brass at the RAF flew into when he decided to offload the Harriers I shouldn't wonder? Ideal support aircraft for the later strikes in Libya and Syria, instead they had to use Tonkas flying from the UK. Offloading the R1 Nimrod I can understand, but not the Harriers.

As for the 'Yawn'.. yeah, I'm certain you'd have taken that attitude if you'd been an American submariner knowing that the tech keeping you alive and undetectable had been given to your adversary who not only know how to do the same, but know how to find and kill you.

What the hell happened in here?   I go down to the home improvement center for a bit and come back to see Royal Navy and Royal Family stuff?  That's never going to work.  That's not the correct way to poke S.V. with a stick.      Now here's a better approach I think........

The growing threat of a stealth tax on the rubbish we throw away was exposed by startling figures yesterday.

More than 2.5million homes now have wheelie bins fitted with microchips to weigh their contents.

This is an increase of nearly two-thirds in just a year. The bins, which can be electronically identified and weighed, are designed for 'pay-as-you-throw' rubbish tax schemes.

Your Garbage Can Could Be Spying On You 228

"Garbage cans all over England are under surveillance tonight. And not by sleepy, fallible humans. This article in Live Science claims that at least 500,000 'wheelie bins' are now using RFID technology."

Though that doesn't sound very dire, the article points out the ease with which your consumer spending habits could be tracked.
"Although this is frankly a story that is difficult to take seriously, please note the following. You should remember that many of the articles you buy (and sooner or later throw away) are now also equipped with passive RFID tags that detail the item's brand name and product name. If it's possible to scan the tag on the trash can with an ID, it's possible to use similar equipment to quickly scan your can to uncover your purchasing habits."

http://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/news/11487644.Bins_wheelie_aren___t_spies__Residents_assured____chips_have_no_sinister_intent___/
RESIDENTS are being assured that microchips in new bins being delivered to homes in west Dorset are not part of a ploy to spy on them.

Containers are being dropped off at homes in Weymouth and Portland and parts of west Dorset ready for the new Recycle for Dorset collection scheme being rolled out by the Dorset Waste Partnership (DWP).

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk/8550929.stm

Privacy campaigners claim increasing numbers of councils are gearing up for "pay as you throw" rubbish charges by installing microchips in wheelie bins.
The Big Brother Watch group says its survey found 68 UK authorities with the technology at their disposal - up from 42 last year - with chips in 2.6m bins.

Preparing for a new era in privacy regulation
As of May 25, 2018, a European privacy law, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is in effect. The GDPR imposes new rules on companies, government agencies, non-profits, and other organizations that offer goods and services to people in the European Union (EU), or that collect and analyze data tied to EU residents. The GDPR applies no matter where you are located.

We believe that the GDPR is an important step forward for clarifying and enabling individual privacy rights. We want to help you focus on your core business while efficiently preparing for the GDPR.
We are committed to GDPR compliance across our cloud services and provide GDPR related assurances in our contractual commitments.
