I'm not sure I need to hear from these people at all.  It's a religion for them, and they are fanatics.  I have yet to hear an original thought from one.  They all say the same thing all the time.  They simply repeat what they hear inside the bubble and tell themselves that's what critical thinking is.  It's such a convoluted distorted mess that I seldom hear anything resembling political self awareness, or anything related to the real world.  They aren't really even aware of the details of anything other than what they are spoon fed, and trust that wholeheartedly - if they do hear it, it's dismissed so quickly it's as if they are afraid of their religious beliefs challenged.  One might as wall be telling an uncontacted stone age tribe in the Amazon that the rocks and hills don't have spirits.  As a group in this country, they've done much damage.  The people guiding them are destroying the country intentionally. 

I can easily find anything they have to say straight from the source - the media.  In fact it's more difficult to avoid than to find.  This country would be very much better off if we removed them from power and ignored them.

Well, he's Canadian and so inherently socialistic. However, he's also from Alberta, I believe and, until recently, it was one of the most conservative areas of the country (Cowboys live there). WOTR has even admitted to being a Western separatist at one time, meaning he was so at odds with the federal government that he wanted his province (and BC presumably) to secede. So, not exactly your typical libtard.

You forgot Saskatchewan (and possibly even Manitoba.)  BC is just necessary for the port... But it is kind of the California of Canada in terms of politics.  Still, we need some way to access foreign markets...

I can almost guarantee that next election the province will be painted blue again (Conservative here is blue.)  Even then, our conservatives are very close to the center.  We had a party that was actually right of center, but they voted to "merge" with the PC's.  Now we are back to no real choice.

I'm right about where I am happy being in terms of politics..  I really don't feel the need to toe any party line or try to make others happy. 

Funny you should ask this. I just finished ""Bad Religion, how we became a nation of heretics." Judge it how you want- it is a book trying to argue that society is falling farther from God even where people sometimes think they are getting closer.  Not a bad book at all.

One of the passages that I thought was fitting was" The more that politics becomes the landscape of good versus evil, real Americans versus fascists or socialists, liberty versus tyranny, the greater the pressure to simply conform your theology to ideology.  Whether they are Catholics or Protestants, lukewarm or zealots, believers often find themselves pressured to "join the side they are on" instead of trying to do justice to the inevitable complexities of political life in the city of man.

It goes on to say

Quick "thanks" to all of you.  I do usually enjoy my time here, and appreciate the banter.  I figure that debate can help to show the various sides of an argument and if there are small flaws or gaping holes.  Bellgabbers are generally good a finding gaping holes.

I know that there are a few people here who are very serious about politics, and think it is "us or them" and almost a war.  I'm just not to that point yet- so I entertain different ideas and thoughts (sometimes I am very serious about them- sometimes it is more flirting with a position...)
