Hi, Williedee!  I'm excited to start listening - I'm confused, can we start or are you working on it and it's not out yet?

Isn't it dangerous to listent to torents (viruses?)

Not from a trusted site. And if you have a malware program and scan your d/l's it isn't that dangerous.

Well--whatever happens next with Art being on the air, I doubt it'll be soon, so this torrent, when it's completed, will certainly be "definitive" from 1992-2013. Hell, since you're targeting Christmas/New Year's, why not just make it a goal to release after the last SIT of 2013, on December 28? That way, there can then be monthly containing of 4-5 SIT shows plus whatever new sources may come down the pike as we go along, and then with a new version release around Christmas/New Year's every year after that? If that makes sense.

Just a thought. :)

I haven't been collecting SIT shows, so if somebody would like to get them all from this past year and compile them into a folder, I'd add them for sure. I just don't have time to snag everything from everwhere.

morphiaflow

I feel like an ass for not remembering the name--was it funkybaldy?--he was collecting them weekly until he had to stop in August. So if you have all of his stuff, you have them until then, at least. I'll poke around and see if anyone else has been snagging them.

Just wanted to update ya'll.
I've been slowly working through jaz's stuff, there's a lot of good shows in there. Some misdates though, so i've been painstakingly listening through a lot of them for time clues -.- . Anyways, that's what I've been up to.
Hi Will, spare yourself - I've checked them already :)  Well, at least I checked those I downloaded, which is about 90% of 'em (thank you, jazmunda) since I have the other 10%.

Now I'm just about done with validating shows for 2003 (fairly easy) and 2002 and making a list (spreadsheet, actually) of what to compile and from where. It's surprising what you find when listening to the shows. You think a show is OK and it's not (incomplete, misdated). Going by the duration is not always reliable, but it certainly helps. Between all of us someone almost always has a good one.  (I'm comparing jazmunda's, driton's, mine, and widespread's.)

Didn't know if I could pull this off, but I have. It's very painstaking but put me down for this task on the next few, 2001, 2000, 1999, and then we'll see. That's 7 more years back.... yikes. I'm dancing as fast as I can.

Also, I found in my collection a handful of new (old) AB shows that are not on any list. (well, a whopping 5 shows so far).

2002 Missing Shows - anyone have any of these?

2002-01-11 - Art Bell - Open Lines

2002-03-05 - Jose Escamilla - RODS Footage

Well, i did find a few shows in jaz's upload that weren't correct, but I think I'll mostly take your word for it ;)

The biggest problem is that there isn't always guest information online for the shows, so listening provides that as well.

I don't have any of those shows you mentioned. :(

And finally, are you actually going to go through and validate 2001 and back?? Crikey! Whose files are you planning on using? I'd love for you to use mine... ;D

Thanks.

I started validating some of the shows. Found some of the misdates. Been using this http://web.archive.org/web/20021003205446/http://www.artbell.com/guesta.html and then http://web.archive.org/web/20021206100712/http://www.artbell.com/topics.html to cross check shows.

I find that a lot of the show rundowns have what I need but sometimes I just have to do process of elimination based on guest appearances.

Also, I have none of the shows you listed!

Oh, I misspoke then, I did find misdates and stuff in j's shows and noted them down to share with you. I just thought this might save you some work.

For 2002, I was fairly sure of having everything that's in general circulation, but it's true that the farther back in time it goes, the more it will be imperative to collaborate our collections and I will definitely want to do that for 2001 and back. ;)

It has notes all over it so it's hard to share but that's what I'm hoping to do with the spreadsheets I'm making that will show which collection has what. The more collections that can fill in holes, the better.

ah i see :)

No joke about that, the more collections the better. I will be creating a master list of files that I have soon, for comparisons sake.

Glad to see more stuff coming out of the woodwork and so much care going into all this. Makes me SO excited for the final torrent.

Speaking of which, another suggestion Willie (are you tired of them yet?)

How about including Art's interview on GabCast the other night in the 2013 section as sort of a post-script to the Dark Matter episodes?

as complete as possible.

A few things.

1. I d/led the complete art bell torrent you posted, and I have separated Cost shows with Dreamland shows. If I'm not mistaken there are 39 files of dreamland.

2. The Oklahoma City Bombing show doesn't play its alvin and the chipmunks lol. FYI.

3. I understand you have a ton more to post, and you have errors or corrections to make to this collection. I was just wondering if you plan to take down the old torrent and put up the new one as a whole. or if your just going to upload the new stuff as a whole and just make corrections were we need to?  For me personally it took a while to d/l that huge file so I'm hoping you can just do a second part with all the new stuff and a list of corrections to make.  If you don't i understand.  Just askin.

ok so its 3 things not a few lol

Jackstar

I need the show from November 14, 1997.

Does anyone have this one? I have looked through 3 mega-huge torrents, and have not located it. Please advise.

Who was the guest? If it's in the SIT or C2C archives on the website, I can give you my C2C Insider login and password so you can at least listen to it if you need to.

Guys, here's a concern I have:

Many people, such as me, have pretty detailed file naming systems, and have directories nested inside directories 5 or 6 deep.  Now with such a long naming convention, the file naming system will be forced to be truncated for some doing the torrents, it might be better to title the shows C2CAM rather than the full name.  Don't want to ruffle anyone's feathers though.

jazmunda

I never understood which C2CAM needs to be in the file name.

I always just use the date and the topic or if frequent guest then their name.

Eg: 1999-04-13 Invisibility or 1997-05-22 Kaku

I don't find it necessary either, so I've been deleting the name C2CAM from my files. I keep only the date, guest name, and topic.

BTW, Jaz:
Do you have a list of the shows you have in your collection? I'd love to see what you have, and what I might need from it. :)

Just an update for everybody:

January has been working very hard and has completed 2006 and some of 2005, while i've gotten 2010 - 2008 finished. I am currently conversing with a few other collectors, and finding out what they have and what I still need. I've had a very busy semester, so things haven't gotten done like I planned.. But things are continuing to move along :)

Here's the work progress so far:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhzjQzl__nVwdFdCR1NiMzFqb0xwLVpHRGJfbjdSbnc&usp=sharing

I am open to suggestions on naming, i just hate the look of C2CAM. It makes me physically ill  :P I read it as "Coast to CAM"

unfortunately I have changed a lot since the first torrent, including file tags. I understand that the first one took a long time to download :/

If you want, you can just download whatever shows you still need, but its going to be a completely refreshed everything.
