Dammit dude!  You must be a Time Traveller, already traveled fwd and listened.  How'd it go?

Difficult to say - there were these ladies who talked me into drinking with them. I don't remember much after that....

....fuzzy recollections of flaming drinks and some masked dude running around in a red costume...

Woke up on the street with no pants and only one sock. At least they left me my car keys.

Let me start the first rumor.  She is in talks to book Ryan Reynolds on his participation in the Marvel Universe of franchisable flicks.  And also is RR playing Deadpoll or is he playing RR playing Deadpool?

It's RR playing Deadpool who is playing RR playing Deadpool

now my head's all spinny....   :o

LOL - the Sun is only 3000 miles from the flat earth...

While I do not understand how anyone can believe the flat earth theory, I just love having an outlet where topics like this can be discussed/debated.

Whether or not you believed him, it was great radio last night. Personally, I think Art might have been a little hard on the guy, but it was still a lot of fun to listen to. I thought the physicist was going to go apoplectic a couple of times   8)

Great show, Art!  I hope that you are having as much fun with MiTD as it sounds like.

And cool - a Bigfoot show tonight!

I had the most drop out problems last night, since the first Sunday warm-up show.  Mainly in the first hour.

What made last night different?  Thunderstorms?  Hoagie tripping over cables?  Dave sabotage?  Keith forgetting to pay a bill?

Angelsh freebasing turmeric kick the power cord out of the wall?

Is the stream occasionally stopping, then restarting for anyone else?  It doesn't happen often (maybe once every 3-4 minutes or so), but it's really annoying.

The same thing was happening to me using the pop-up player. Kept having to hit 'play' to start the stream again.

Thank goodness for Time Traveler archives!   :)

I like the creepy guests.  Remember the remote viewing freak that started worshipping Lucifer and broke off from Ed Dames?  Great guest.  Aaron something, I think.

Art should book John Lear as a guest to comment on his Batman story...

True! Forget Lazar, the Moon being towed here, and the Giant Soul Collector on the Moon...

We want to hear about your appearance on Batman!

Oh, that's hilarious!

Here's to many, many more!

Just a general observation.  It must be nice to be able to sit and listen, pick things apart, sift through minutiae and then offer inconsequential and often irrelevant criticism.   Just saying. . .

it's what makes Bellgab only vaguely lovable   8)

Art seems so much more "into it' this time. When he was on sirius he almost seemed...irritable ( I mean no disrespect to mr bell) .. and on this program he genuinely seems happy to be back.

I agree. He seems much more engaged, and also sounds like he is happy to be (back) on the air - always a good formula for great shows!

I do think we need to have a show soon on ayahuasca, and other mind altering substances.  A new Terrance McKenna is needed.  Aldous could probably help us find someone to stand in for McKenna......though there can be no replacement.

I'll volunteer....just as long as I get to do the research      8)

It may be just me, but this sounds so much more like Art in the 90s/early 2000s

Just sounds like Art is having fun to me

I'll be thinking and wishing "CLEAR SKIES OVER ART, CLEAR SKIES OVER ART, CLEAR SKIES OVER ART. . ." the whole day Monday. The power will STAY ON.  :)

All Gabbers, please do the same. Let's put that collective power of intention to work on July 20.

It worked at Woodstock   ;)

You're right.  My original post was just a cry for help.  I'll start rehab Monday.  (Actually, Sunday)

Part of the 12 step Turmeric Program:
1. Acknowledge the higher power that is MiTD
2. Remove yourself from the dangerous environment where you abused the turmeric and embrace the higher power that is MiTD
3. Repeat the following at least three times a day: "Turn off your radio!"
4. Avoid gerbils

That's why I only freebase, once, twice a week max.

That's where it starts: You begin by free-basing turmeric, then soon you're dying your hair black, eating pizza rolls, and....well, it just gets worse from there.

So Art's exact quote was "By the way I will be a Guest Friday on a show with hundreds of stations"

Could we be sleuthing this a bit off?  How about the possibility of a guest appearance on a TV show with hundreds of stations?

The New Horizons Pluto flyby was just a ruse by NASA. They secretly dropped a transmitter station on the planet so that the alien fleets amassing just outside our solar system can pick up MiTD.

So the hundreds of stations could include those secret bases on the Moon, Mars, etc.     8)

"Coming to you live from the High Desert, across this great land of ours, and now including Guam, the Moon, and the REST of the solar system, I'm Art Bell."

Found this cool site today http://lightyear.fm/

according to that, 20 light years away, someone cold be receiving broadcasts from 1995.  If there's anybody out there, they could be listening to some Art Bell live right now :)

that means someone 30 light years away is seeing our 80's music videos

gawd, help us all....

Loved WKRP, and the turkey episode was one of the best.

And the episode where Carlson was hitting his foot after numbing it with coke, thinking it was foot powder.

I was just reading it a moment ago. It's well worth a look and has some interesting answers. I never knew that he lived in the same road as Peter Wyngarde, a famous British actor from the 'seventies who was outed as gay and his career promptly went 'pop' overnight. Probably most famous to people as the man who played Klytus in Flash Gordon. A wonderfully fruity voice. But I prefer to think of him as the man who produced the most deliriously odd pop album in history. Shatner is nothing compared to this guy. Look it up on YouTube. Highlights include 'The Hippie and the Skinhead' and (unbelievably, no wonder it was pulled so soon after its release) 'Rape'.

Peter Wyngarde also played #2 in the "Checkmate" episode of The Prisoner
