While we worrying, rightfully so I have a relative who still can't get to his house in Houston except in a boat- worst hit neighborhood, about hurricanes there are stirring in Zhongguo. And with the nuclear machinations in N.Korea, the apparent "problems" with our Navy, the Chinese eating up islands (and making new ones) etc. We should pay attention. The media keeps on about the Russians, not that I trust them (Russians OR the Democrat media.) but who is the, at least, potential, threat, you gweilos?
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-china-military/sweeping-change-in-chinas-military-points-to-more-firepower-for-xi-idUSKCN1BJ0U9

"Reuters reported this week that the 66-year-old Fang, who accompanied Xi to his first meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in April, is being questioned on suspicion of corruption. "

I watch some Chinese television from time to time [I just do, okay?]    It has gotten very weird and kind of scary over the
past several years,   The news is very, very focused on their own military and those around the world.  There was a training accident at Fort Bragg today with a soldier killed and several wounded in an explosion.   It made the local news here because it is just down the road from the Raleigh area but a check of Yahoo News, Drudge and CNN show nothing about it on their main pages.   It was a big story in China however, followed closely by a bit showcasing the competence of their own special forces.  The US running dog special forces blow themselves up in training but look at our boys go!

Looks like quite the mess:

Even Ol' Mex knows to try to keep the sewage in canals and to open the manhole covers at night! But sometimes they still also blow up.

The parents of those kids should just shut up and be happy that their children's organs weren't harvested for foreign oligarchs, Chinese zillionaires, and Party officials. Kidding, sorta.
If you want to get into the weeds there is a "Clinton connection*" to the company that runs those abusive childcare centers....

* "Mr. Joel A. Getz is Independent Director of the Company. Prior to that, Mr. Getz served as Director of Development for the William J. Clinton Foundation in New York and was President of the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City."

QuoteBeijing’s contribution to the ATSB-led hunt was a Chinese government survey vessel that was supposed to deploy a single AUV. But that vessel, the Dong Hai Jiu 101, hardly ever did any actual searching; as revealed by The Australian, it spent most of its nearly year-long deployment docked in Fremantle or just offshore, probably spying on Australian submarine and other military movements, according to security experts.

The Yeminis captured a US drone. Supposedly used for geological/oceanographic work though.  ;)

Clyde Lewis was ranting about this the other day:

It does seem like technology really can bring about something old authors wrote about. And, like the in US, Chinese are willing, so far, doing this because they see it as a social status and they get some "free" benefits etc. But they are taking father than, so far, the US or Europe has done, and plan to implement for everyone by 2020.

They are force to be reckoned with.  If they all don't die of cancer first.

In recent years, there have been government mandated clamp downs in the Chinese media on such things as cleavage, prostitution, homosexuality and time travel.
In December there was a re-iteration of the push against Christmas and Santa with an outright ban for Party members.   Now it is a ban on tat's and hip hop in
Chinese media.

PRAISE CHINA! Rap and hip hop is degenerate and only bring humanity down to the Negroids level. Niggers couldn't even invent the wheel the only reason other races are trying to emulate negroid rap culture is because the Jews who run the recording industry push it on young impressionable kids. I had friends that listened to coon tunes growing up and mocked them for it and now that they are older they finally seen that i was right.

They never stopped being a totalitarian regime. They just wanted to take advantage of our economy and we're told (by us) that we were heading that way, anyway. Then then same politicians told us that we're trying to get them to be more like us. What a mind fuck! ;)

Roughly?  None.  Aren't these companies the crony-capatalist globalists?

They don't give a shit about trivial things like human rights, unless it's the US government asking for their help in unlocking some terrorist's phone

"Pope Francis has decided to accept the legitimacy of seven Catholic bishops appointed by the Chinese government, a concession that the Holy See hopes will lead Beijing to recognize the pope’s authority as head of the Catholic Church in China, according to a person familiar with the plan."

I'm sure they aren't going to stop with Uighurs....

They're a human rights abusing totalitarian regime. If they can and are doing it there why wouldn't they be doing it everywhere else?  ;)

Those are great photographs.  I would love to see a detailed photo intel analysis of the images.
Some of the comments on the article are hilarious but the situation is serious. And where are the 'environmentalists' on the issue? Did Greenpeace ships try to block pouring cement on reefs?

What about the mental health of the Chinese that are stationed there?  Perhaps they can Skype with the Chinese version of Dr. Phil and get the help they need.

My Uncle Vern worked for Packard.   During the war they sent him to a little reef/atoll place like that and he stayed there
for three straight years, overhauling PT Boat engines or whatever.

My Dad said he was never quite right in the head after that...............
