QuoteOn its initial release in the UK, the film was banned by several town councils â€" some of which had no cinemas within their boundaries, or had not even seen the film.

One of Obama's BLM-types arrested. Not new "news," apparently other terrorist and nutjobs are also under investigation (with push back from Dems, of course, who if identity/politics/etc was different would be supporting far worse surveillance or arrests.)

Where do they think the word "sheriff" comes from? China? Mozambique? Mexico? Belgium? Where does our legal system mainly derive? Russia? Chad? Vietnam? What language is mainly used (in most areas?)

She should never buy tickets.  She should stand outside a theater showing the flick and lash herself, while crying out "I am not worthy!"

Or maybe she should just give herself to the Black Panthers.  As a reparations offering.

;D ;D The Black Panthers would take a look at her and say "I'll take the 40 acres and a mule."

WTF? Air Force cadets worry about 'micro-aggressions' after they are told to dress professionally? And, worse, the Air Force actually buys into that crap and apologizes?

So, they were going to give Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari and the man who basically started the video game industry a lifetime acheivement award but someone reminded them that he used to have hot tub parties with men AND women back then so uh uh. ::)

Here is an amazing review of that horrible Obama portrait. Desperation and weird references. An example, but the whole thing is funny.
"giving us a troubled, human, pure-of-heart Rock of Gibraltar seated on a hard wooden seat that hints at the bare-bones look of African tribal chairs....."
WTF? Besides the racist Rock reference (surely Obama would think it should be Spanish) what about the chair says "Africa" or "tribal?"- aside of being in a jungle, I guess?

I'll admit thinking for a brief moment that bit about the chairs too - in some African countries (in West Africa mainly iirc) historically they had these wooden chairs and stools that were the equivalent of a throne in other countries. The most famous example is probably the Ashanti golden stool, but I think the chair thing is a common motif and they incorporated non African designs after European contact.

QuoteStools and chairs were significant objects of leadership regalia and symbols of social clout.  The owners proudly display their stools for others to see and admire.  As a result it is inappropriate for one to sit in another’s stool.  In some tribes chairs are for chiefs and in others they represent political power.  For other tribes stools serve a spiritual and personal purpose.  For one tribe, the Akan of Ghana, the stool is the centre of the soul.  If a person who is not the rightful owner sits on the stool they have contaminated the soul of the owner.

Yeah, when I looked it up I saw pictures of African "tribal chairs" but they didn't really look like that one. Africa, one a grand culture, where owning a frigging rickety wood CHAIR is still a show of power.

Brisbane woman denied haircut at barber shop because of gender

QuoteA woman has lodged a complaint with the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Commission after a Brisbane barber shop refused to cut her hair because of her gender.

Vivien Houston, 33, was recently denied service at Jimmy Rod's Barber Shop in The Gap Village Shopping Centre.

"I walked in and one of the barbers at the shop stopped me and I thought she was going to say they had too many people in line and wouldn't be able to fit me in before closing, but she actually said I can't serve you because you're a woman," Ms Houston said. "I thought she was kidding. She said 'No, we signed a lease with centre management that says we're not able to cut women's hair' and the reason for that is that they don't want Jimmy Rod's Barbershop to cause competing business for the hair dressing salons in the centre."

Ms Houston said she had been going to the store in The Gap for two years, and was surprised and angered when she was turned away.

"I can't believe this. I also thought it was just nonsense because I wouldn't go to the hair-dressing salons in the centre anyway," she said.

"I want to use a barber shop, because that's the style of haircut I have.

"If we allow people to apply discrimination, even in the most smallest sense such as getting your haircut which seems trivial, we essentially breed more discrimination."
Ms Houston said she tried to contact the centre management to make a formal complaint but said their response was unsatisfactory.

Probably told her that it was because of a business arrangement and to use one of the other hairdressers in the shopping centre - i.e. piss off and stop fishing for a payout.

Quote
Jimmy Rod's managing director James O'Brien confirmed women were not able to have haircuts at their shop in The Gap due to a lease agreement.

"We are exclusively only to cut men's hair due to three other hairdressers being in the centre, and if we do cut women's hair there, we will be breached and it could cause our lease to get cancelled," he said.

"Unfortunately I can't negotiate. That's the centre's rules. In all our other stores â€" we have 13 shops â€" we cut women's hair. Mr O'Brien said he would seek legal advice.

"What am I supposed to do, cut her hair and get breached and not have a business? My hands are tied, I can't do it."

"My name's going to get thrown in the paper for discrimination when it's not even my rule. That's an absolute joke if you ask me," he said. "She could have gone to any other Jimmy Rod's store. We don't discriminate â€" money's money.
"I'm going to be called a sexist in one way or I'll get a breach on my lease the other way. So my hands are quite tied at the moment."

She probably could get such a butch haircut at any place that does hair.  ::)
