I never heard that one about the one-baller but did, with much unfortunate documentation, about Chuck Berry, RIP. Goes to show you, I guess, that one must separate the person from their product? Or not? I don't know. Some really good works were done but outright bad people or, at least, those with some weird fetishes or crimes. Hollywood is build on them.

That reminds me of a story I read in some recent book written by this elderly homosexual bartender in Hollywood.  He alleged all sort of outrageous things about Golden Age Hollywood Stars like Tyrone Power, Walter Pidgeon, Katharine Hepburn, Spencer Tracy, Errol Flynn and many others.  Of course, most of the stuff, documented in other bios, written about Flynn was true but not some of the shit this guy alleged.  He said Flynn was bi and liked men too.  I find that hard to believe. He was caught too many times engaging in sex with women some young that he surely would have been caught at least once if he liked men too.  However, the most outrageous claim he made was about Charles Laughton and his love for shit sandwiches.  That put a bad taste in my mouth lol and I stopped reading said book after that.

"Now is not the time to Rally."

Cedar Rapids Iowa Gazette
Front-page open letter to Trump:

http://www.thegazette.com/subject/opinion/an-open-letter-to-president-donald-trump-upon-his-return-to-cedar-rapids-20170620

"It’s always a big deal when a president comes to town. But we couldn’t help but notice the main event of your trip today is a campaign rally. We’re glad you’re also making a stop to tour Kirkwood Community College, an outstanding educational and economic development asset in our region.

Mr. President, the campaign is over. You won. Now is not the time to rally. Now is the time to sell your policies, listen to Americans with a stake in those efforts and govern.

Iowans have questions and concerns about your plans. They can’t be heard over the cheers of a rally.

Iowa farmers are concerned about how your efforts to rewrite trade agreements will affect valuable overseas markets for Iowa’s bounty. Your budget blueprint includes cuts in crop insurance and other programs our producers depend upon, especially now in tough times. They’re also worried about cuts to science agencies that approve new crop developments and responses to pests and disease.

Cedar Rapids still is waiting to hear whether the federal government will deliver on its promise to help pay for flood protection in the heart of the city. We hope you’ll let us know how you plan to address the issue and end our wait. And although we understand addressing climate change is not among your priorities, we will point out that the more frequent heavy rains it spawns have brought major flooding to this city twice in eight years. Preparing for the worst is a priority here, not a hoax.

Just a short chat with local leaders clearly would show the project’s importance.

We understand your strong desire to save America’s coal industry. But here in Iowa, we’re already generating a large percentage of our power through alternative energy sources. We’re a state that benefits from economic opportunities sparked by producing energy from the wind, the sun and the crops we grow. Maybe you’ll see a wind farm or two as you fly in today.

More than 70,000 Iowans face losing health insurance obtained through the Affordable Care Act as uncertainty, indecision and partisan politics roil the health care system. You promised a “terrific” Obamacare replacement, but we haven’t seen anything resembling a terrific plan. There are fears of deep cuts to Medicaid funding for states such as Iowa, jeopardizing care for thousands more. Your appointee to run the Medicare and Medicaid system is the same consultant who advised Iowa to swiftly privatize its Medicaid program, spawning confusion and consternation for patients and providers.

We’ve read troubling reports indicating your attorney general may seek to prosecute medical marijuana providers and users in states where its legal. That’s very bad news for suffering Iowans and their families who have been lobbying hard at the Statehouse for years to gain access to medical cannabis. You really should sit down with some of those Iowans and hear their stories.

As Iowa struggles to afford its state investments in public schools, human services, the justice system and many other services used by Iowans every day, your proposed budget would make the situation worse. An analysis by the non-partisan Legislative Services Agency shows it would cut $100 million in various federal grants for state efforts aimed at improving classroom technology, cleaning up water, providing affordable housing and supporting job training. Your budget plan, according to the Center on Budget Policy and Priorities, would force Iowa to pay $884 million more to provide food assistance to low income families over the next decade.

We hope you have time to speak with some of the state and local leaders who would have to deal with the deep and real impacts of such reductions.

That’s a lot of ground to cover while you’re on the ground in Iowa. But we think it’s critical you understand the real world implications of these and many other policies your administration is proposing.

We concede it’s not as much fun as hearing the cheers and chants of folks convinced you’re making America great again. But it’s what Presidents do."

Berock Obama spent eight years campaigning.  Most of those trips were really private getaways, golf trips, and fundraisers, but in order to stick the citizens with the travel bill and have them pay for security while collecting the loot from his rich benefactors he would give a speech hold a rally and call it official business.

Does anyone ever recall any of these dumb cluck posters complaining about that?  Does anyone recall any newspaper complaining about it when he came to their area?  In fact if this newspaper believes Trump should be governing, and not speaking at a rally, have they suggested the Democrats and the rest of the 'Rats to stop lying and attacking him so he can focus on the duties of his office?  We know the answers to all these questions.

By the way, despite all the garbage he's had to deal with, Trump has done more to benefit the country in five months than Obama did in those eight years.

So, you know, fuck off, dipshit

City of Boston posts data that disappeared from EPA’s website

https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2017/06/18/city-boston-posts-data-that-disappeared-from-epa-website/yBHOoEaJwxZ0cw8ir4y8XN/story.html

The Boston Globe
GLOBE STAFF  JUNE 18, 2017

Soon after President Trump took office, the Environmental Protection Agency began removing links on its website to data that reflected years of research into the causes of climate change.

Now, Boston and many other cities are returning the information to the public sphere through municipal websites, part of a revolt against Trump’s efforts to overturn policies designed to curb the greenhouse gases causing the planet to warm.

“We want to make sure that there’s access to the decades-long research that used to be readily accessible on the EPA’s website,” said Austin Blackmon, the city’s environmental chief. “It’s a critical resource for many people.”

The new site, climatechangedata.boston.gov, reflects the city’s increasingly active response to Trump’s approach to climate change. . . .  http://climatechangedata.boston.gov

RIGHT-WING and ‘RADICAL ISLAMIC’ TERROR in the U.S. are EQUALLY SERIOUS THREATS

http://www.newsweek.com/right-wing-terrorism-us-has-been-constant-threat-adl-report-exclusive-612492

"They wanted to “wake people up.” Three men from a small militia group called The Crusaders gathered a stockpile of firearms, ammunition and explosives last year and plotted to load up four vehicles with bombs. Their target was a sprawling apartment complex in Garden City, Kansas, where many Somali immigrants live and pray. The militia members referred to Muslims as “cockroaches,” and wanted to kill the men, women and children who called the complex home in a large explosion.

“The only good Muslim is a dead Muslim,” one of the men had told the others. They were arrested in October before the attack could be carried out.

The incident in Garden City is just one of 150 plots and attacks compiled in "A Dark and Constant Rage: 25 Years of Right-Wing Terrorism in the United States”, a new report from the Anti-Defamation League provided in advance exclusively to Newsweek. It makes clear that even as political rhetoric and public discourse focus on what the ADL report calls “radical Islamic terror,” there is a steady stream of violence carried out by right-wing extremists.

“The very real specter of radical Islamic terror in the United States has existed alongside an equally serious threat of terror from right-wing extremist groups and individuals,” the report says, attributing the lower awareness in part to events that take place outside of large urban centers and often draw less, or less sustained, media coverage. “Both movements have generated shooting sprees, bombings, and a wide variety of plots and conspiracies. Both pose threats so significant that to ignore either would be to invite tragedy.”

White supremacistsâ€"such as neo-Nazis, Klansmen and racist skinheadsâ€"and anti-government extremistsâ€"which include militia groups, sovereign citizens and tax protestersâ€"have for decades targeted local, state and national government branches and law enforcement, as well as African-Americans, Hispanics, multiracial couples and families, religious groups such as Jews and Muslims and other targets, the report states.

Together, white supremacists and right-wing anti-government extremists account for 85 percent of the plots identified on ADL’s list of right-wing terrorism incidents. The remainder can be attributed to anti-abortion, anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant and other extremists. Firearms and explosives were the most common weapons of choice in these attacks, which in total have left 255 people dead and more than 600 others injured. . . .

The reason no one complained is that it's absolutely not true. But I can see how you would perceive it that way.

Trying to rewrite the history of a failed presidency didn't really work out for Carter.  He had to let a few decades pass, and go hammer a few nails for the cameras.

I have a soft spot for Jimmy.  He was a terrible President but I think a decent human being.

CNN is whining as usual over nothing because the White House today told the media no cameras or video during the press briefing. Audio only. CNN doesn't know what to do with itself so they aren't covering any of it. Instead opting for as usual, to provide unsubstantiated opinions based on unidentified sources. Perhaps they could just play the audio of the presser with a nice imagine of Trump.
