Oh, my mistake.  Apologies all around.
My sarcasm meter detected snark.  I'll have to have this thing checked out...

No worries, General. There can be a considerable amount of atmospheric interference around here...at times.

It's likely sun spots.  I'm lining my hat with tinfoil.  That should help.

Death toll update 932... tick tock tick tock.

That's horrible for their families and anyone who has to live in those regions, but here's some perspective:

http://www.worldometers.info/

17 000 people died of hunger so far today.

That's what the government keeps tellin meh.

Oh I don't rely on the government; I usually look to actual figures, geography, notifiable outbreak and statistical probability of actually being infected. So far? Big fat zero...

Well, on a lighter note, as Ebola deaths climb, this number will drop.

I dunno, I don't think I could get hungry enough to eat a bowl of ebola soup.

Give it time. The number of deaths in one day jumped to 45. Let's see where It stands tomorrow and thereafter. I'll keep the updates coming, not for fear, but just for the raw numbers as they are deliberated. The first day the number subsides I'll be able to sit back and take a sigh of relief.

Ebola does sound scary.
Bringing someone known to be infected with ebola into the USA is eyebrow raising.
So far less than 1000 people have died from this outbreak in total.
Dying bleeding from every orifice is a real grotesque headline grabber.

What doesn't grab headlines is dying from chills, rigors, and high fevers followed by profuse sweating, which occur at regular intervals of 48 to 72 hours. Almost 3,000 African children die EACH DAY from malaria. Malaria could very well visit the USA again. On the backs of those border crossing characters, insects. That raises my eyebrows too.

I'll return y'all to your zombie apocalypse now.

There`s no money in producing vaccines.

From Forbes.com

http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidkroll/2014/08/05/ebola-secret-serum-small-biopharma-the-army-and-big-tobacco/

As with other companies working on small molecules and biologicals against Ebola and other hemorrhagic fever viruses, MappBio was the beneficiary of grants and contracts from federal agencies that include the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID), the Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects (DARPA), and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).

That's where the money is.

Death toll 1,145 by official count only.
W.H.O announced Friday. But the organization has also warned that the actual number is almost certainly higher, perhaps by a very considerable margin

here's the snippit from the NYT article.

The situation “is moving faster and deteriorating faster than we can respond,” Dr. Liu told reporters in Geneva after returning a day earlier from a tour of the affected nations.

The epidemic’s front line “is moving, it’s advancing, but we have no clue how it’s going to go around,” Dr. Liu said. “Over the next six months we should get the upper hand on the epidemic,” she added, but this was only a “gut feeling” and it would happen only if sufficient resources were put in place.

Many deaths have occurred within local communities, not at health centers, and the known deaths are “likely the tip of the iceberg,” Dr. Liu said. “We are still having increasing numbers in most of the sites where we work.”

Right now this epidemic is confined to the land of AIDS, starving people, and pirates.  A land that is a drag on the world's compassion and has not produced one single cool mobile device.  Until and unless it migrates to Europe, no serious action will be mobilized.

Things took a similar course during the early days of the AIDS epidemic.  As long as the general population was not affected, it was god punishing fags, and while people would opine that they hoped for a cure, they also hoped that it wasn't discovered too soon.

A man removes a child from the Ebola holding facility in West Point

The locals destroyed a Ebola Center, begging those inside to leave before hand.

The locals were saying "Ebola is a hoax"

And part of the story below.

They ransacked the protective suits, the goggles, the masks. They destroyed part of Tarplah’s car as he was fleeing the crowd.
Jemimah Kargbo, a health care worker at a clinic next door, said they took mattresses and bedding, utensils and plastic chairs.
“Everybody left with their own thing,” she said. “What are they carrying to their homes? They are carrying their deaths.”
She said the police showed up but the crowd intimidated them.
“The police were there but they couldn’t contain them. They started threatening the police, so the police just looked at them,” she said.
And then mob left with all of the patients.
“They said, ‘The president says you have Ebola, but you don’t have Ebola, you have malaria. Get up and go out!’” Kargbo said.

Looks like that number is getting ready to rise even faster. Nurses no longer want to work in the clinics, and the doctors are receiving death threats.

Whatever it is, Alex Jones pushing the whole conspiracy certainly is making it's rounds to Africa.
I suspect it's a combination of a lot of things too, but regardless, Alex needs to realize he's treading on fire when a lot of doctors and nurses are being attacked after mobs getting wind of a western conspiracy for population control.

I won't dignify that twat with a first name other than arsehole. If his bullshit is directly responsible for murder, non-containment of the virus and it's spreading, he and his ilk should be allowed the privilege of going to Liberia and having some one to ones with those who 'only' have malaria. He won't object I'm sure, after all, it's all a myth.

At some point we need to step in and just lock all of those countries - maybe all of Africa - down until the disease is in control. If they want to behave with a prehistoric, superstitious recklessness which endangers the rest of the world - including those who risk their lives to help them - then no one should get in or out until the disease burns itself out.

Time to shit your pants

I loled.

I loled long and hard.

"You'really not nearly frightened enough of Ebola!!! Zomgzomg!!!!"

People need to calm their tits and stop acting like hysterical wimmins.

I would NOT like to be in a REAL tricky situation with those pansies... you'd be better ditching them and just going it alone.

We weren'r nearly scared enough of avian flu, pig flu, H1N1, or the watery shits either... and we all died of that too.

...oh wait.

The two US aid workers infected with the Ebola virus in Liberia have recovered and have been discharged from hospital, medical officials have said.

Dr Kent Brantly, 33, thanked supporters for their prayers at a news conference in Atlanta. Nancy Writebol, 59, was discharged on Tuesday.

The two were brought to the US for treatment three weeks ago.

Or they could have been left to die I suppose?

You're right.
Let's bring every infected soul to America.
It's worth the risk, right?

Who said anything about every infected soul? You were against two American medics being admitted to a specialised isolation unit that is set up specifically to deal with such infections. The risk was to them, not you. They had far more chance of dying than you ever did, but you were willing to let them die in Africa because you're selfish and as long as you're alright jack, you're a very happy bunny.

I'm still against it.
