Thanks for the update. His HH is one of the few radio shows that I actually pay attention when listening, rather than "multi-tasking" or background noise (Norry's version of C2C, for example, I'm usually mowing or working in the garage.) Dan's HH is great and interesting stuff.

Same here.  Especially with a great topic like the Celts..........

Good news everyone!

Yeah, I've been so starved for new DC that I began listening to his Common Sense shows. Which are actually interesting, so it's not a bad deal.

He was on Rubin Report a while ago. Pretty good interview.

Pretty darn interesting little bit of content he posted, there.

My only concern, as Dan mentioned in that piece, is that his tendency to "go deep" might start to creep in and expand future episodes- thus expanding the time between releases. Kinda like what happened with Blitz editions.

Still, we'll see what happens. I think he'll make a new commitment to more regular short stuff if this is well received.

Hardcore History. I love it! History told through a series of historical porn parodies. What a great idea!  :D

If you search for "Hardcore History Addendum" you will find a couple of new Dan Carlin episodes. Haven't listened to them yet. Not sure how they fit into his overall strategy.

cweb

Addendum is what he was initially trying to do with Blitz editions. (And if you go back far enough, what he was trying to do with HH in the first place.)

But Dan likes context. And so do we. Hopefully the third time is the charm for having some quick HH content in between the epics.

The first one, comparing the German WWI and WWII armies, was great. The second one, more Roman-centered, was pretty good. I'm obviously less partial to the Roman history.

Pain?   Didn't expect that!

I haven’t listened yet but he does have a lot of warnings on his website and twitter feed.

I'm going for it right now.  Looks like Ghost from True Capitalist Radio is playing hooky tonight and I've got a bunch of
boring-ass code to write.

Thanks! "Got it," I love HH, gets into details and told with passion and humor.

Jeepers.

This episode is definitely pretty Hardcore this time around.  Carlin jumps right into it with a dude being
drawn and quartered by an inexperienced bungling, team of executioners.

cweb

It was certainly a cringer at times, though I was far more disturbed by the WWI episodes for some reason.

Hope he sticks with the Addendum shows too. It seems he's starting to fit them into categories (Epics, Blitz, Addendum) to mix it up a bit.

I get all sorts of ideas for historic movies that'd be foolers.

One would be titled The First World War.  It'd open with the events concerning Jumonville's death, and be shot in such a way as to make it hard for the audience to tell the period.  Then there'd be some excuse to ask a combatant his name, & he'd answer, "Washington, George Washington" (evoking both the funny YouTube & James Bond).  Only then would it become apparent that the movie was about the 7 Years' War.  The music under the opening credits would be...

...because of its resemblance to...

And yadda, yadda, yadda.
