Did anyone hear RCH's phone ring tonight? I heard the phone being off the hook, but did not hear it ring... and it's not made a great start to my day!
It's almost 9am for me and no RCH ringing phone... bah:/

Serious debate regarding the politics behind a supposed nuclear war that happened half a billion years ago on a different planet. Only on the Other Side of Midnight.

;D

Funny funny and so true!

haha - thanks for the giggle!

There is a guy called: Nick Bostrom ( http://www.nickbostrom.com/). He is a professor on Faculty of Philosophy & Oxford Martin School
Director, Future of Humanity Institute;
Director, Oxford Martin Programme on the Impacts of Future Technology
University of Oxford

He did a radio lecture on extraterrestrial life and the Fermi Paradox, commissioned for the BBC Radio 3 (aired on 19 July 2007 - which you can see the pdf of here:
http://www.nickbostrom.com/papers/fermi.pdf.

He wrote an article in MIT Technology Review (May/June Issue 2008) which can be found here:
http://www.nickbostrom.com/extraterrestrial.pdf.WHY I HOPE THE SEARCH FOR EXTRATERRESTRIAL LIFE FINDS NOTHING
I stumbled across him when I was doing a search for something else and the aforementioned article piqued my interest enough in which to read.

I am not sure if he has been interviewed by someone from the Paranormal community. I'm not even sure if he would do one either. But what I do know, is that if Art could invite Nick Bostrom onto the show...it would certainly be a night of cerebral bliss. XD
Certainly a lot of food for thought there!

Kind Regards, ya'll!

Good morning:)

Just flipped on my recording of the playback and happily sitting here listening with my decaf butter cream coffee.

;D

Listening to Art in the morning is wonderful - it's a great time to be alive!

On the spot Open Lines was very entertaining! If Stephen Bassett had been on the air, then we all would have missed the TT'ing son on Mars caller... which I thought was pure Art Bell Classic - thank you, Art for giving the guy another chance!

The paranormal news is included in the playback and I'm very happy about that:)

So, Art and Keith...wherever you are, thank you very much:)
And yes, I'm a Time Traveler again with no intention of leaving - ever-:)

It's not often in this world when one or just a few people that complain about something actually get heard and are given what they wanted.
That to me is worth the $5 or £3.41 a month.
Looking forward to tomorrow morning to hear tonight's show - gonna make my coffee taste sooo much better!

Yay:)

Was looking forward to listening to Open Lines when I woke up Saturday morning; however, my recording setup had failed. I had the time set up perfectly, just forgot to turn it on. So, all day yesterday, I spent trying to convince myself 'It's just open lines....no guests..you can go without Art for two mornings....' I spent part of the day yesterday, lurking this thread to try to catch up on what I could have possibly missed, because if it was unforgettable, the chance of ya'll posting about it is highly likely.

Today, I woke up with withdrawal symptoms, even my southern pecan flavored coffee didn't taste the same because I had no morning Art to listen to whilst drinking it...like I have been all week.

I sit here right at this moment, listening to Friday's Open Lines. With the paranormal news now being included in the playback...there was no reason of principle which prevents me from becoming a Time Traveler again. I wanted the paranormal news included in the playback and it's now in the playback.

Now I can proudly share my avatar pic made in full complete honesty, for once again history repeats itself and a Time Traveler again am I.

Also, I can still record for my personal collection utterly guilt free.

Being kind to oneself is priceless ;D

I flamed you really? Tell me where I did more give my opinion on your comment. Also why do I have no right to respond to it? This is a public forum so you had to know someone would respond, if you weren't ready for a negative response than you shouldn't have shared it. Seriously you gotta have tough skin for the internet and I never once insulted you personally. Also half of my comments were to Azzerae anyway so your overreacting. Go to any other internet forum if you want to see what flaming is.

This is great stuff! I have had a really awful day and to come back here and to read your responses, has really made me see that my problems are nothing compared to what you must be going through in your life that you have to do a energizer bunny rant-a-thon about something which has been sorted.

But to see your words show how much I have affected you, man... look it is just the Internet - the real world is full of real problems - step away from the keyboard and -go live your life!- :)

Kind Regards :)

I had never heard this guest before and regardless of whether he was 'good' or 'not good' - I really enjoyed listening to something and someone different. If Art hadn't been interviewing this guy then I admit, I would have a different viewpoint. But as Art did interview him, it made it all much more enjoyable:)

Thanks, Art! :)

First I don't think you understand the definition of personal attacks. I never said anything personal about you, simply explained why I thought your complaints were ridiculous. I never called you stupid, insulted your family or anything malicious or uncalled for. Calling your reasons why you quit after 24 hours petty is the closest I came to anything like that.

Almost everyone else on here agreed that quitting after a mere 24 hours was lame so I don't see why your concentrating on my comments. Did you really think people in an Art Bell forum would be cool with that?

I also did state that you could do whatever you wanted with your money then told you my opinion about it. This is a forum, if you didn't want other peoples opinions than why post here? Especially when your opinion is quitting on Arts archives after a day.

If you really think someone who disagrees with you gains bad Karma than I suggest your definition of karma isn't right.

btw now that you have the news that you wanted, are you going to subscribe again? Just wondering I am not attacking you but that was your reasoning.

After your flaming... you don't deserve to know anything else I may or may not do.
Now is that petty? You may think so. However, do I care? Nope.

To the person that had mentioned using streamwriter  - thanks for the tip - it works awesome!

Kind Regards:)

Well thanks for the love.  8)

None of the issues I have with the archive are a big deal. Art also added the paranormal news so they are listening to our feedback, no matter how petty I think the complaints might be. As long as we are all subscribers paying and supporting the show we can be petty on a forum because that's what forums are all about. And I guess things that I think are petty are not so petty to others.
I just hate the people who rage quit over the archives without even giving it a chance. I don't think they can complain since they left ship so soon. Even if nothing happens I will be fine with the archives.

What is more 'petty'?

1. Someone exercising their right to express themselves based on their own principle.

or

2. Someone from the Internet on a forum complaining about what someone else chooses to do with their own $5 based on their principles.

dun-dun-dun!

;D

Guess what, Dark Matter news is now on the podcasts, Art listened to the feedback and now its there. All you have to do was wait and give him a chance but no three days was just too long for you.

I am sorry that this whole instance has upset you so much that you have to be a total jackanape about it. The personal attacks are not needed but I suppose you just can't help yourself. And that is unfortunate.

Thank you for the information. I am sure that many others will be utterly delighted at this wonderful -news-. XD

And for your information, I didn't wait three days before I cancelled. I signed up and cancelled within the space of 24 hours and I didn't even ask for a refund yet, I still got a refund, which exceeded my customer expectations:)

We all have very busy lives and it seems that you too, are very busy in spreading your worldly and informed knowledge across the span of the Internet. So, in saying that, let me give you a insightful tip to further you along your Internet journey:

Karma will always find you and give you back what you've given to others. :)

You have a glorious day, sunshine!

Kind Regards :)

Well for all we know, Art may very well walking away from all of this by the end of 6 weeks - that is what happened last time right?

Art stopped working with Sirrus based on his principle.
I have a right to my own principle.

But having three segments to download one show, that is very old skool.
It's 2015 not 1996.

Granted this might not be "legal" or "encouraged" officially but if it is for personal use only, I think ok morally- especially if you have donated some money or have become a Time Traveler- why don't you simply record the live stream onto your phone or computer? Than you have the archived show with music and the paranormal news.

My husband is teaching me how to do that - thank goodness I married an IT guy - free tech support for life! :)

If it works for me, then I'll resubscribe, pay someone else for something I've done myself - haha.

If Art and Redacted didn't say so much about the paranormal news at the bottom of the hour during their interview, then I would be happy and still a Time Traveler, as I wouldn't have been none the wiser really.

Everyone is different. We all have different perceptions.
I try to enjoy the paranormality of my meager earth-plane existence without having to forego anymore of my morality or ethical standards.

I still enjoy Art, just not going to pay for it until they figure out what they are excatly what they are going to do for paying subbers.

I never heard anyone hyping it. It shouldn't be a given that part of the news commercial is part of the show. Saying hey cool paranormal news! My audience is going to like that as they sit through commercial's (I'm assuming that's how the discussion went) doesn't mean you should assume they are in the archives. I care more about the show than random news segments and don't want any commercials in my MITD archive.

Your also pretending commercials are more content that we are getting robbed of when most are just annoying crap.

Just because you didn't hear anyone hyping it, doesn't mean that it does not exist or never existed.
Here is the evidence which backs up everything I have said.

Your complaints don't make sense. Well, they do make sense but they have already been explained. The music is a copyright issue which is why there are abrupt cuts before and after the breaks. What else is wrong with the audio quality? I found the quality in the audio to be very good, please explain what is wrong with it?

Asadora your complaint makes even less sense. paranormal news is during commercial breaks, why should I pay for something with commercial breaks in it?  If I'm paying 5 dollars a month I expect there to be no bloody commercials. What you get for 5 dollars is every show that month. If you don't pay you can not listen at your leisure, whats so hard to understand?

So, I'm guessing you are one of the people that don't pay and can listen to the live show in it's entirety for free while live? And so you are having a go at me, because I'm not paying for -your- free entirety of a show for you to be able to listen to it live for free?

Why would I want to pay for something that other people can enjoy in it's entirety when as a paying person I don't get the same content?
Now that is what really makes even less sense!
haha.

And anyway you are complaining about complaining, so get off your high horse please..oh wait, let me help you, but it will cost you five bucks.

I just wanted to say that after checking my email this morning I actually got a refund of my $5 and I didn't ask for one - so that is a positive.
Had it been known before that the paranormal news wouldn't be included in the playback, then I wouldn't have signed up in the first place for the reasons I stated previously.

If Art and Redacted didn't hype up the paranormal news at the bottom of the hour when she interviewed him, then things might be different for me in this instance.
But because they did hype it up which got me to sign up in the first place and then find out that when you pay you don't get the news afterall.... it's... an injustice and false advertising.

If they sort out making the paranormal news worth the 'time and space' into the playbacks, then I would def subscribe again.

It's not just you.  I refuse to pay for a service that provides less content than I can get for free just by listening to the live show.  If I am paying for a show I want the entire show, not an edited version.  I understand why they can't include the music but cutting anything else is ridiculous. If they want to discourage piracy providing paying customers with an inferior experience is not the way to do it.  Also, if Keith seriously considers the paranormal news segment to be a "waste of time and space" why is it even being broadcast in the first place?  That's time and space that Art could be using to take one more call or ask one more question.

Yes - we are in agreement here.

Also, if the show has only just started and Keith is already complaining about wasting 'time and space' then how are things going to be regarding 'time and space' after a month of shows?
Why should I pay for something of which I can get the exact same thing with no paranormal news at the bottom of the hour elsewhere on the Internet?

Is this a conspiracy? (jk!)

It should not make a difference as to which country you are in in order to download. In theory it should not make a difference.

Oh, come on!. $5 isn't much to support Art. The paranormal news is cool but that is no reason to cancel.

All in or nothing - I'm sure Art would understand, right? It's the principle of the thing for me and Keith's customer service was appalling. I don't want to pay for a service where the customer service is poor.

That's just me.

After I cancelled my Time Traveler subscription yesterday upon realising that the paranormal news isn't included in the playback - I was sent a refund of my $5 back.
Though, it still doesn't make it fair for the people that pay don't get all the show, whereas the people that don't pay do.

I'll have to hope someone swashbuckles the program so I could -then- listen to the paranormal news. I would glady pay to hear the paranormal news as well, but as Keith said, 'it's a waste of time and space'. So I don't see the paranormal news being included in the playback anytime soon.

So, at least I got a refund of which I wasn't expecting, that's a positive from this.

Yeah, sometimes the way something is worded makes all the difference. I'd continue to ask for it to be included. You never know, if enough people want it, maybe they'll change their minds.

I already cancelled my subscription.
Either all or nothing, I'm sure Art would totally understand that - haha.

For the rest of ya'll that can listen live which does include the paranormal news, you are fortunate!

;)

I think they're taking the longer view, down the road a few months or even years when the mention of something like a flyby of Pluto would be very, very stale. Art knows very well he's got shows circulating out there from the early nineties, which makes it seem like this was an idea that was discussed and rejected. It's about 5 minutes out of the show, I think? You're still getting a full show of Art interviewing his guest. Maybe eventually he'll change his mind and put it in if enough people want it.

I think in this instance from my perspective the message could have been worded better.
Just because it's the Internet doesn't mean good customer communications wastes time nor space either - despite whatever realm it is.

Oh well. That's just me.

Am  i the only one who's had trouble getting the 2nd and 3rd segment of this show?   ???

Hour 1 played all the way through fine for me. But hour 2 and 3 I had to reload a couple of times from the start in order to listen to the whole... 'hour'
Well, 40 mins... as there is no paranormal news included.

How.. can it be a waste... Rosewell happened years ago and people are still talking about that... and even adding new spins on the whole thing....
Paranormal news is never a waste of time nor space.

Goodness me.

Sorry for the mini-rant... it just happened:/
