VEGANS.

They annoy me.  I cook for a living.  I am tired of trying to create food that tastes like other food because people don't want to eat food but yet want food.  Make sense?  :D  "I want a steak. Can you make something that tastes like that but isn't meat?"  Well, that means you want to eat steak. Duh!?

I could go on...but won't.  :-X

I went to a ceremony in a temple in China once - not only did everything taste like different meats (sorta, almost), it all looked like it too.  I think it was flavored soy / tofu.  After about half a plate when the novelty wore off though...

The DH led to baseball's destruction.

That is exactly it.

There used to be a rhythm to the lineup for the pitcher

- leadoff batter - speedy, not a long ball hitter, don't let him get on, nothing but strikes
- 2nd guy - good contact hitter, not a long ball hitter, low strikes  - get him to hit it on the ground
- 3rd - best overall hitter, be careful, don't walk him though - the cleanup batter is next
- cleanup - long ball hitter, strikes out a lot, nothing good to hit, esp with first base open
- 5th - dangerous, strikes out a lot, put him on if first is open and there are runners on
- 6th, 7th, 8th hitters - usually not so good, can relax a little and pitch to their weaknesses.  The #8 may be a base stealer lead off type too, so don't let him on.  Try to get these guys so the pitcher comes up in the next inning - don't let them 'flip' the lineup by getting the pitcher to make the third out in this one
- 9th - pitcher - he was probably the best hitter on his HS and college teams, but didn't develope after that.  Nothing but fastball strikes

Top of the order, time to bear down again.

With the DH it's all just mostly lumbering big guys, long ball hitters, no break for the pitcher, no sense of rhythem, just go up and swing hard at everything.  Sucks.

Used to be a big baseball fan, but gave up the year they cancelled the pennant race and World Series, then never got back into it in the subsequent years of sterioids and too many long boring games with scores like 15-3.

So I tune in to watch game 7 of the Giants and Cardinals the other night.  Every single batter steps out of the batters box after every single pitch, then when the pitcher gets the ball back he's standing there holding it and looking around for awhile before he decides to finally pitch it.

OMFG that was excruciating for the short time I watched.  Is this normal now - does anyone just stand in the batters box and wait for the next pitch?  Do any pitchers get the ball back, get the catchers sign, and just throw the fucking thing already anymore?

No wonder the games take so long now.  The unpires have the prerogative to not give 'time' to the batter to step out once he's in the batters box.  I think they also can call a 'ball' on the pitcher if he's just standing there and not pitching it for no reason.  They need to start doing so.  I guess I'll check in with them in another 20 years to see what's up.

It's not easy engineering simultaneous inflation (food, energy, anything imported, etc) and deflation (salaries and assets like farms and houses now, stocks and bonds later, etc), but that's what we've got.  Both will get very much worse.

I say we renege on all debt and govt promises (entitlements and pensions) now, eliminate most of the govt agencies and cut most of the rest - lay off those affected bureaucrats - pay out SS, Med and Govt pensions using means testing so people wont starve, and move on.

How many kids does the Dept of Education educate?  How much energy does the Dept of Energy produce?  Why is Dept of Veteram Affairs not part of the Pentagon?  Why is HHS and HUD national instead of local - any reundencies there?  Why do we still need Fed Depts of Labor, Agriculture, Transportation - the few essentials they provide can be wrapped up into smaller agencies?

Or we could do nothing different and have it done later the hard way for us, but it will happen either way.

This show is a real snorefest tonight, ain't it. Where did we find this old gasbag, anyway? I know you losers just listen to the show to hear me say stupid stuff and mispronounce words that an 8th grader would know but I'm doin' purty good tonight. Not talkin' much is the secret.

Don't forget how much George enjoys demonstrating his ignorance of phrases and common sayings.

My personal favorite was when he was using the term 'to coin a phrase' as if it meant to repeat a common expression he was familiar with - he used it that way several times over a 2 or 3 week period.  I think George heard 'coin' and immediately thought 'take' or 'borrow'.

I agree with it.  I would vote for the Obama we saw tonight.  Unfortunately, not much of what he said was recognizable to someone paying the slightest bit of attention over the past 4 years.

It's as if Obama decided - for this debate - to find out what he should be doing on Foreign Affairs, what he should have been doing all along, what would actually make sense, what regular Americans would want to hear, then claim that as his policy.   It wasn't a coincidence Romney was left to agree wih Obama much of the time.

It's too bad they didn't have a remote on Rev Wright or some of Obama's other Leftist friends watching from their rat-holes - that might have been fun.  But it was pure baloney - if Obama gets re-elected, we'll going right back to the same drift and weakness.

You cannot be serious.

Now that the biased left-wing media is pretty much understood by everyone to be... biased and left-wing, it wouldn't shock me to find some have just moved to the next level as 'fact checkers'.  They are not going to give up their dominating influence easily.

For example, where are they on these biased debate 'moderators' (Dem-erators) that seem to have colluded with Obama beforehand?  I wouldn't mind seeing a comparison of exposed Obama lies on the campaign trail vs Romney, and not just total numbers - level of importance.

One way to fool them would be to claim to be a big fan of the show.  They seem susceptable to that.

George is so full of it.  Sounds like another one of his attempts to sound like a good guy to me.  He's never come across as particularly sympathetic when a caller with a sob-story gets through.

I swear, he sounds like he comes up with this stuff driving to work, puts his big plan out there on a show or two, then forgets about it completely.  Whatever happened with having his audience collectively lose a million pounds or whatever it was?   Or his Hawaii studio?  Or doing the show remotely from, you name it - Skinwalker Ranch, the Pyramids, the Coral Castle in Florida?   Or running for President, or how about the Ouija Board show?

My personal favorite was him working out on his knuckleball so he could try out for the St Louis Cardinals - that was early on, so he must have been in his mid-50s at the time.

The one thing I wish he'd stick to is leaving the show after 2012.

Nah those figures are credible. Just like the millions of alien abductees  :o

After Loretta Sanchez stole the election for B-1 Bob's House seat with votes from illegal aliens and non-citizen voters (primarily Mexican, this is the LA area), when we had a Democrat House candidate in the San Diego area some years back caught on video telling a group of non-citizen Mexicans it's ok for them to go out and vote for her, when we have La Raza (remember them?) telling Mexicans this is really their country and they have every right to vote whether they are citizens or not - yeah, I think it's either a problem, or a potential one.

I think one of the reasons the Ds keep insisting Bush 'stole' the election from Gore - even though that's been completely disproven - is to numb people to it, and if and when they get caught people will just shrug, say it's old news, and that everyone does it.  It worked for them when the Al Franken and Wash State Gov elections were later stolen - everyone just shrugged and moved on.  Now we're not supposed to worry about it happening again - and if we do it's because it's somehow racially motovated.

I wish this were not Knapps baby, but I think it was...

To me, Knapp has a long history of dubious guests.  And a very short history of worth-while shows.  Maybe that's changed in the past several years - I finally gave up and completely quit listening quite awhile ago.  Remember the shows he's done with the Raelian Cult?  They are based in Vegas too.  He's done a few too many shows featuring obviously mentally ill people talking about a variety of things - the one that really stands out is the lady claiming to have been a CIA sex slave for decades and forced to have sex with every R from Hoover to Reagan.  Really George?  Really?

I refused to listen to any of the UFO shows after the first couple I heard.  They just were not credible.

Art Bell had people on that turned out to be not credible as well, but he never seemed to be advocating on their behalf the way Knapp strikes me as doing.

I personally think the reason most people like Ian is because Geroge Noory sucks so bad as a host in comparison.  I think the reason people like Knapp is because Noory and Punnitt suck so bad with their hosting styles in comparison.  But that's just me.

Art Bell had cats. Anyone remember a bird named Tower? Hey, the guy liked critters, and he told us so. And he cared about people.
At least Mike Siegal actually had a cat. The best noory could do was aquire a dog and then dump it on someone to look after. Or so he says...
Hows that for touchy feely??

Don't forget his fond remembrences of his horse farm.

Didn't George say something about keeping Casey the dog in a kennel either when he was away to St Louis, or maybe it was the other way around - kenneling it when he went to LA?

He's such an idiot he didn't realize people would be upset by someone keeping a dog in a kennel that often for that length of time.

Pretty sure it was an imaginary dog anyway, one that was still too much of an effort for him to keep up with, so he had to find an imaginary friend to dump the dog on.

Maybe voter fraud isn't an issue, maybe it's just another misdirection attempt, another way to divide everyone.  But so is the idea 'millions' don't have photo ID's, and can't get them.

Millions of US citizens?  It's a big country, I'm sure there are at least a few people in any category one can think of - but I'd probably have trouble finding one.  But let's say they are out there.  I think we are being told they are mostly poor elderly blacks.  Wouldn't the local black community, specifically the local politically active reverends, be out taking care of it person by person?  They would have the full power of the media on their side.  No one would stand in the way.  Many would volunteer to help.

This is all starting to remind me of Mitch Snyder, who just made up the figures of 3 million homeless in the US at the time, and that 45 homeless people die every second in the US.  He then went out and told the homeless not to cooperate with the 1990 Census.  Know why?  A later actual count - which was then adjusted up for anyone missed - came in at considerably less tham 1 million, and a quick calculation of that many deaths would have been 1.4 billion per year.  He finally had to admit he completely made these numbers up.

The Rs have no problem lying either, but the Ds are off the charts.

Riots in the major Cities by Blacks who are angry that Obama lost. Thank God that I live 45 miles from Atlanta. If Romney wins and You live in the Cities You had better remove those Romney stickers from Your car or the Romney sign from Your yard!

Where I live if a person puts one on their car, the tolerant, enlightened, peaceful people will trash your ride.  God only knows what happens if signs go up in yards - better prepare to patrol the place with some dogs and a shotgun.

I would love to see the Occupy-type thugs, or some of the other people always out looking for trouble riot and try to tear up the wrong neighborhood - sadly, they're usually pretty smart about staying close to home base in Oakland, Berkeley and SF where they know they are going to be coddled.

I have been voting for 40 years. All I have ever needed was my voter registration card. As it should be.

But you had to prove you were a citizen to get one - isn't that what we are talking about.

Me, I just go in and give them my name and they cross it off the list as I go vote.  I could be anyone.  I could register at the DMV just by filling out a form and dropping it into the box.  I could put anything on it.  As I understand it, some places don't have the 30 day waiting period, they just register and vote right there.  All this is just a little too lax.

Rahm Emanuel, former chief of staff and current Mayor of Chicago (now there's something to be proud of):  "You never let a serious crisis go to waste.  And what I  mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before".

It's right out of the Alinsky playbook.  And perfectly describes passing Obamacare coming out of the 2008 meltdown.

The Justice Department has had to intervene in all the swing states because the Republicans have gotten so out of hand with various arbitrary voter restrictions. Has Limbaugh mentioned that? Didn't think so.

Like... requiring ID?  Just because the D's claim this is to suppress minority voting doesn't make it true - it's to suppress non-qualified poeple from voting (illegal or non-citizen aliens), or people voting in 2 different precincts.

Making this claim is also a way for the D's to inject race into the discussion and get their base angry enough to actually go out vote.

I think voter ID, going back to easily recountable paper ballots, getting rid of motor-voter and other ways that are just a little too easy to fraudulently register voters, are good ideas.   But at the same time if someone truly has no ID (?) and can't easily get out of the house to get it, someone at City Hall should go to them and provide it free.  Everyone eligible that wants to vote should be able to with no hassle.

And they shouldn't be playing games with overseas military personnel either - even if they overwhelingly vote R it's disgusting to try to suppress their votes.
