So this was just a spontanous crowd of our friends celebrating the 9/11 anniversary, who happened to bring rocket propelled grenades and automatic weapons, then got understandably upset about a YouTube video that had been out for months?

And Obama didn't know a thing about it for weeks - other than our ambassador was murdered, that this wasn't terrorism, or evidence that al-Quada-type groups are not really on the run, or evidence that Obama's policies towards the 'Arab Spring' and Muslims in general are foolish and dangerous?

There was a communications breakdown somewhere along the way - completely and absolutely not the fault of the guy in charge - and right now his top priority is to investigate, make sure it never happens again, and get back to us when the facts are in?  And anyone bringing it ip or questioning him about this now is 'playing politics'?

Do I have that all about right?

Shadow Divers by Robert Kurson - an Ian interview about a couple guys that found a GermanWWII U-boat sub while diving off the east coast and trying to figure out which one it was, and whether there were any records of it's mission.

I wasn't all that interested in diving or WWII Germany anything (there have just been so many novels and movies), but this book - and the interview - was really good.

It is, however, ok for Team Obama to put out a new lie whenever the tuth is closing in again.

...  the forgery part is simply untrue...

The long form birth certificate, which he finally 'released' earlier this year, could only have been created using current technology - not typewriters and such that existed in the early 1960s.

This is exactly the type of forgery of George W Bushes military records that got Dan Rather fired - using current technology to create records supposedly from the past.

You could look it up, as Yogi would say

Are you referring to Romney?

j/k but yeah , you have a good point.

Obama is a liar, therefore fox news is telling the truth, therefore Obama ordered the military to not assist the  embassy because he was intent on letting them die.

Got it.

How about -

Obama said confessed domestic 60s terrorist Bill Ayres is 'just a guy that lives in the neighborhood', then it turns out they served on boards together, Obama began his political career at a fundraiser at Bill's house, Ayres and his equally loathsome wife Bernadette Dohrn babysat the Obama kids...

Obama said in the 20 years he sat in Rev Wright's racist hateful church that he'd never heard any of that garbage, recording of which circulated the internet.  Then we find video of Obama speaking and sounding exactly like Rev Wright.

Obama said he was going to bring the country together.  What exactly has he ever done on that front?

All his broken promises on the economy - things he said his trillions in new debt stimulous would fix.

Fast forward to this incident and coverup - Obama has changed the story on Benghazi several times, and a ton of people in his administration are indicating his current story is a lie.  The Obama media are changing their stories as fast as Obama is.  The Fox story seems like a pretty accurate description of how things work - communication abilities, chain of command, standing orders that go into effect unless they are specifically canceled, the timeline sounds right, CIA and State have stories that conflict with Obama's, he's refusing to answer questions, Obama's general naivete towards Muslims and his relunctentness to believe anything but the best in them.

I'm going with what passes the smell test and not what doesn't.

Sorry guys, but the conspiracy bullshit has been flying from the right and from Fox for so long, neither has any credibility anymore.

Live in your media bubble all you want, but don't expect everyone else to buy what you're selling. Especially without any hard evidence.

That's cool.

But when a candidate lies about who he is, when the media that supports his party and philosophical leanings refuses to vet him, when he spends millions of dollars denying access to personal records that are routinely handed over by other candidates for President, when some of the documents that are finally released are forgeries, when a Social Security number is used that was issued by a state that person had no apparent ties to, on and on, is it really a surprise when questions are asked and theories are floated to fill in the blanks?

Determine if they are mostly positive or negitive in general.  Do they encourage you or discourage you, mostly open and honest or mostly.just bullshitting.  Do they do what they say they will do.

I look for little 'tells' - pay very close atention to what they say and do, no matter how insignificant it may seem at the time.

If  they say or so something that doesn't seem quite right, or is even very uncool - it it a one time event type thing we all do from time to time, or part of a trend.

Observe how they treat others and what they say behind their backs - I've seen people burned down the line after they said 'well, they haven't treated me that way'.

Carefully analize anything that seems unusual or out of character.

I'd be careful about getting involved with an addict.

Go with your gut.

Yeah, the terrible tape quality, the quiverng voice, the crop circles and mutilated cattle - ugh!, even the bees and bat colony collapses got to be old.  I liked her more recent reports on Gobekli Tepe and that she actually went there.

Team Noory and all the regulars are pretty Sucky, each in their own way.  George wouldn't have it any other way.

Eveyln Paglini is as annoying and as full of shit as any of them

I actually don't mind Linda that much, at least she goes places and interviews people and has an interest in the world around her - a rare thing for the current hosts and guests of C2C.  And she's not an idiot like the Numbers Lady, Whitley or Richard C, and she's not sitting around making shit up to scare people like the remote 'viewers' and 'predictions' people.

And a malignant narcissist emerges for all the world to see.

The sad part is half the country told the other half about this guy before the election last time.  What part of 'Bill Ayres', 'Jeremiah Wright' and 'Corrupt Chicago Machine Politics' didn't they get?

Hope that the American people come to their senses at the ballot box ..... your fine country cannot sustain another term from this 'piker' ....

Obama is just a potential final nail.  We've allowed the Left to march through and do a pretty good job of attacking and seriously damaging our institutions going on 50 years now.  Prior to that they were trying but weren't allowed to get much traction.

I'll never understand why some are so threatened by freedom and self rule, rather than embracing it.  And why others are so easily taken in by these demagogues - its almost funny watching the easily led act all superior.

Here is the problem with Obama - Of the Americans in leadership positions, Obama thinks he is uniquely able to understand Islam.  Just like most of the Moslims - whether he is one or not - he insists terrorism is not part if Islam.  In his mind he has narrowed terorism down to al-Qaeda, and thus gives support and access to organizations like CAIR and the Moslem Brotherhood.

I know everyone likes to scoff at the idea Obama is either a Muslem, or blinded to their Terrorism, or both, but that's the truth.

He is trying to run out the clock on the election.  His narrative is that Osama bin Ladem is dead and al-Qaeda is on the run.  He's not going to willingly change that narrative before Nov 6, no matter how many diplomats and other Americans have to get killed because of it.  Of course he wasn't going to send in help - no matter what - that would have been the end of his precious carefully crafted narrative.

As for Hillary - both Clintons have always been just shit.  Bill was useless as President doing nothing, standing for nothing, accomplishing nothing.  We were very fortunate his administration came during a time of peace and prosperity.  His fecklessness and lack of seriousness caused his party to lose control of the House of Reps for the first time in 40 years.   It's no coincidence the first budget surplus in decades came as the result.

Which gets me to Hillary - she was always the driving power, the Leftist behind the throne.  She has brushed up her image as Senator and now Sec of State, but underneath she's still the same old loathsome Hillary.  Her advisor on Arab affairs is a Moslem Brotherhood operative.  Not sure if that's her choice or Obama's, but it's pretty telling.  Guess what they were doing on 9/11 while the Embassy was under attack, and in the days since.

This country needs to dump Obama - Hard.  And not let Hillary Clinton, or anyone else like her anywhere near the levers of power again.  It's just not safe to do so or good for the country in any way.

But when did they start huffing it, man?

Seriously, though, over half is a bit much.  If I had to guess, I would say that the actual number is maybe 30 percent.  Which is still way to damn high. ..

I grew up in a Christian church but am not in any way religious now.  I never heard one single person claim the earth was anything other than billions of years old (they said the 6 'days' it took god to create everything, the 'days' were very much longer than a 24 hour period).   I've never personally run into anyone claiming the earth was 6000 years old or anything like that, anywhere, ever.  Maybe that's just not the kind of thing that comes up in conversation.

Having said that, I've always lived on the West Coast and have never been to the South or Midwest or Texas or wherever the Bible Belt is, and only know a handful of people from any of those places.  But they mostly all seemed normal.  Is that really what people think other than a handful of kooks?  I'd be really surprised, but I've been surprised before.

Nate Silver puts a lot of effort into his number crunching, taking into account state and regional polling as well as national polling, corrects for bias, includes projections from bookmakers, etc.  He correctly predicted 49 states in 2008.  He has Obama as a 2-1 favorite, even with the popular vote being extremely close.  Lot's of interesting info here, including his methodology.

http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/
His elections calculus is closely followed by both parties.

Note to gabbers:  I am well aware of what many conservatives think about the NYT. Read the methodology before freaking out.

Senseless violence. Unneeded bullshit that terrorizes people who are doing nothing but trying to live their lives. A block from my house some kid got shot twice. walked two blocks before collapsing at the grocery store. Hes in a coma with a bullet lodged in his lungs that they cant operate on. Spent some time today talking to his neighbors. I dont get it. I understand the need for guns, and I completely support the right to bear arms. But I dont understand why a person would shoot another person for no reason. This is an old neighborhood. Half of these houses around here are owned by seniors. We have a senior home right down the street. Its a quiet place. Hell, I think the loudest it ever gets is when I wonder outside after having a drink and whitle a tune. Then you hear some shots, and find out some kid was shot. I fucking hate it. I also hate it thats its happened before around here. I fucking hate violence. It annoys me to the very essence of my being. I also hate what this city has become. It was such a good place. Im bored with it all. Im sick of the news. I need a fresh start somewhere else. Jesus am I fucking tired of this shit. fuck...

We have a group of people in this country that are constantly telling another group that a third group are a bunch of rascists and that the first group thus has no chance to succeed.  Just for politics.

I don't know if that's the problem where you are, but it's at the root of much of that kind of stuff in most of our big cities.

Popular vote for Romney, Electoral College looks too close to call.

What the hell, I'll say Romney  - the undecideds typically break forthe challenger if the incumbent hasn't won them over by now... and skewed polling is favoring Obama based on 2008 turnout levels for various groups (students & African-Americans for eample won't turnout at the same levels as 08)

MR really helped himself in the debates - people saw he wasn't the person Obama and the media painted him to be.

Very shortly watch for the polls to start to break for Romney.

Most of these pollsters are just another branch of the Phony Media and are in the tank for Obama - they don't mind trying to show Obama ahead or in a virtual tie in an effort to try to lead the easily lead toward their guy, but they don't want to be wrong at the end or they won't have credibility next time around.

I love stats.  What I don't love are bullshit stats.

Like when they tell us whenever a certain baseball team scores 10 runs or more they win 97% of those games.  Or whenever a certain football team takes a 14 point lead into the 4th quarter at home, or when a team hits 3 HRs,  they win most of those games.  Well no shit.

Today I heard the worst one of all - well maybe, there is some heavy competition.  The Giants have this pitcher, Barry Zito.  When he was with Oakland in the AL he was the staff ace, an All-Star, one of the best pitchers in baseball.  He's been in the NL with the Giants for half a dozen years now (he signed a massive $120 million multi-year contract), and has been absolutely dismal the whole time.

So today he's pitching agains the Tigers in Game One of the World Series, and they are talking about his lifetime stats against the Tigers, all of which came years ago when Zito was a great pitcher in the AL with the A's.  There is no one left on the Tigers from those years.  Any of Zito's stats against the Tigers from those years are completely irrelevant.  Completely ridiculous bringing any of that up.
