More freezing rain then snow here in Raleigh.   Might be for the best.  The folks here do not handle snow well

Still snowing to beat the band.  I don't ever recall as heavy a snow as this before Christmas since I've been living here. Sticking more to the yards and streets now.  Supposed to continue all night.  If it does, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a foot of the white stuff here by the morning.

you get on out there now and make a white snowman with dreadlocks.  ;) :D ;D 8)

Hee hee! I have a mechanic friend from Newfoundland who moved to SC years ago and he just laughs and rubs his hands together whenever you guys get inclement weather down there. He says it's just like bumper cars at a carnival.  ;D

'Sinking' Pacific nation is getting bigger: study

The Pacific nation of Tuvaluâ€"long seen as a prime candidate to disappear as climate change forces up sea levelsâ€"is actually growing in size, new research shows.

A University of Auckland study examined changes in the geography of Tuvalu's nine atolls and 101 reef islands between 1971 and 2014, using aerial photographs and satellite imagery.

It found eight of the atolls and almost three-quarters of the islands grew during the study period, lifting Tuvalu's total land area by 2.9 percent, even though sea levels in the country rose at twice the global average.

Those islands must be like zits. The weight of the extra water around them causes them to pop up.

ROTF!  That's a funny image.

Canals In Venice, Italy are Drying Up.   I thought there was supposed to be rising sea levels throughout the world?  My bad!  :o

They need to build canals in Stockton. Then people would come from all over to experience the old country in Stocktoni. Have those getting UBI do it. “For the greater good”.

Maybe that is where LauraKinch and YP are moving to. Makes sense now.

Winters becoming colder in the Southeast in recent decades according to scientists.  They blame it on a warming hole.  Is this like the ozone hole of several decades ago?

Snow-covered beaches? Chilly iguanas? They are part of a mysterious ‘hole’ in global warming

.......According to a scientific study published this month, the Southeast’s colder winter weather is part of an isolated trend, linked to a more wavy pattern in the jet stream that crosses North America. That dipping jet stream allows artic air to plunge into the Southeast. Scientists call this colder weather a “hole” in overall global warming, or a “warming hole.”

“What we are looking at is an anomaly,” said Jonathan M. Winter, an assistant professor of geography at Dartmouth College and the principle investigator in the study. “The Southeast is the exception to the rule.”

Winter and lead author Trevor F. Partridge, a Dartmouth graduate student, say this year’s extreme cold in Southeast could be a product of the warming hole. “It is the same mechanism that causes this bitterly cold air to come down,” said Winter.

The Southeast’s warming hole has been studied many times before, but the Dartmouth study in Geophysical Research Letters nails down some of its key features. The study concludes the trend started in the late 1950s, and is concentrated in six states â€" Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisiana Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. Nearby states are also affected, such as east Texas, Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina.

Either because of coincidence or cooler climes, residents of these states tend to be relatively doubtful that global warming is happening and is largely caused by human activities, according to surveys compiled by Yale and George Mason university......

" The cooling is caused by the warming."      LOL

Why is this funny? That's how it fucking happens.

Wow remember when we only had to deal with blizzards and storms. Now thanks to Donald Trump and those evil republicans it’s a fricken “cyclone bomb”. Tomorrow the left will be calling them “AR15 Trump Cyclone Bombs”.

Bless the left for the way they constantly change the language.

Fortunately in the real world where people haven’t fallen for the global whatever fantasy for socialism it’s called a friendly gathering of fluffy snowflakes delivering refreshing hydration for the children of the The Oprah Earth.

No doubt nasty. It’s a “naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasty” storm.

“Bomb cyclone: it sounds really cool”

No it sounds like something someone came up with to scare people. Like saying the oceans will rise 100 feet by 2008. This is a pattern with fake climate science.

Assault Weapon NRA storm. Now that’s scawy sounding.
