99 percent of all talk media .

While that may be true, I don't ever recall a show being this horrendous.

Lilith

It was boring from start to finish, and I had hopes for this.  Same ol callers, same ol stuff.  Way over drawn out, with useless Heather babble.

George Sendas babble, is far more entertaining.

The positive thing though is that we both got to trash the show together.. happy New year brig.

I tried so hard to listen, maybe even for the full first hour...this is NOT radio, it's HLW's Foolsbook friends. Honestly when she was going on about the cat staring at her I conked, mercifully... :( :( :(

Never again. I don't even think a Damon call could have juiced this slow-mo train wreck. Uggh.

354 online listeners. is this a... viable job?

Here's the thing about that, now only be speaking on my own behalf. As you noted only 354 listeners. We don't exactly know how many of those people actually subscribe. I'm not trying to argue that it's a big number but I'm sure there are those that are that ignorant enough to subscribe to her.

Now personally speaking, I don't exactly have the highest numbers on my own stream. However there are multiple places my show is being streamed to. I don't worry or care about live views... I care about the views after On YouTube & the podcast. Those numbers are fantastic. We don't know how well, Heather's Facebook friends pay her through donations.

Let's parse it at a generous, even absurd 25% subscribe rate - for no special reason, just to play numbers - that's roughly 88 subscribers X $5/month = $440/month income.

No way that does more than buy smokes and whatever. :-\

Also you need the additional ad money for those radio spots. I'm sure it's enough to get by, we also aren't privy to any other income that may have came from someone like art

Fair enough, let's guesstimate:

https://www.advertisecast.com/podcast-advertising-rates
Here are the industry average rates for podcast advertising. Note CPM is cost per mille or cost per 1,000 listeners.
30-Second Ad CPM   60-Second Ad CPM
$18                          $25

I can't recall how many real ads she runs, maybe 10 per hour?

All of a sudden the 4 hour long format begins to "add up"...to a potential $1,000 per show?

Is this even possible?

You're in this biz Mikey, do those numbers jibe with reality?

Well I do know some of the business indeed, it really depends however. There are multiple variables you must consider. That is a pretty good accurate number however variables and after taxes.

This is why I always said, there is no more big money to be made in radio. You're not going to see anyone making Howard Stern money.

Hell, Jim and Sam over on Sirius XM I think they make about a million... And both guys are talentless piece of shit. Sirius XM I think would be the only place that actually pays well.

Yeah the reach and revenues is all of it, for example, here's a show that has HLW like listenership:

I've got 3,162 on Twitter.. not sure that is actually helping me but I could be wrong.

Lilith

I think Heather only runs two add segments per hour, one on the hour, and one on the half hour, and honestly, I don't think those are "real" adds.  I could be wrong.

Then there's her Affiliates page:

Heather herself said that her emergency fund is running in the red...

Not that I believe a word she says,

Just Sayin.

Well, if she's making enough money...

I suppose this could go on for a very, very long time.

What do you think?

Metron2267

I do not know, that's why I was running the ad revenue numbers with Mikey.

If, and it's a damned big if, this is a $750-$1,000 a show ad revenue stream the subscriber base is irrelevant - unless or until the advertisers realize they're being gamed by her audience stats.

I can't see this lasting, I really can't. :o
