Quote from: Dr. MD MD on September 10, 2022, 02:04:25 PMYou're a piece of dirt on Trump's shoe.

I guess that's as good as 'evidence' as Rudy et al gave to <checks notes> 60 judges when it came to making a case for trump being cheated out of the election...by some weird dichotomy, all the GOP candidates who won their respective seats haven't argued the outcome, even though the same voting machines and process was used.

Actually it isn't anything like Star Wars. It's a legal process. You have a case, present it. Funny how no-one has, even when drump was POTUS..

Quote from: Dr. MD MD on September 10, 2022, 09:23:09 AMYour proof of this and that the Dems don't also do likewise? Are we just supposed to take your word for it?

Of course I cannot be 100% certain, but I am 99% fairly sure the Democratic supporters don't willingly add to drumps personal coffers.

And no, don't take my word for it:

Quote from: Dr. MD MD on September 10, 2022, 08:29:04 AMSo, just freeze to death then? There's that British spirit that once ruled the world.  ;D

We can thank Johnson. And the Tories in general. They long ago (because all privatisation is best natch) that energy would go to newly formed private companies (who were helpfully subsidised) who creamed off the profits with minimal investment initially. The 'market' would decide the price customers paid..it just so happened that 'price' would be a lot.

TX experienced similar last winter when they froze to death and the companies raked it in.

QuoteCaught on Tape: Doug Mastriano Prayed for MAGA to 'Seize the Power' Ahead of Jan. 6

A week before Jan. 6, on a Zoom call organized by far-right Christian Nationalists seeking to reinstall Donald Trump in the White House, a man with a booming baritone voice bowed his bald head and began to pray. "We remember the promises of old," he said, before invoking the book of Revelations and its account of the End Times: "We know we overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony and not loving our lives unto death."

Quite.

Quote from: pate on September 09, 2022, 07:29:40 PMWhat percentage Reptilian was the Queen:  Full-Blood, Half-Blood, Quarter-Blood, &tc?

From the image above, I am going to guess at minimum a Half-Blood...

I suppose we need to know what percentage Reptilian Prince Phillip was to figure out what percent Reptilian King Chuck is.

Anyway, I will let that stand for the moment as the research into that subject seems to yield wildly divergent numbers.

The important question, I think, is how soon King Chuck will institute Coffee Enemas at the National Health Service.

Will they be mandatory or just recommended?

Asking for a friend, TIA.

The Queen is dead, Long Live the King!

It crossed my mind today if maybe David Icke had uttered anything about reminding his followers that he thought the Royal family are lizards..I guess not.

Quote from: albrecht on September 09, 2022, 06:59:03 PMWell, I won't blaspheme since it was noted and who am I to say. And what with the old book being an Old Covenant. But. I just like the music. I will leave the 'pomp and circumstances' to K_Dubb and the light on the loafer Royal commentators. But also like the flybys and military parades also.

I know I'm biased, but when it comes to precision on cerimony, the Brits are to the second. The fly passes, the parades, the salutes. Even the carriage pulling her lead lined coffin will pull up to Westminster Abbey precisely. The detail will pick her her up precisely on cue (much rehearsal). It will be more accurate than a Rolex.

Quote from: albrecht on September 09, 2022, 06:13:03 PMI love Händel, as mentioned before. And appropriate for a German House having a new Sovereign but it raises some eyebrows if there is a tribal-deal going on also.  ;) Well, I guess, in those feet in ancient times and all that!

Charles is also quite 'down with the kids' as much as someone born to unimaginable wealth can be, so there might be a nod to that and the lyrics re-written: Zadok the MF and Nathan the bad ass bone breaker. No?

Quote from: K_Dubb on September 09, 2022, 03:04:22 PMYou know they will not sing that, they will commission a new piece that is a vibrant mashup of Indian raga and Jamaican drum band called "Yo Put De Oil On De King Mon" with a solo for Inuit throat-singer, with a Bollywood troupe and a bunch of fat Tongans in their lavalavas doing a dance-off on the altar.

I think history is on the side of my first assumption...

Zadok the Priest (HWV 258) is a British anthem that was composed by George Frideric Handel for the coronation of King George II in 1727. Alongside The King Shall Rejoice, My Heart is Inditing and Let Thy Hand Be Strengthened, Zadok the Priest is one of Handel's Coronation Anthems. One of Handel's best-known works, Zadok the Priest has been sung prior to the anointing of the sovereign at the coronation of every British monarch since its composition and has become recognised as a British patriotic anthem.[1][2]

And Chuck if nothing else, loves history.

Thinking ahead to the Coronation (I'm stumping for early spring 2023), that little Handel ditty Zadok the Priest will inevitably be sung by the choir of Westminster Abbey. It's been a while and I'm not sure I can hit a top C so my previous soprano stint is questionable, I might have to do tenor or even bass.

My good friend and noted inadvertant castrato Paddy 'no balls' Calladine is a good fit though. Inadvertant because as a little hooligan at aged 12, he was apple scrumping (stealing apples) and the house owner came out. Paddy in a blind panic ran and tried vaulting the dividing picket fence and well, you can guess the rest. Still, it did present a lifelong singing opportunity.

Speaking of horses. His mother has quite a stable of racehorses. Will they be reduced to dog food/sold to the ghastly French or will he try to summon up the same glee?

One thing the Brit military can do and that's drill and proper marching, not the strolling as if they're in flip flops in Florida. And that half hearted slow motion 'salute' they do here, what's that about?

Quote from: SredniVashtar on September 09, 2022, 08:28:35 AMI wish people wouldn't talk about the Queen's passing, as though she played in midfield. She died FFS. I was listening to the radio when the announcement was made and Andrew Marr got so choked up he couldn't even speak. Whatever else it might be, it isn't 'sad' when a very elderly woman who nobody actually knew, and was in poor health, dies. I don't suppose we'll get Diana-level hysteria but I am waiting for the first person to say the wrong thing so they can be publicly burned for wrongthink.

Do you know what they call the pink-faced, Brexit-voting, Daily Mail-reading types now? They are known as 'gammons'. You're probably a bit out of touch with modern British idiom since you left (or were asked to leave, I forget which).

Yes, she was old. And anyone who has lost an elderly parent or grandparent (depending on child's age) deals with it differently. She had four kids, all but one arguably emotionally stunted or fucked up in other ways.

Hey, the currency will need to be reprinted/re minted. That'll be strange.

Erm why gammons? Asking for a friend. I was asked to leave. Fortunately I know people and it didn't make the papers.
