Mr Scott, would you recommend podcasting from a folding table in front of a public restroom at "Contact in the Desert" as a means to get a job on C2C, a la Jimmy Church? Any insights would be greatly appreciated...God Bless...

2602 pages to get to this point? Honestly? :o

Par for the course. This is so reminiscent of when Brian Williams was suspended from NBC and the thousands and thousands of pages of "will he be back or not?" postings over on WilliamsGab.com. Deja vu all over again.

Leaving XM was a shame. I never had any problems with the feed dropping  ;)

So after all this, are you saying I should stop waiting for UPS to deliver my Pizza Punch order?

Anyone else having trouble with Sirius? I subscribed to the premiere package and I don't have channel 104. I'm about two drinks away from canceling the subscription!!!

Just FYI, there are a couple of "Family-Friendly" options which don't include a few uncensored channels, and 104 is one of them. So you could have the premiere package with the family-friendly option.

Not sure if this is true--was told by somebody that Howard was kind of Mocking Art...you know about the crazy Alien guy.  Comparing him to one of his wack pack--isn't his name Riley Martin?...a low grade imitator of Art who was on C2C for a hour or so way in the past.  I think it was with Art--I do remeber listeing to that...the guy was awful and a bit touched.  Not one of the best C2C guests at all.  I hear Howard gives him time on his channel as a goof.

I'm not sure you got this right - I can't see how Riley Martin could be called a low grade imitator of Art. He was just a guest, an alleged abductee, who was on Coast at least three or four times, and probably for whole shows. I don't think he was ever on with Art, but I remember in particular a whole show he did with Ian. He sounds like an older guy, and with his dry, matter-of-fact delivery, I thought he was a scream, although very likely insane. I think he told a story about having a boxing match with his alien abductors, after which he asked them to give him an alien woman as a reward. I would love to hear Riley Martin on DM.

Edit: Having said all that, I just Googled him and I see that he DOES have his own show on Sirius XM, so I guess I stand corrected. Still found him funny. I might tune in to his show now!

Art's making Hoagland ride the Sybian. It could be compelling.

Oh shit. "Wanna Take a Ride?" That's what that meant?

Turn back, it's a cookbook!!!

I couldn't care less about the name of the show, I always thought coast to coast sounded like a adolescent's bicycle purchased at Montgomery Ward.

Art could call his show "A loud and Thunderous Piano and Feather" and I would still want to listen.

I was going to suggest "Art Bell's Matching Pen and Shovel Set" but I didn't think he'd go with it. I would still want to listen.

Talk is cheap at Gab.  Art wants you to show him your money and to stick all of your cash in his pocket.  It's a new world and if you want to play you have to pay Mr. Bell.  You asked for Bell to return and he did.  So show SiriusXM your money or go away once and for all and shut up.  Fort Rock have you paid?  Rock are you really Bell?  Cheap is cheap does.  What are your qualifications to complain?  Pay up or shut-up.  Talk is cheap at Gab unless you pay with hard cold ca$h.  Art Bell wants your money (like Pizza Punch -- he took your money and never delivered).  Will Bell deliver in September 2013?  Of course not.  Bell will fade away has he has always done in the past.  So did you pay?  The answer is NO.  You all Gab and whine because it is free to do so.  Lester paid up knowing very well that Art Bell is not capable of lasting.  What say Mr. Dark Matter?  What say Art Bell?  What say Fort Rock?  Waiting.... for an answer that will never come.  Bell what are your qualifications to be hosting a year from now -- certainly not based on your most recent record?

Hmmm. Sounds like someone's been cheekin' their meds...

Uh-oh:  "Dark Matter hosted by George Noory"   :o

I've solved the mystery!!!

For those of you not lucky enough to be former charter subscribers to "Dark Matter hosted by George Noory," it began in late 2009 and only lasted about six months despite (or perhaps because of) Dave's endorsement.

One day the DVDs just stopped arriving, and this was their explanation: "DARK MATTER has gone on hiatus for a brief time.. .so April's Hidden Currents (Y2V4) would be the correct last DVD for now. As you know, we really value our subscribers so we’re always looking to make it even better. Sorry for the interruption in the service but we really think you’re going to appreciate the next evolution of DARK MATTER.  We'll send out an email notice when we're ready to launch again with all the details."

Well, I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I SURE DO appreciate the next evolution of Dark Matter!!! And someone DID send out an email notice when Dark Matter was ready to launch again!

Art should reproduce that entire trailer (in a non-infringing but obvious way) and use it to advertise his show. That would be legendary.

"Dark Matter" w/ George Noory Trailer

Hahahahah! How could I have forgotten that? I actually have a few of those DVDs before they went belly-up. It was Dave's attempt to rub elbows with a few of his Hollywood cronies and produce a Twilight Zone-like series. I'm sure he had nothing to do with it other than lending them his name and attending their cocktail parties. Too funny. Kicking myself for not being the first one to post that.

That being said, how funny is it that Art picked that name for his show? "Oh, so you're keeping the Coast to Coast title, are you? Fine, I'll see that and raise you one, I'm using Dark Matter. How does that taste, Dave?"

A few years ago, Ian had a guest on who he said sounded exactly like another person he knew (possibly another guest he had interviewed previously... I can't remember). The next week, Ian played clips of the two voices and they sounded EXACTLY the same. It was very weird.

That being said, I don't think that Whitley and Victor are the same person... Interesting observation though.

Yessiree, that would have been "Simon," who allegedly discovered or translated the Necronomicon and appeared using a voice disguiser. Ian was pretty sure Simon was Peter Levenda, and he played comparison clips and I think he actually called Levenda/Simon on it during their next appearance. The guest denied any connection, but it was obvious Ian wasn't buying it. He was like, "Are you sure you're not involved?", giving them every chance to come clean. Would have been interesting to hear Ian's take on Victor Strieber.

I would jump through a hoop of flaming fire to hear a re-interview with Dean Koontz.

Didn't Ian have Koontz on? Twice I think. I remember them being very enjoyable IIRC.

Love him or hate him, Hoagland makes for good radio. I personally think he is nothing but a money hungry idiot with an old watch and a strong case of pareidolia...

Ummm, for everyone else's sake I'm going to pretend like I don't know what that means and post it here for you: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/pareidolia

My random intro suggestion. The synth is key, so I'd say a few seconds before the drums kick in onward to the synth. That would be great underneath Art's voice.

My favorite sequence from that film has always been the flowers blooming upon Arthur's return ride, while O Fortuna plays in the background.

And Helen Mirren's Morgana killed it.

Soundtrack gives me goosebumps every time.

c2c is gradually moving more and more away from the paranormal topics (and Snoory doesn't present them well since he quite obviously has no interest in them).

Are you kidding? Do I need to remind you (for the ten-thousandth time) of his aunt Shafika Carigula?

The King of Talk Radio.

[attachimg=1]

Now that's funny. For no apparent reason (although Snorge would say there are no coincidences), this whole situation was reminding me of Excalibur (the movie) just the other day.

If you haven't seen it, at the exciting climax King Arthur finds Guinevere shacking up with Lancelot in the woods and he shoves the sword in the ground beside them and leaves. The country begins to fall into chaos, and Arthur gets old and ill, but then he's called out of retirement to save the day. Not sure how to do this without the sword, he goes to find Guinevere in a convent to apologize, only to find that she's saved Excalibur for him all this time. He takes it back and, revitalized by it, rides into battle.

So I guess, in my little thought experiment, MV would be Guinevere, keeping the faith here in the CoastGab convent until such time as King Art returns to vanquish the foe.

Or I could just be bored, I dunno.
