Would you find yourself purchasing Carnivora or Tri-Calm (or is it Tri-Com, I can't really tell by the commercial, just that it comes in blue in a white box) if it weren't advertised on C2C?
Only if I was miserable and itchy in my own skin.  But that only happens if I listen to Noory.  Just like I only feel my immune system stops modulating when I hear Noory.

Radio promos (and commercials) are scheduled by the traffic department.  At every station where I worked, no one in traffic knew what was actually on the promo - they only knew that a promo for Coast (for instance) was supposed to run so many times a day (hour, etc.). As so many stations are actually run by a computer, it's likely been years since anyone actually listened to the promos for content.
It certainly seems as if it's been years since anybody at PremRat listened to C2C for content.

Fat ass tommy is there because its cheaper to pay him than tear down the front of the building and get him out.
Ha, and Jorch is still there because he can't figure out how to get out and Tommy's too busy scarfing down stale doughnuts to help him out.  Well, except on skip-out Fridays, when Jorch has to rush home to his Sleep Number bed with his turkey sandwich and itch cream in hand, anticipating OD'ing on turmeric.

Yes, it could just be the old corporate "play if safe with a known quantity" mode.  Known mediocre suckage is much safer than taking a chance to hit it out of the park, in the corporate mind set.  Somebody such as Art usually abhors the corporate climate and the corporate weenies usually don't get a creative "rebel-type," unless it's some true Hollywood types who have manufactured a supposed "rebel."

If they were smart they would just run old Art shows...
An excellent point.  Just run SIT seven days a week, with a couple of Sundays set aside every month for Knapp.  No UFO Phil, no Springheel Jack, no Submerging Artists, and, best of all, no Noory.

Of course, we're discussing an outfit that can't even keep their websites current within a year or so.  Maybe these idiots think Art is still actually on every night and Noory is a bumbling janitor wondering around the studio and Tommy is some fat slob who got tired of hanging-out at Starbucks.

I'm guessing, but only guessing, that these promos are made by the local stations and so they know that almost any host will likely get more potential listeners than promoing using recent shows.
Hahaha, I wonder if any local stations are running  promos with Art,  such as for his guest hosting and special Ghost to Ghost and New Year Prediction shows. ;)

I've been somewhat surprised PremRat continues to run SIT. It's like having one big promo every Saturday illustrating how low the current C2C has sunk by comparison.  'Yes, valued listeners, this is how great C2C used be.  Now look at us!"
#18637
The direct link in my original post has been corrected.  Unlike certain folks, I like to update my internet posts with the correct info.;)  As happy as Art is with PremRat for still running SIT, he must be thrilled to know he's still filling in for Jorch.
#18638
Rob Simone is well known to be a protege of Noory, so that explains his presence in the running for the weekend suckage.  With the flunkies and corporate synchophants at PremRat, they're no doubt taking Noory's recommendations which is a major problem for anyone interested in quality candidates.  The only thing Noory is interested in is ensuring no one threatens his position.  A legitimate concern since even a well-spoken rock would sound better as a host.
#18639
Classhic.  I can't wait for this year's C2C Ghost to Ghost with Art hosting.  Is PremRat going to slip Art into the on-going weekend host try-outs?  I understand he's pretty good. ;)

My error with the link. It should work now.  Apparently, among other duties, Art's still guest hosting for Jorch.:))

You know, the shocking bit is, despite the exorbitant tax burden they (the limeys) endure, they still receive sub-standard care in most cases, and sub-human care in a good many other cases. it`s tragic. It really is. My dear friend has cried on my shoulder way too many times, and she believes in that mess!
There's always the inherent burden of the non-productive bureaucracy to pay for it.  It's always part of the cost-structure for any behemoth bureaucracy, government or corporate.

I remember George bragging once that it had only taken Lex 2 years to make some minor changes to the web site
Ha,ha,ha, Jorch and Co., the joke that keeps on giving.  The C2C webmaster probably doesn't listen to the show and the clueless management at PremRat probably rarely communicates with him.  An intern or similar no doubt provides him with a routine daily update. Lord knows Jorch wouldn't notice or take action.

It wasn't that long ago I believe it was the Premiere Radio website still had Art listed as a regular C2C host, for more than just SIT.  I wouldn't be surprised if it has yet to updated.  Hell, I'm surprised PremRat even knows about the internet.

THat would be some sweet listening.  Jorch tap dancing as fast as he can around the question.  "Man, baseball, you bet.  That is the all American past time.  I wonder how long until professional sports recognizes and starts testing athletes for tumeric?  Wouldn't that be something?"
Ha, yes, or testing for Carnivora.  "That's absolutely correct, Jorch.  It's all about that home run hit'n moduuuuulation.  I fully expect to have no strike-outs at bat in my line-up!"

My local AM station runs promos for C2C. But uses John B Wells segments as the advertising promos. Even just today after his being fired for a few months.
Check this out at the C2C website.

The webmaster seems to be as competent as the rest of Jorch & Co.

I only listen to Coast on Sunday if George Knapp is hosting...
Memo to Premiere: enough with the cavalcade of nobodies. Pick a weekend host and go with them.
I'm surprised Knapp is still with C2C.  Talk about a voice in the wilderness.  As for "The Others," even PremRat is apparently having a hard time finding a weekend host who  meets or exceeds the supreme suckage of Jorch.  I'm surprised Seagul or whatever the hell is name is hasn't made a roaring comeback.  ::)

Ha!  Yes, I must admit he has that Backyard Farmer NPR type of voice:  Now, make sure your mulch is nice and thick around each tomato plant.....and water regularly!
Pretty close.  The little I listened to sounded like Mr. Rogers.  Not exactly "edgy.  I'd been listening to Art with SIT just before, so that didn't help any.  It still amazes me how a 15 year or older show with Art just blows any present C2C incarnation out of the water.

PremRat really sucks when it comes to making any effort to produce a quality show with a talented host.  I haven't been impressed with any of the current crop of Saturday hosts.  All of Hollywood at their access and this is the best we can hope for?  Even if they're paying peanuts, you'd think they could draw some good young talent looking to make a name.  What a bunch of weenies.

Jorch should be cast in a remake of Kotter.  He'd be the student that's continually held back and could serve as the school's cafeteria announcer. "Today's lunch will be a delightful selection of turkey turmeric casserole, topped with diced Chicago all-beef weinies, and cream of Carnivora served over salami.  Cafeteria background music with be spun once again by me, Jorch Noory.  You will be treated to UFO Phil and Frank Sinatra classics personally selected by my mother for your listening pleasure. Do you feel miserable and itchy in your own skin?  I know I do.  That's why you should try..."

Yes, Back when Snooron was on Bellgab, I messaged him asking what he thought his best shows were, as Art had many memorable shows that stood out.

Noory responded: "they are all classics".
That's Noory.  What a dick.

It's sad how apt that metaphor is. I feel like the alcoholic's wife "that's it! I've had it with his bullshit this time!", but as soon as he starts to get come 'round and talk sweet like he used to, I get excited about having him back and things the way they were when things were better, but everyone knÅ"ows it's only a matter of time... including me, but I don't want to admit it. Okay that sounds pretty weird
Maybe weird but "thuh trooth."

When does Al's new TV show start?  MeTV just replaced "F-Troop" with "Welcome Back Kotter" so I've got an opening in my TV viewing schedule.  I've never been a big Sweathog fan but a new crime show featuring big Al's antics might be entertaining.

Can't Jaz work his magic on Jorch?  Is the Dark Force too strong for even Jaz to overcome?

That is funny, my husband wants a pyre and we were discussing it the other day. In Colorado, one company has permission to do 12 a year. But they do it on a concrete slab, no water send off. That really takes something out of the whole ceremony.  We were wondering about the availability of archers with the proper skill set, too.
Noory is always talking about  "packing heat."  I'm sure he could take aim with a flare gun to light things off.  Oh, yeah, that would be an "interesting" send-off. ;)  He could make The Great Chicago Fire a small footnote in history.

There is something to be said for that. I respect Art, but I don't think he grasps the fact that most people can't just up and leave their employment and may just look at his serial retirements as being a diva.

I also think that Art, painful as this is to write, overestimated his importance to  Sirius as well as his relevancy in the paranormal field. He's plenty of competition now - Snoory's hung on for 10 years, lots of paranormal tv programming, podcasts, etc. His numbers were never going to be what they were in the glory days, and they won't be when the podcast returns. And I have to wonder if he'll leave that, too, if the numbers aren't what he wants.
Ouch.  Unfortunately, I have similar thoughts.  Even if Art does come back, how long will it be before some similar BS arises and Art abruptly heads for the exit.  I'll never forget the poor lady who got through to Art on the first DM show and chastised him for his previous departures.  We are that lady.

...And WTF is it with Noory's night in Boise?  It's a joke how he now mentions it so often. I'd think maybe he got laid there, but this is Geo. Noory I'm talking about.
Ha, Jorch's big night in Boise.  "The Night the Lights Went Out in Idaho?"  Nah, "The Night Jorch Drove Old Boise Down."

Ok. I am now officially creeped the fuck out by Robert the doll. I had heard of him before, but not the entire story. The idea of seeing the doll's shadow running around in an empty room gives me the willies. Dolls and clowns. *shudder*
What creeps me out is thinking about Noory chasing Robert the doll around a room.
