"Nuance."  Non-pompous, over used word?  "Awesome."  The favorite of Valley Girls everywhere.

If Jorch was The Prez, I'd be laughing a whole lot more.  At least until Jorch pushed the wrong button.

I was imagining the other day that there must be a religious cult somewhere that worships the eternal suckage of said George Noory.  In this imaginary realm, the "Church" of Noory is replete with stained-glass windows depicting his many sucking adventures and stories, as well as the best sucking quotes, such as "asteroids have brains" and "Bigfoot may well be an extraterrestrial, because - remember Chewbacca?”.  An upside-down, gothic portrait of Art Bell adorns a dank side wall.

Shadow rodents scurry between the pews as the congregation begins to dutifully chant from a music book written by UFO Phil.  Suddenly, a huge, cheap, plastic-like bust of George begins to creak and unsteadily lower from the ceiling. The bust begins to rapid-fire burning-hot pizza rolls from his putrid mouth hole at the dazed Congregants.  People are screaming with elation as they get splattered with steaming pizza juice and pizza parts  - and all the while a mechanized laugh of George Noory reaches a maniacal crescendo as it echos irretrievably beyond the confines of the Church of Suckage......

Disturbing but brilliant.

No, we are not. We are very stable.

That's right.  I don't believe that if you don't think you're crazy, you're crazy.  Unless you're crazy.

Ahh!! It's an elevator.

... to Jorch's secret underwater cave, somewhere deep below the Pacific...or off the coast of the Pacific or kind of near the Pacific.  It has a tunnel to his Magnum B.S. studio in Hawaii.

ah man I just listened to the show from i think the 18th? or 19th whatever... it was a friday and boy was jorch on fire!!  I'm sure it was mentioned here but HOOOOOOLEEEEEE shyat!  How about that "jorch saw tommy's brother's ghost" story?

I had the train wreck on in the background as I was fiddling around with something.  Jorch was doing his usual mumbling around.  I'd forgotten about Jorch bloviating about seeing seeing Tommy's brother's ghost.  Of course, my first thought was Bravo Sierra and then I put it out of mind.  I'm getting better at subconsciously ignoring anything Noory says.  Jorch, the white noise of radio.

i think either would be better than noory.
I'm favoring Sylvester.  Hearing "Sufferin' succotash!" several times an hour would be a big step up from "that's true."

I was gonna go with Rachel Ray.
Ray has a radio show?  I'd have to say Car Talk's Click and Clack.  They're retired now but NPR still plays reruns.  An on-going threat to comedy. ;)

At some point last week I had a choice of listening to George or watching soldier fly maggots devour some rotting food.  I watched the maggots (I wish I were making this up...)

I mention this only to demonstrate that something being better or more entertaining than George is setting a very low bar.
Yes, watching a rock is more entertaining than Jorch.  At least the rock is trying.

Some Jimmy trivia, courtesy of Me TV.

"James Garner explained in an interview that Jim Rockford's license plate number, 853-OKG, was created by his agent at the start of the show and stands for August, 1953, when Garner got his first acting job, and OKG which stands for Oklahoma Garner, his home state."

I'd forgotten "The Rockford Files" are on Me TV during the week, 12:00 EST, as well as Sunday at 7:00 pm.

R.I.P., Jimmy.

"Rockford" would have been on cable if made these days. It was much edgier and smarter than practically any crime/drama series of the era. Any often very funny. I still watch it on ME-TV. They'll probably have some tribute soon enough.

Oh no, not Jimmy.  Coincidentally (in your face, Jorch),"Rockford" is on Me-TV today. I always try to break-in sometime during Me's Sunday "Cannon," "Rockford," "Kojak" fest, right before "Columbo," which I almost always catch.

You're right, Eddie, they'll do a proper tribute, unlike the shameful crap Jorch does.  By the way, GNS.

The bridge building style is considered to be Art Deco, or at least have elements of Art Deco style.

There are quite a few historic forts in and around San Francisco, some dating back to the Spanish.  Two of them are at water level on either end under the Golden Gate Bridge - I recommend a visit to Fort Point on the San Francisco side.  It's free.

I regret I didn't take in Fort Point, P*B.  Maybe next time.  I took a number of photos of the place, though, when I was doing the GBB.  It always reminds me of the famous "Vertigo" scene.

Carmel is another northern California place I'd love to visit again. The beach is gorgeous, there was the best little French patisserie in town and a general relaxed atmosphere.  At the San Carlos Borromeo Mission, I was walking along the long walkway and came to the courtyard. While I was admiring the extensive garden, I thought the bushes were filled with bees, but the sound was strange. I walked closer and saw hundreds and hundreds of tiny hummingbirds in the flowers, a sight I will never forget as long as I live. There was a gardener in a yellow hat working quietly among the bushes and smiling at the tourists. It was a perfect moment and probably the closest I'll ever come to a genuine mystical experience. In a way, I don't want to go back because I'll never duplicate that moment.

I can't get to my photos as they are upstairs and I'm still confined to crutches, but this is a picture from the internet of the Mission. It really doesn't do the beauty of the place justice.

That area is beautiful.  Love the hummingbird story!  A couple years back I attended a festival in Sierra Vista, AZ, the hummingbird capital of the U.S.  Sierra Vista is in what they term "sky island" type mountains, which means it's at an altitude far enough above the desert to give it a distinct micro-climate.  A beautiful, southwestern desert area.  Anyway, the hummingbirds were everywhere!  All different types.  Just gorgeous!

The bullshit meter was off the scale last night. He gave us one of his little fireside chats...

Damn, how I hate it when he does that.  Like he's some kind of wise tribal elder when he's the town stooge.  It's like seeking wisdom from some drunk guy at at bar.

I guess I didn't search well enough, found a place about 25 miles away.  Don't care if I have to go alone either  8)

Go for it!  I'm the only "Mistie" among family and friends so I'm in a similar boat.  I actually enjoyed going by myself.  The crowd size was just right for the local showing of "Sharknado" and I sat with a friendly group of Misties.  Great time had by all!

Ah, yes, P*B!  One of the many reasons I greatly admire the Golden Gate.  The Art Deco style really speaks to me.  The simple, yet dramatic approach is just fantastic.

Here's my second favorite Art Deco/Moderne structure.

It's the Union Terminal in Cincinnati.  A "Cathederal" dedicated to the golden age of rail travel.  Well worth seeing, if you're in the area.  There are free tours on Sundays and very enjoyable.  Most of the surrounding layout around the terminal has been saved and is just gorgeous.  The terminal is now a museum and open to the public most days.

Laugh of the day.  Thanks, Zeebo.  Noory's looking for life-style tips from Jughead.

"...Jughead Jorch Jones "Dave" Noorie has an insatiable appetite for turkey sandwiches, and refuses to get a girlfriend all girls refuse Jorch, although he has on occasion fallen for female Tommy companions.  Has the ability to walk mumble with his eyes closed and mind missing, and actually causes intense distress to do otherwise radio listeners."
