I think it would be very comforting to live in a world without nuance and where everybody who disagrees with one's opinions can be fitted neatly into a few rigidly defined categories. I envy your ability to do so.

So you didn't care for my description of the rioter pukes as ''the Daily Kaos / Code Pink / Berkeley-Oakland-Portland wing of Occupy/BLM types - you know, the adolescent-kook America-haters of the left-coast Left''.  I'm apparently unfairly placing them in a ''rigidly defined category'', rather than treating them as ''nuanced'' groups and as ''nuanced'' individuals.

Well, somehow all the riots are orchestrated and funded by the same organization (Soros), and end up the same way.  Or did you think they were all spontaneous and local, and hadn't noticed they're all run from the same playbook?  They use the same hate slogans, wave the same hate signs, and use the same Brownshirt tactics.

If you are able to parse out individuals and organizations, I'd be interested in seeing it.  Because from here they look to be operating inside their own special Fascist echo chamber.

I also have the Democrat Media in a rigid category of their own.  The Big Media outlets tend use the same talking points and coordinate with the DC Dems on a daily basis.  Is it really just a coincidence they highlight the same news items, ignore the same news items, and have the same 'take' on the same news items every day - for decades on end?

I kind of liked this one, to me it shows the various news readers aren't to be trusted to even introduce an economic news story.  Please let me know if you want more examples, YouTube is full of them

Wait ... is that what that is? Remember during one of the earliest shows he claimed to have some sort of strange creature living in the studio? Looks to me like the somebitch has ferrets running around the house or something.
Next to the illuminated thingy, it looks like a stuffed squirrel.  Has Zeebo posted recently?

He is supposed to be back after the inauguration.  He has a new digital book out, too.

Thank you for the update, K_Dubb. New books from both Hoaggie and George! I'll have to check out the Amazon reviews. Maybe Art could pen a new novel or maybe have the stalker ghost write one for a C2C hat trick.  ;D

“If Putin likes Donald Trump, guess what folks, that is called an asset, not a liability,” Trump said. “Do you honestly believe that Hillary would be tougher on Putin than me? Give me a break.”

Yes, Mr President-elect. The intelligence reports are indeed calling you an asset in the context of Russia. You may keep using that word but, as in the Princess Bride, I do not think it means what you think it means.

Trump will never learn from his mistakes. Suspecting the recent Russia revelations are the work of the intelligence agencies, Trump continues to wage war on his own spies. He could offer no proof of such a betrayal but continued to trash the CIA in public all the same.

This kind of struggle does not end well for sitting presidents, as Richard Nixon discovered. Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein’s biggest source, known as Deep Throat, was in fact the deputy director of the FBI.

You might think that the main purpose of Trump’s press conference was to squash the Russia dossier news. But no â€" that was just the first few minutes of the affair.

After a rambling introduction about carmakers, veterans affairs and his inaugural celebrations, Trump finally arrived at his desired topic of the day: the non-resolution of the conflicts of interest that will embroil his presidency from now until he leaves the Oval Office.

Donald Trump is not what he seems. The supposed master of media manipulation stumbled so often at his first press conference, it is hard to recall why anyone thought the TV star was good at this stuff in the first place.

If the potentially explosive story embroiling him weren’t so salacious, you might say this is a case of the emperor’s new clothes. Instead, it’s safe to say the Trump presidency is already in shambles. And it has yet to reach its official start.

For a showman who promised to restore the Reagan era â€" and even ripped off Reagan’s slogan â€" this is just one of the most surprising revelations of the past few days.

Reagan and his advisers knew how to project a sunny image that kept the presidency separate from whatever the pesky media wanted to focus on, such as high unemployment or secret gun-running to enemy states.

Judging from Wednesday’s trainwreck press conference â€" the first since July â€" Trump and his handlers have no self-discipline and no strategy to deal with the Russian crisis that has been simmering for the best part of the past year.

Meanwhile, in anxious eastern and central Europe and the Middle East, fear of Russia will be mixed with new respect. Lavrentiy Beria, Stalin’s legendary chief of state security and head of the NKVD, forerunner of the KGB, would be impressed. The American “target” has been destabilised, its democratic system of governance discredited before the world, and its new leader compromised before he takes power. Time will tell whether Putin has overplayed his hand. Right now, he must be laughing fit to burst â€" in a plausibly deniable way.

Au contraire mon ami.

The leak and publication by some news outlets of admittedly unverified salacious material and Trump's reaction to it will serve to insulate him against future reprisal by the spooks or the media.  For the sake of argument let's assume that someone in the intelligence community leaked the information which seems to be the popular consensus.  Should something akin to this arise in the future Trump can point to this very memorable goat fuck on the part of Trump's enemies as being just more of the same.  They (and we all no who they are) have tipped their hand and in so doing have given Trump durable cover.  Trump is the victim here and those who gave the story legs like McCane, Shumer, CNN. Buzzfeed and its owner NBC are the heavies.  The press is indeed relentless as are the powerful bureaucrats in D.C. but they have screwed the pooch on this one and in the future anything less than HD images of Trump pissing off the White House balcony accompanied by signed receipts showing an unbroken chain of custody for the video  simply won't do.

Trust me . I'm right about this.

This is from Buzzfeed's the morning after article. Couldn't resist posting here. I think we know this guy

... Trump supporters started a misinformation campaign about the dossier, circulating images on 4chan and Reddit that include passages not contained in the original document. They claim the entire dossier is made up and that it was sent to a Republican strategist, Rick Wilson, last year. Wilson denied being the source of the leak. He has been involved in a long-running battle with Internet trolls after he called Trump supporters “childless single men who masturbate to anime” last January. ...

Whether the video exists or not isn't important. He's once again shown his hand by trashing the IS of the US. He's said reluctantly that Russia are behind the cyber attacks. I can't really see how he can instill confidence with anyone; other than Putin, who can depend on Trump being way out of his depth when it comes to grown up stuff.

I know you're making the point he can bleat 'same old same old, poor me, they're picking on me'. But he's POTUS elect, not a seven year old in the playground, even though he acts like one.

It matters not one jot if Buzzfeed, CNN, Facebook, 4chan or whoever tipped their hand too soon. Its his reaction to it that is noticed. If he wants to play on the world stage, he should be behaving less like a petulant bully who had his face rubbed in the dog shit by a girl who said 'no more'.

I say 'should'; because he won't, he can't. He'll only be taken seriously as a vulnerable bully, not respected. He has holes in his armour now, lord help him after 6 months, if he gets that far.

He works for Fox News, but Shepard Smith was firmly on Team CNN Wednesday afternoon when he spoke out against Donald Trump accusing the network of spreading "fake news."

In his first press conference in several months, Trump blasted CNN for reporting on intelligence officials briefing Trump about Russia having blackmail-worthy material on him (the dossier, with unverified claims, was later published on BuzzFeed). Trump denied the allegations, called it "fake news," and refused to take a question from the network's Jim Acosta. "Not you," he snapped. "Your organization is terrible." After again saying CNN reports "fake news," Trump took a question from the right-wing website Breitbart News.

Shepard took umbrage to Trump's attitude, and said so during Shepard Smith Reporting's closing segment. "CNN's exclusive reporting on the Russian matter was separate and distinctly different from the document dump executed by an online news property," he said. "Though we at Fox News cannot confirm CNN's report, it is our observation that its correspondents followed journalistic standards and that neither they nor any other journalists should be subjected to belittling and delegitimizing by the president-elect of the United States."
