Lionel Podcast

Started by Jackstar, February 12, 2016, 01:37:44 AM

This thread is very misleading. I thought we were going to be discussing a podcast about Lionel trains.

ShayP

I thought Lionel Fanthorpe.  Spring Heeled Jack.  C'mon!?

Jackstar

I'll be honest, I probably should have posted this in Politics. But it's a podcast, shrug.

I first heard this guy when his show from NY was picked up on Seattle local radio in the mid-90s. It did not last long, naturally. I've remembered him off and on ever since, although I confess I forgot all about him for at least the last five years.

But now, Mama, I'm coming home.

He had a show on WOR for a few years. Lionel was awesome. He was informative and funny. I loved the back and forth with his producer, they were hilarious. The Lionel left for Air America where he proceeded to suck.

Robert

Some people I knew in the Libertarian Party of NY knew him by his real name, Michael LeBron.  Early in this century I was hoping we was developing yet other comic personas, but it looks like after he'd had success w the Lionel formula for a while, he just settled into it permanently, much as Herbert Khaury stopped doing his other acts after he'd had enough success as Tiny Tim.

I loved Lionel's discussion of dirty tricks he'd played in court, like getting the jurors to look at the ceiling during the other side's testimony.

Jackstar

Michael is the most badass name in any language, but Lionel is a solid brand now.

He should be on DMDN! Oh wait, paranormal lol.

Ditto. OP should be exiled for disappointing me.

Lionel is a funny, smart individual. I have been listening to him, he has a unique take on things. I take it you heard the CTM segment featuring him. That's where you should have posted, Jackstar.
The rest of you can hear him on Caravan to Midnight, the John B. Wells program, if it is not on utube.
I rarely go to the place which censors it's contributors.

p.s.
At first I thought you were referring to Fanthorpe, had to check the thread to be sure your mind wasn't gone yet.

That's funny stuff. You keep shilling for the CTM paysite, which killed it's forums. The ultimate censorship lol.

Jackstar pointed to the man's own website. funny stuff man!  ;D

I did post there. I am like the only person who does post in that thread, and even you didn't read it. Sigh.

Also, I'll be honest: I knew someone would come along and post pictures of Nicole's father. I love it when a plan comes together.

Just Me

Has old Lionel explained the porn show on TV at a funeral he was heading.

QuoteRev Fanthorpe said: "I'm either looking at the congregation or at the prayer book. To me, it sounded something like voices in a shopping centre but I couldn't see.

"Simon's father-in-law was desperately upset. [He] came rushing forward. He was looking for an engineer and urging them to 'turn it off, turn it off'. Fortunately it was off in seconds.

Ouch! I humbly apologize, Jackstar. Also I have to admit Ciardelo has a point.
I wish I was an evil genius like you guys.

I think I was funnier a year and a half ago. I am kind of tired now, what with all the winning, and the constant auto-fellatio--a man gets tired, you know. What do you guys think? Discuss.

Fun Trivia Fact: in this stream, Lionel fronts that he's never heard of NESARA before.

I suppose this is vaguely plausible, but I have my doubts.

Unusually not wearing a B&W shirt today--this must just be off the cuff.

I'm glad your going to do this Jackstar.  I love Lionel, but I always forget to watch him.  Seeing this thread pop up in the active threads, will remind me to watch.   ;D

Lionel's a good guy, still has some latent boomer programming, but he's come a long way since the election, and done great work.

Corona Kitty
