Does anybody recall Ticketmaster and the inflated prices they charged for Pearl Jam concerts several years ago. Well Pearl Jam told that multi-billionare mother fucker, Paul Allen from Microsoft, to go pound some more software up his ass and offered free concerts. I think Soundgarden did the same thing.

Well, this has nothing to do with bands out of the Northwest but it does deal with a conert, held annually, in the northern Michigan penninsula. It is called the "Electric Forest Festival" and lasts for four days. The folks who put on this show clear out the same forested area from bugs a few weeks before hand. They also cut off the lower branches to eliminate the possibility of people who decide to climb trees while high. Whiel Ticketmaster charges from $3-$5 for a bottle of water on a 100 degree day (you can't bring in a cooler at one of theirs), this festival provides free water, camp grounds and a medical staff. Violence is unheard of as people are really into the music, light show and mood of the setting in what amounts to an enchanted forest.

The venue is electronica, ambient, techno and trance on four stages, with literal nesting areas for those who want to gather (I provided a picture). People are really mellow as the entire setting is like a colorful dream with dreamy music. You can also leave the area (not far of course) and get a full panoramic view of the night sky while lsitening to this dreamy music.
