See y'all tomorrow in SA at the Freeman Coliseum. Priest in SA. And you know how SA loves metal! Should be good. With Saxon!

Ha. Maybe if he is hanging out in the parking lot first. No, random deal. Sorta tough. Tuesday night? "Geez," as Norry might say. But I'm sure SA will turn out, especially since Los Spurs out of it. If Spurs were playing/winning and Metal show? The town might be meet a "singularity" and disappear in fire.

That was a selling point also for a Tuesday out of town (not that far away.) Now, the Slayer, Testament, Anthrax, and some newbies like LOB, etc here at COTA in June  ("last" Slayer tour, like I've haven't seen Priest do that a few times, ha?) That might be a challenge in the summer heat outside!!!! But still going, obviously, but couldn't get pit. Even with early access sales. But will try to be in in. Ha. So this is show prep for that because "geez," as Norry might say- that is a LINE-UP!

I would enjoy many beers and highland single malt with you guys. Hopefully JP will do some of the stuff from British Steel and perhaps a few from Point of Entry. #HeadingOutToTheHighway #DessertPlains #ETC

Just back. Wondered to self taking a leak and throwing out Whataburger bags what was buzzing noise. Besides me, ears a-ringing. Gotta love old place, like a metal hanger! Great show!

""Saints in Hell" from 1978's Stained Class was an easy highlight â€" a tempo-shifting epic the band had never played live before this tour. Later, it dusted off "Tyrant," a 1976 riff monster that singer Rob Halford said the band was only performing for the San Antonio show."

"Tipton actually rejoined Priest for its three-song encore, prompting a lengthy welcome of cheers and raised devil horns. His solo on "Metal Gods" put to rest any question whether illness has claimed his skills."

"Saxon is best known for its early '80s output, but the band's charging 13-song set did more than recycle the hits. Strong new material made up roughly half the playlist."

ps: ears still ringing this morning. I know "not good" but went away by around 10 though right ear (based on my seating) lasted a bit longer.

Glad to see that they did Bloodstone. Grinder too.. wonder if Halfords a member of, grinder. How were the vocals in Freewheel burning and painkiller?

haha. I joked a lot that if he wanted another mailbox-money paycheck every month he should do commercials for Grinder.
His vocals and range were great. The facility however was old-school auditorium, basically a metal shed/airport hanger type of place. Cool for nostalgia but not good for hearing vocals or lyrics, plus coupled with everyone shouting the lyrics....but nice and LOUD and long sets and good show. Whatever laws SA had about cigarettes and weed was ignored by much of audience. SAPD knows how to pick their battles, I guess. The metal detectors had some funny incidents to get in.  Chains, piercings, contraband, etc meant long lines so missed opening act. But got in for last few songs and then Saxon (rocked) and Priest. Stuck next to a fat-chick and small ass chairs but standing most of the time anyway. No pit. Less "stage craft" gimmicks than many bands do and more music which I didn't mind (though with some bands like Maiden etc I do like.)
