Sometimes we do connect especially on music.  You're thinking just what I was thinking.  LOL

Takes me back to my youth. It was in heavy rotation on most rock stations and my dad took my brother and I to go see them around that time or maybe a year later. They weren't great that day. Frankly the opening acts were much better but I can say I saw the Stones! 8)

My brother saw them in the 70's up in Philly.  He may have seen them twice.  He went to a shitload of concerts back then.  I didn't start going to concerts until the 80's.  First one was Styx, then Rush, the Police and Paul McCartney.  Wish I saw more bands at the time.

I wish I had seen Styx and The Police but I did see Rush and McCartney too. I enjoyed Rush more.

I enjoyed Macca more though Rush was great.  When I saw Macca, he was still at the peak of his vocal prowess and those old Beatles and Wings tunes were so great.  I was frankly awestruck.  Saw him again about 7 years ago and his vocals have the trembling quality that comes with old age.  He still had the energy though.

I saw him in 1989 in Toronto at what was called was called Skydome then. I forget what they call it now. Anyway, my seats were at the top level of this newly constructed place that sounded very boomy and echoey. I don't blame Macca for that one.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em eh?  LOL.  I think you wanted us to post more Stones music.  Good song by the way ;)

I have another one I love off that album.

I prefer the Jones era though they made some great songs afterwards.  It's a shame Mick and Keith didn't try harder to keep Jones sober and active in the band.  I heard he had gotten off drugs when he died and there is some question of foul play in association with his death.

I saw him at Veteran's Stadium in Philly that year.

If I'm tired, I have a bit of a Southern drawl.  I can also talk like DeNiro or Stallone if I want to. I'm a sponge basically.  To a Southerner, I don't sound Southern.  To a Northerner, I do. And vice versa.  I've picked up on both accents in my life.

Great fuzz sound on that I Get Around cover.  I know the Stones were crazy about that song.  They did a pretty good job on the background vocals.  I guess that is Mick doing the Brian Wilson falsetto bit there.

Back in the day the stones bought into a little desert oasis shangri la. I've been spending time there whenever I can over the past 20 years and will in fact be there next weekend.

I think this was around the time I saw them, maybe a year later. Have a listen. You can hear what bad form they're in, just racing through the songs at almost double speed...but they're so out of shape they can barely keep up with themselves. Can you understand why this wasn't exactly satisfying?

The slave song

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59K2kF6o9Tk

Gold Coast slave ship bound for cotton fields
Sold in the market down in New Orleans
Scarred old slaver knows he's doin' all right
Hear him whip the women just around midnight
Brown Sugar, how come you taste so good
Brown Sugar, just like a young girl should

Drums beatin' cold, English blood runs hot
Lady of the house wonderin' when it's gonna stop
House boy knows that he's doin' all right
You should have heard him just around midnight
Brown Sugar, how come you dance so good
Brown Sugar, just like a young girl should

Brown Sugar, how come you dance so good
Brown Sugar, just like a black girl should

I bet your mama was a Chesire Queen,
And all her boyfriends were sweet sixteen
I'm no school boy but I know what I like
You should have heard them just around midnight
Brown Sugar, how come you taste so good
Brown Sugar, just like a black girl should

I said, yeah, yeah, yeah, wooo
How come you, how come you dance so good
Yeah, yeah, yeah, wooo
Just like a, just like a black girl should
Yeah, yeah, yeah, wooo

I love the isolated tracks and felt tons better about my bass playing after hearing Wyman in iso.
